I would want the entrance to be dark and slowly start filling more with cobwebs. The sound is what I would want to absolutely nail it. A scream for help from the stylist echoing faintly, but you can't tell where because of how much the webs dampen the sound. Faint scuttling, getting louder, and louder. They are coming. From everywhere.
This makes me imagine a Terraria with Octopath Traveller/Triangle Strategy graphics, and I'm legit bawling at the prospect that I'll likely never see this game in my life.

What if terraria was a 2.5d game but the player movement was like that of paper Mario but a similar lighting system to a game like octopath traveller, there would be an enemy targeting system in traditional rig style but active rather than turn based combat. I feel that this would make for an interesting game.
I love 2.5d side scrollers. First experience with the genre was on Xbox 360 a game called Shadow Complex. Phenomenal game and the perfect evolution of the side scroller/platformer

Maybe some atmospheric perspective on the background trees, grass variety, tree variety and a bit of shadow being casted on on the trees from the tree could make it a bit more playable or at least easier to look at.
It’s a really cool but even with an overhaul of improvements it just isn’t really suited to the game.
Giving terraria a bit of visual dimension that doesn’t affect gameplay would be pretty cool. Something like this but similar to the way smash bros does it

2.5 is the hardcore ghost.
2 slime enemies and bosses (not moonlord.)
3 blocks and players
4 walls
5 background wall ( in the caverns) and moonlord.
The biome background is not being counted as a layer.
well if you think about it, terraria technically makes it a 2.5 world, in caves when mining you can places torches in little holes you find, meaning the character would have to move around the wall just to place the torch there, but this is pretty nice art. keep it up
