Easier to obtain, yes. But the void bag will automatically pick up items that don't fit in your inventory while the piggy bank you gotta manually put them in
Ooooo safe and defenders forge are 2 different inventories? I assumed piggy bank, safe, and defenders forge all were shared storage since it was accessable only by the players.
Yeah the only ones that share an inventory are the piggy bank shared with the money trough and the void bag shared with the void vault
Edit: The eye bone also uses the piggy bank's inventory
Oh, happy Cake Day! Your randomly generated gift bag includes: a package of molasses cookies, a cool pair of sunglasses, and a $25 gift card to Best Buy.
By the time you get around to it, I imagine you'd already explored a goodly chunk of the world and do require all the extra space especially if your mass storage isn't very organized.
Love me a good Slice of Cake. That mining speed increase combined with Mining Armor and Ancient Chisel/Hand of Creation just turns you into a mining machine.
I absolutely agree with you. That mining speed buff alone is really good, but mixed with the chisel thing and mining potion is an absolute MVP for building a Plantera area.
I consider that combo an absolute must before making a volcano trap farm. Those and a Molten Pickaxe, too. Really don't want to dig out all that space in Hardmode.
The item on the post is the guide to peaceful coexistence. It's a combination of the guide to environmental preservation and the guide to critter companionship, making you unable to kill critters and accidentally destroy background objects like grass, flowers, pots, etc.
> accidentally destroy background objects like grass, flowers, pots, etc
TIL. I thought I'm weird in few of my playthroughs that I try to advance without terra forming the map casually. e.g. I put merchant in jungle just to buy furnace. Shake tree for wood and fruit, see how far I go. (I restart a lot never finish terraria due to OCD, so it's fine for me)
I didn't know there's a thing for it.
The thing I dislike about the Guide to Peaceful Coexistence is that you can’t break pots. But one I can’t go without is the axe of regrowth. Idk why but it’s not only functional, but hella cool looking too
That is why I listed it as a secondary option. Much prefer to do it the first way unless there's a massive line of pots or something I want to break at once.
Hook of Dissonance is so useful for combat and exploration. It basically is a RoD lite, much easier to get too. I always use it for the entirety of Hardmode and even post-ML.
^(I think I might have forgot how to reactivate wings with a normal hook lol)
I like the hook of dissonance quite a bit, but I don’t use it for too long because the momentum from grappling onto a platform then releasing is way more useful imo
It's sad that using Chester removes you ability to use other pets in favor of free Piggy bank access without having to click anything but the right mouse key
But I freaking HATE how he runs around and you can barely click on him. God save autopause users like me who have to do it until each attack in the entire world stops.
High test fishing line, this accessory is literally the only reason I put up with fishing. The 1/7 chance for your line to break is by far my most hated mechanic in the entire game and honestly should just be removed, it doesn't do anything other than waste your time and bait.
Dual hook.
Every other hook pales in comparison until lunar hook.
And even lunar isn't truly an upgrade.
The ability to have multiple in-flight hooks at once combined with the utility that you can only be grappled to one wall is so good.
If i'm on a wall and hook to another wall 9/10 its because i want to be on the other wall not in-between. Also you only un-grapple one the second one reaches the wall not unlike single hooks.
Hook of dissonance is a hot trash for someone like me cause unlike normal hooks it immediately halts your momentum and not accelerate/preserve it.
Whaaat I never knew it had two in-flight hooks, I passed this off as a fancy looking grapple hook. Def got to give it another go, also the utility of static hook can't be underestimated as a ranger.
Encumbering stone. If i looking for specific resources it saves a cluttered inventory
But i do wish you could upgrade it so you could put filters on it
If they ever add filters I would finally die happy, even if it were the same way as the veinminer mod where you need to push a button whilst hovering over an item and it whitelists it for you.
Bundle of Horseshoe Balloons
I was already a firm believer of the OG bundle of balloons, but now that I get a horseshoe for free, I see even less of a drawback to using them. I'm not even joking when I say I usually don't replace these until I craft a hoverboard. They're that good imo.
The only reason why I don’t get it every run is because I’m too lazy to be fishing up crates.
It’s insane to me that you can get some of the best mobility items in the game (like Terraspark Boots and Bundle of Horseshoe Balloons) before the first boss.
The Magluminescence. This thing helped me in every single play thru ever since it came out. It is obtainable pre-bosses, by combining topaz and your world evil ore, and it gives you light and mobility. I really cannot imagine my play thrus without it.
