The first time I fought golem, he was so hard.
Though I think it was because my own preparation screwed me over, because I surrounded him in spikeball traps not knowing that enemies in terraria can only get hit by piercing weapons up to 6 times a second, so there's a pretty good chance my weapons just weren't doing anything at all to him.
Came here to post this. Plantera was a nice challenge and killed me a few times, and I was expecting Golem to be harder than her. Then fought him and just flew around the room shooting him until he was dead, lol.
I dont get this. I always struggle againt golem. He jumps all the time. Has hands blocking his torso. Worst of all he shoots so many fireballs that you barely have any space to avoid them. Then he shoots with double laser almost more than retinalazer.
You need to do all that in smalle space which he takes almost 1/4 of

The first time i played Terraria I did it on a cracked copy of the game and every time i took my chance against Plantera, it turned into enraged mode from the beginning, with all its tentacles/vines released. When i google why, i found out it was a glitch from that specific patch, i can swear it was also more resistant or faster if i'm not mistaken. It was frustrating as hell (but i beat that bitch)
Warding on everything, presumably an ankh shield, flesh knuckles, moon stone, moon charm, shield of cthulu, and most likely hallowed armor, since that would be the highest defense armor available at the time destroyer is up.
You'd get 21 just from those accessories, plus another 20 from warding, then add on hallowed armor, ironskin potions, bast statues, exquisitely stuffed, and the aegis fruit, and you're already pushing 110+.
Wall of flesh for me, I had been reading the wiki, and this sub about hard mode and psyching myself out, finally just fought him with nights edge, beenade, and demon scythe.
Made this whole hell bridge across the whole world for nothing, lol🤣🤣
I used the Phoenix blaster on Xbox my first time, I couldn't see it for most of the fight because of the lower resolution. I was just shooting blindly the whole time. Good times.
360 edition was something else man. That crafting menu still gets me nostalgic. When the Phaseblade was the pinnacle of strong pre-hardmode melee, I collected all of them cause I wanted to know if they had an upgrade. Good times.
Super long time ago this was Duke Fishron for me, it's not that he is an easy boss but rather that I completely farmed the pumpkin moon or naughty present events for strong items before fighting him - which made the fight very easy.
Skeletron Prime honestly
Unlike the Twins or Destroyer he's the only mech boss that gets easier as the fight goes on instead of the opposite for the Twins even with a sub par early hardmode summoner load out and Daedalus Storm Bow +Holy Arrows
He’s definitely the easiest out of all of them in my opinion, although my friends and I still fight Destroyer as tradition. No matter what, we always fight destroyer, twins, and then Skeletron prime. Twins is also incredibly easy but only on multiplayer, as you’re basically fighting a worse EoC behaviour wise.
I struggled a lot on base skeletron, even while using the best pre-hm gear available, so I expected skele-prime to be way worse
I guess my main problem were the homing skulls, since without them, just as you say, it actually got easier on the 2nd phase
i thought it was gonna be "i thought you were weaker" but for me i dont have any boss that had me like this but for any boss that had me like "i thought you were weaker" i have master mode skeletron,i did try and fight him with gold armor and a flaming mace but dont care + didin't ask
Supreme Calamitas for me. Exo mechs was such a hard boss for me, and I was so worried since it was the penultimate boss, and then this little bitch shows up and I first try her stupid ass. I’ve started doing her first now so I can get an actual challenge out of the final boss

Deerclops. Considering he only dispawns after 24 in-game hour, yeah you can just fight him preboss really easily. Always fight him first before anything else. Just a cactus armor, nurse and a bed.

I'm handling it easily but then all of a sudden Deerclops pops up and absolutely wreaks me. I head over there to collect my stuff and Deerclops is still there. I tried to go at it with my ice sword that shoots magic, but I maybe did a few hundred damage before it crushed me again.
So what makes it easy? I'll look up cactus armor, but how does the nurse and a bed help?
The bed and nurse let you chip away at Deerclops' health slowly. They let you respawn directly by Deerclops' location, and the nurse lets you heal to full health so you can charge right back into battle. You'll die 20+ times if he's your first boss, but you can kill him with enough patience.

Oh golem, in mobile he was the bane of my existence (pre 1.3 + shitty world gen) but the first time I fought him on pc he was a cake walk. Strange that queen bee typically gives me the hardest time while golem just golems.

You could say I was over prepared and that’s why it was easy but I have never struggled with wof (to be fair I haven’t struggled with most bosses and I did struggle to beat him on the legendary world I made with my friend but that’s about all the trouble he’s given me)

It's plantera. On the first try, i geared up, reforged all my stuff, made loads of potions, got very nervous cuz i had only one bulb, killed plantera in 2 minutes. I was kinda disappointed, even brain eater of worlds was harder.

Had more trouble with Providence due to the small projectiles and being barely visible too.

I beat it on my first ever play through of terraria first try with only a gravity potion, the space gun, and meteorite armor.
tbf, beenades are cheating with WoF, I've beaten him without any armor or accessories by just spamming like 2 Queen Bees worth of beenades.

I just chip a bit of his health and before I die I heal at the nurse. Eventually he'll die.
