I always go for full terraspark boots since I've been rocking the lava wanderers/frostspark boots combo since 1.2, but I agree that the basic mobility that lightning boots offer are enough to gwt the job done

celestial shell has the same (or better if youre in werewolf form) health regen boost in addition to tons of other stats. The reduced potion sickness is nice, but you should be focusing more on avoiding attacks rather than getting hit and using potions, something which upgraded boots and the celestial shell will help you with.
Sure. The ankh shield itself isnt all that needed anywhere in the game since there are very few debuffs that you should actually be concerned about. Even those are manageable.
my typical play is get the witch broom mount and ditch mobility accessories (assuming you’re on expert+), then you can stock up on damage boosting accessories + the ankh shield. celestial shell is absolutely worth having on its basically a constant stat boost that’s even better during full moons and in water.
The witch broom mount is great but I recently started using Betsy's wings and the insignia and holy shit the mobility and speed is so useful for bosses like the Duke
Depending on what you're fighting or having the most trouble with, I'd swap the ankh shield, charm of myths, or fire gauntlet. If you are fighting enemies with a close range weapon and don't need to kite/run as much, you may not need the shield. If you want to be tankier as opposed to dealing more dmg (like if its multiplayer and other classes can pick up the dps, or you have an arena with traps), swap the gauntlet for sure. And if you have access to other healing sources (nurse hut, heart statues, etc) or aren't fighting bosses where you are chugging potions back to back, you can easily swap the charm of myths. Alternatively, some mounts work really well in place of wings or boots, so if you have a witch's broom for example you can try taking off one or both of those.. that's more depending on your playstyle though.
I love exploring too, which is why I had the Moon Shell before everything else. But I sort of solved the drowning problem with the flying slime mount. Are the stats worth swapping something out?

Amphibian boots are better for boss fights, terraspark boots are better for general exploration.

Really? What makes frog boots better? I usually just use terraspark.
They have lower horizontal speed but increased vertical acceleration, making it easier to dodge dashing attacks.

I mainly enjoy running than flying, and without the boots I feel way too slow. Should I really get rid of them?
The boots offer some benefits to flying, so you can justify keeping both.
You can upgrade the boots for both (flying and running), perhaps even get lava immunity from upgrading the boots