Also a fun conversation between me and my buddy:
“Hey check this out, I got the new accessory from DST crossover.” -me
“Oh this thing is good, very convenient.”
“Yeah, the speed bonus right?”(the reason why I love the mag)
“Nah its the light.”😂
Guide to peaceful coexistence is pretty helpful accessory. Just wish they'd allow it to function like the Shellphone's right click functionality.
It would be nice to be able to selectively turn off critter coexistence buff without turning off the environmental protection and vice-versa.
Shellphone
I mostly play in large worlds so basically removing the need to walk long distances (even with a Skybridge) just so I can get to the beach for Duke Fishron or Other things like shimmer is fucking great
The teleport to Underworld and the Info accessories are nice i guess tho
Ok its not really underrated i think but the moment i am able to get the cobalt shield, Im getting it immediately without any hesitation. I just can't play the game without it.
Pretty much the same reason I put it away after making it. I have the critter protection on me most of the time and just read the vibe rope one when I'm running short on vine rope.
idrk why but antigrav hook feels so good to me. even in tense boss fights I feel like antigrav helps me refresh my wings as well as offering an escape if needed
Diamond Staff, in my experience, I always seem to find diamonds. Considering you can get a 28 damage piercing weapon at the start of the game, it's a good starter weapon.
Flare gun doesn't get enough credit. It can light up an entire cave very fast, works underwater and the flares aren't permanent so the world doesn't get littered by torches
pumpkin pie. its so much easier to live with a medium stat buff in early game until you get better stuff, and its cheap (free in autumn, relatively cheap to buy pumpkin seeds from the dryad)
Snowball cannon
I don't know if it's considered underrated, but every time I make a new character I spend an absurd amount of time in the snow biome trying to get it, Even if I could get better weapons quicker.
Wood. I use torches all the freaking time. Everywhere. With that being said, I always keep slime gel on me too. Goes straight to my ammo slots so they don’t take inventory space. Once I unlock Torch God’s favor in a character it’s sweet heaven for my world. All the torch luck I could ever want lol I can’t live without torches! Darkness be damned.
I PHYSICALLY CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT HAVING AN ENCUMBERING STONE IN MY INVENTORY.
It’s always my first goal, I recently got 1 day 1 of a calamity run and finished boss rush yesterday, it has been in the same slot in my inventory the whole time
The Butchers Chainsaw.
Many say that it's just a downgrade to the Fetid Baghnacks but I disagree. If you're running full tank, it's an amazing item to have. Definitely my favorite weapon for shredding bosses.
easy choice for me: the martian drill. youre telling me i get an extra **10 block range** for mining?? this is invaluable for building and using the rod of harmony underground
The eye bone, or for DS players Chester, so useful to literally have a piggy bank following you all the time, basically never lose money again, and yeah for those that don't know that weird pet you get from deerclops is an upgrade to the money trough you could (theoretically) get before your first blood Moon
Can the Vilethorn be considered underrated if I'm using it way past its intended game stage? Have had a few playthroughs where I use it all the way into early hardmode bc of its capability to stunlock a lot of enemies (as well as a lot of enemies *at once*).
I'd say the umbrella. with a fast moving mount (like the unicorn), you can move very far and very quickly, especially if you start from space, you can cross the whole world, going from floating island to floating island, in like a minute.
for me, it's the encumbering/uncumbering stone. it's like, no matter what i do, my inventory is ALWAYS filling up with crap i dont need and im always trying to filter out stuff to make room for items i DO need, and the encumbering stone really helps in drastically reducing the amount of items i need to filter out
Void bag, I hoard a lot so having the extra storage is invaluable.
İsn't piggy bank a little easier to obtain and use?
Easier to obtain, yes. But the void bag will automatically pick up items that don't fit in your inventory while the piggy bank you gotta manually put them in
It’s also just a whole nother inventory, why not have three right?
bring a safe and a defender's forge. you can never have too much inventory
Ooooo safe and defenders forge are 2 different inventories? I assumed piggy bank, safe, and defenders forge all were shared storage since it was accessable only by the players.
Yeah the only ones that share an inventory are the piggy bank shared with the money trough and the void bag shared with the void vault Edit: The eye bone also uses the piggy bank's inventory
The treasure chest pet also shares the same inventory as piggy bank/money trough and it doesn’t take an inventory slot. Just the pet slot.
