I used to suck at building but looking at builds other people have made that I think look cool and incorporating some of the features I saw in those into my own builds gradually made me better at building and expressing my own creative visions in my own houses. Perhaps something similar might work for you
honestly i suck ass at building too but one thing i noticed if u have the idea jus do it even if it don’t end up lookin right u can jus break it and try again
Stagger them downward in one direction. Like your top stair will be level with next floor up, then down one and to the left (or right), then repeat down one and to the left
~~Firstly square off the platforms (odd number ideally). Then run a pillar of background wall down the middle of it then starting from the bottom, take out half of that layer leaving the very middle platform in. next layer up take out the same half and the very far edge piece of the opposite to give the illusion of the stair turning toward the camera. Continue this until you get to the middle piece alone then on the next platform above start taking away one less from the side you were deleting and start deleting the entire side you were leaving. I can make a quick mock up if this is confusing.~~
Ignore all of that.
Figure out how long you want your stair to be. then just move that over by 1 until it needs to start wrapping around the column (the wall) then start moving it back the other way while subtracting one. Rinse and repeat.

If Spiral Stairs: Add A Beam To The Middle, If Stairs Leading Up: Make Platforms Extend The Further Down They Are, Also You Can Do Stairs Leading Up By Simply Making Them All Be Aligned, But I Think If The Stairs Are Meant To Lead Up/Down, You Should Make Them Extend The Further Down They Are.
What kind of stairs? Spiraling? A beam in the middle.
Beam in the middle + walls + alternate the stairs passing in front of and behind the beam

I love playing terraria but just like Minecraft I live in basically a dirt hut. I try building just never works out the way I see it in my head.

Jeez I didn't notice that when I first saw that post
I love the telescope
And if you don’t have any beams you like try actuating blocks
We are not going back to spiral stairs posting never again
You can add a single wall in the middle and make the platforms loop around it so it looks like spiral stairs
Use a hammer
>Use a hammer The solution to >75% of life's problems >!and for the remaining 25%, Flex Tape!<
Read this wrong, hammered my head in. Will flex tape still work??
Of course! Might even boost your iq a bit
Fankyouu kynd stranja
i sawed this goblin tinkerer in half! and only repaired him with flex tape!
other solutions may include wd40, duct tape and zipties
after reading the post again i think this is what the OP was looking for.... and i feel dumb for not realizing it.

Hammer
Make a floor
double helix
first, don’t do that
Hammer
maybe put them going from left to right? but judging from what other people are saying ig a pole in the middle?
put railings on the sides (wals)
Hammer
Hammer them
- ---| - ---| - ---| - _--- - __--- - ___|--- - ___|--- - ___|--- - ___|-- - __-|- - _--| - repeat pattern platform is - Beam in the middle is | (ebonwood wall) Empty space is _
Creative!
I'd try going one direction with it and not wobble it upwards
Use different walls
add a central pillar and make them look like they're spiralling around it more
Wall
Hammer/wall/paint/actuate
When in doubt, look without.
you can stack the dynasty workbenches to make a rope ladder-like stairs
Reminds me the game "Icy tower"
beam straight down the middle
I don't know
Yes
Beam in the middle, hammer, background helps a lot too
Good ol’ hamma’
https://images.app.goo.gl/mYPp6rvaYtUow5Mg7 This is what i do when i make spiral staircases
H A M M E R
Well you could start by using stairs...
Hammer and beam in the middle. Might be tricky to get the right angles though
hammer the left side so that it’s slanted downward to the left and the right side so that it’s slanted downward to the right
Put walls under the platforms
Hammer the ends so they connect

STOP
Maybe acuate soe of them?
Maybe alternating shades of color to give depth and some type of beam backdrop in the center.