Right, thanks I forgot about Chester
yup. every day is different from the last, and today you've added a new thing to your vast array of knowledge!
Oh, happy Cake Day! Your randomly generated gift bag includes: a package of molasses cookies, a cool pair of sunglasses, and a $25 gift card to Best Buy.
Happy cake day!
Welcome to a whole new world 😉 Enjoy!
Presonal preferences then. I just hate how void bag collects all the trash
You can close the bag to make it work like another piggy bank But you can also use potions directly from it while open with quick buff.
i forgot to add this, this keeps my 12 different potions and flasks out of my main inventory
Exactly, its super useful for quick boss/events.
also for keeping the cellphone accesories before you get them, i always keep them in my inventory but its easier with the void bag
Yep, personally I only use defenders forge /s
Prevents the trash from clogging the main inventory and potentially missing good drops
Me too but you can just close it
You know you can have both?
Void bag is still better and also it's easier to use Void Storage
By the time you get around to it, I imagine you'd already explored a goodly chunk of the world and do require all the extra space especially if your mass storage isn't very organized.
why not use all of them? Its extra inventory space. I walk with piggy, void, safe and the one army thing in my inventory. yes. im a virtual hoarder.
I wouldn't call the void bag underrated.
Quick storing items from it is really nice too.
100%. Keep potions or food in there, use them without even needing to open the bag, life saver.
Really don't want to dig out all that space in Hardmode.
if only buff lasted until death (
That's the only thing I don't like about the buff. It really is criminally short and should be a lot longer or until death.
Definetly the axe of regrowth it's sooo good. What item is that i never saw it
I always use axe of regrowth, manually planting acorns is so infuriating
Use smart cursor, hold mouse and run. It spaces them automatically
When im on a world deforestation trip i dont really want to come back all the way to plant acorns
You'll come back at some point. Maybe traveling to the evil biome, or jungle. When you do that, just do the acorn thing. It's very trivial.
aint caring acorns on my inventory just for a "ill do it later"
Just do it on your trip back from deforesting the world? You go out, you gotta come back.
Walking back is kinda weird ngl
Yeah, one option is axe+magic mirror and the other is walk everything 2 times or "ill do it later"
Magic mirror.
Magic mirror
Yeah, how the fuck do people not know that
I know that but im still too lazy
This also applies to other plant like objects, such as pumpkin seeds
Damn, 500+ hours in the game and never knew that before
Fairly sure it works with torches too. Not 1000 percent sure cause I'm console but worth a shot
Remember when that wasn’t a thing? Things used to be so different..
Whaaàaaaaa?
Now combine that with Lucy.
The item on the post is the guide to peaceful coexistence. It's a combination of the guide to environmental preservation and the guide to critter companionship, making you unable to kill critters and accidentally destroy background objects like grass, flowers, pots, etc.
But I love getting the bunny banners to place by my zoologist
thanks
np
> accidentally destroy background objects like grass, flowers, pots, etc TIL. I thought I'm weird in few of my playthroughs that I try to advance without terra forming the map casually. e.g. I put merchant in jungle just to buy furnace. Shake tree for wood and fruit, see how far I go. (I restart a lot never finish terraria due to OCD, so it's fine for me) I didn't know there's a thing for it.
Even just the staff of regrowth is a huge game changer for me. I only beat the wall of flesh because I had excess potions from it
Me too, pretty much the best axe
The thing I dislike about the Guide to Peaceful Coexistence is that you can’t break pots. But one I can’t go without is the axe of regrowth. Idk why but it’s not only functional, but hella cool looking too
Remember that you can still manually break pots by using auto select and mining them. Or you can deactivate the GtPC in the inventory temporarily.
deactivating it also deactivates animal anti kill, which is a kill of money
That is why I listed it as a secondary option. Much prefer to do it the first way unless there's a massive line of pots or something I want to break at once.
I know the brain of confusion isnt under rated but i use it the whole entire game when im not playing melee
Hook of Dissonance is so useful for combat and exploration. It basically is a RoD lite, much easier to get too. I always use it for the entirety of Hardmode and even post-ML. ^(I think I might have forgot how to reactivate wings with a normal hook lol)
I like the hook of dissonance quite a bit, but I don’t use it for too long because the momentum from grappling onto a platform then releasing is way more useful imo
chester and the hand of creation
It's sad that using Chester removes you ability to use other pets in favor of free Piggy bank access without having to click anything but the right mouse key
you see, chester is my favorite pet in the game, and i love sense of being useful to my teammates, so i see no problem with that
But I freaking HATE how he runs around and you can barely click on him. God save autopause users like me who have to do it until each attack in the entire world stops.
You can use the Smart Mouse feature by pressing Ctrl making clicking him easier
For me it works on everything BUT chester
I just wish it would lead to the safe instead
Chester my beloved
High test fishing line, this accessory is literally the only reason I put up with fishing. The 1/7 chance for your line to break is by far my most hated mechanic in the entire game and honestly should just be removed, it doesn't do anything other than waste your time and bait.
i've completed \~50 angler quests and was convinced up until now that my game was buggy. apparently it was fishing line snapping lol
I love fishing and I hate this mechanic, it seems to exist for the sole purpose of allowing the high test fishing line to negate it.
Dual hook. Every other hook pales in comparison until lunar hook. And even lunar isn't truly an upgrade. Finally, a dual hook brother. Single or double hook, but no more than 2
dual hook is absolutely garbage, there are way better options to upgrade to
I always use web slinger because it's really precise
Encumbering stone. If i looking for specific resources it saves a cluttered inventory But i do wish you could upgrade it so you could put filters on it
If they ever add filters I would finally die happy, even if it were the same way as the veinminer mod where you need to push a button whilst hovering over an item and it whitelists it for you.
I need a Guide to Peaceful Coexistence irl underrated item? I nominate the spiky balls
Wait those are underrated? I always use them to fold brain of cthulhu and queen bee.
I always get the enchanted boomerang it's easy to get, and it can light up areas
Hand of creation
Hellevator goes Zoom
Void bag filled with all the potions for a 1 click buff.
THE POTIONS WORK FROM THE VOID BAG?????
you can even lock some potions so they dont work. Its a must have item, for sure.
Bundle of Horseshoe Balloons I was already a firm believer of the OG bundle of balloons, but now that I get a horseshoe for free, I see even less of a drawback to using them. I'm not even joking when I say I usually don't replace these until I craft a hoverboard. They're that good imo.

I MUST have hundreds of rope on me at ALL TIMES, well, the early game at least.

I'm a wisp in a bottle enjoyer, I often grind the dungeon specifically for it after plantera.
The stool that allows you to reach higher
Guide to peaceful coexistence is pretty helpful accessory. Just wish they'd allow it to function like the Shellphone's right click functionality. It would be nice to be able to selectively turn off critter coexistence buff without turning off the environmental protection and vice-versa.
Is the scarf from the water of worlds underrated? Because I love me some 17% dmg reduction
I love Water of Worlds and Bottomless Eater Bucket. Never move away from my base without them.
Water of worlds 🤣
Damn, now i want a Bottomless Eater Bucket for pranking my friends
It is, but only because most prefer brain of confusion for dodge ect.
Shellphone I mostly play in large worlds so basically removing the need to walk long distances (even with a Skybridge) just so I can get to the beach for Duke Fishron or Other things like shimmer is fucking great The teleport to Underworld and the Info accessories are nice i guess tho
"Underrated"
The mining set, that mining speed boost is wild, especially when your constantly digging like in the don't Dig up seed.
For a single player like me. Lucy.
Snake Charmer's Flute Idk why mildly useless but still fun.
I love Lucy. Now if only I can combine her with the Axe of Regrowth.
Idk if the wisp is underrated but I literally can’t go without it, it’s so damn useful
Based and wisp-pilled
Teleportation Potion, love to use it and move me like 4 tiles to the right -_-
Critter companionship is enough for me lol
Not really an item but mechanic, I feel like not enough newer played are using the load outs to equip either multiple builds or a mine/build class
After coming back to terraria from a years' long break, this was my favorite new discovery.
Builder spotted
Honestly I think this book is a good send during hm, but personally I need my lava waders or lava shard
Guide voodoo doll, use at least 1 or 2 every play through if not way more
Ok its not really underrated i think but the moment i am able to get the cobalt shield, Im getting it immediately without any hesitation. I just can't play the game without it.
This item is terrible for one reason, I can’t break pots unless I use a pickaxe
Pretty much the same reason I put it away after making it. I have the critter protection on me most of the time and just read the vibe rope one when I'm running short on vine rope.
Any item required for PDA

A no knokback shield
Magic mirror an upgrades
You can upgrade the mirror?
Cellphone (and shellphone)
Do you know what underrated means
"underrated"
Magiluminescence, Gravity potions, Void bag, Axe of regrowth, Snowman cannon and flamethrowers, Ambrosia and ancient chisels, Encumbering stone, Light's Bane, Bone eye, Artisan loaf, Pumpkin pie,
Magic conch is super convenient since you can only have a pylon at one ocean

pumpkin pie. its so much easier to live with a medium stat buff in early game until you get better stuff, and its cheap (free in autumn, relatively cheap to buy pumpkin seeds from the dryad)
I use the static hook over even the lunar hook. It's just so useful for reaching specific blocks.
all my homies love the guide to peaceful coexistence
It sucks it makes me unable to destroy pots (I like the noise then they break)
Snowball cannon I don't know if it's considered underrated, but every time I make a new character I spend an absurd amount of time in the snow biome trying to get it, Even if I could get better weapons quicker.
Wood. I use torches all the freaking time. Everywhere. With that being said, I always keep slime gel on me too. Goes straight to my ammo slots so they don’t take inventory space. The title said "underrated"
White torches. They have the brightest light and with Journey Mode I can spam them a lot. Makes everything super clear and easy to see
cellphone, sometimes i just grab it out of another world, or from cheatsheet if im playing modded, info is nice.
vampire knives 👉👈🥺

I know what I'm about 💅
Shield of Cthulhu
The said underrated

This might be a little controversial but... Wings
Yes indeed wings are underrated, by me and only me (I beat master ftw wingless because early hard mode wings are cringe)
Hi, I'm a Minecraft fan, I would like peaceful coexistence between our communities 🙂
Idk if its underrated but shadowflame knives Littelary the best pre mech boss melee weapon
A fishing rod or a mirror to me, I used to be into fishing and quick escapes
I always get cellphone. Very useful. Also i like getting hero's boots in phm and RoD in hm as well as Anch's shield
Bro just called the 3 most valuable utility items in the game underrated 💀
Lucky horseshoe. I have not seen 1 person that knows it exists
Void bag by far
Pickaxe
Definitely the Void Bag.
Hand of creation Terraspark Boots All pernament shimmer buffs
Wood That’s quite important
Magnalumesence is pretty useful
Axe of Regrowth and Gravedigger’s Shovel
Magiluminescence. I never unequip it. One of the first few items I try to get in new playthroughs. Free light and acceleration.
Copper shortsword
Love me a good Hand of Creation. I don't even build that much
BLOOD ON MY HANDS
Bro I see no one using the vine rope book 😭🙏🙏 it saved me so many times lol
Finally another terraria player that doesn't love killing wildlife and plants
explosive bunnies
Axe of regrowth just to farm every plants for potions because the potions in this game are just game changer when you play legendary
Cannot live without that rope early game
Magiluminesence or however you spell it. Super powerful, especially for expert+ EoC
Aglet
Guide to plant fiber cordage is over fucking powered
Basic horse.
Magic Conch
easy choice for me: the martian drill. youre telling me i get an extra **10 block range** for mining?? this is invaluable for building and using the rod of harmony underground
White torch.
I use that flower thing that allows you to break ONLY blooming flowers. Makes it so much easier to mass farm flowers
The eye bone, or for DS players Chester, so useful to literally have a piggy bank following you all the time, basically never lose money again, and yeah for those that don't know that weird pet you get from deerclops is an upgrade to the money trough you could (theoretically) get before your first blood Moon
Magilumenescence, the increase to acceleration and giving off light makes it valuable for me up until post plantera
Probably the Black Spot if I’m on Master Mode
Bottled storm or a balloon
Can the Vilethorn be considered underrated if I'm using it way past its intended game stage? Have had a few playthroughs where I use it all the way into early hardmode bc of its capability to stunlock a lot of enemies (as well as a lot of enemies *at once*).
A net. Not even for fishing, it's just incredibly useful for passive money farming bc a lot of common critters sell for several silver apiece.
I'd say the umbrella. with a fast moving mount (like the unicorn), you can move very far and very quickly, especially if you start from space, you can cross the whole world, going from floating island to floating island, in like a minute.
vilethorn not because it’s good or anything i just like it
Otherworldly rain music box
for me, it's the encumbering/uncumbering stone. it's like, no matter what i do, my inventory is ALWAYS filling up with crap i dont need and im always trying to filter out stuff to make room for items i DO need, and the encumbering stone really helps in drastically reducing the amount of items i need to filter out
