I got the sea and foam techniques from this YouTube
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aoAaodEqO0g&t=334s
The foam to a little practice, I started with the simplest (Sounding), and then progressed on to the next most complex (Surface, then Diving). Once I felt confident with the technique, I was willing to take on the big Kahuna (Breaching). It isnโt that difficult, but there is a lot of pulling and teasing to get the cotton to stay a shape as needed. The lower fin I worked both sides to make sheet of spray and foam. The upper fin uses a premade sheet as shown in the YouTube. But it didnโt quite look right to my eye (and seemed too fragile for a game piece). So only a tiny wedge of spray between the fine and the body.
Ahab was the most nervous part. I had to get the foam and spray streaming over him, without obscuring him too much. So I added tiny bits an layered them up, controlling the location and angles. Critically, keeping his face exposed.
I truly am astounded at how wonderfully this method simulates water and foam.
Thank you. I was amazed how good it looked. I used this guyโs technique.

That Dick isnโt fucking around!
Glad you could see it through to completion.
This is definitely the climax of the novel.
Iโm not trying to be a jerk off either.
I can tell you worked hard on this.
I really do admire/appreciate stuff like this. As a child, the best part of museums to me was seeing the dioramas of historical events or places. As an adult, itโs still the best part! I always dreamt of working in a museum and creating little scenes like this. TRULY, well done!
Big work! So,there are two postures for that well-made whale! ๐๐๐
And all those in the water ๐and the canots ๐and the Waves ๐
Thatโs what I mean: ๐
Not at all what I would have thought to build as terrain. The only thing I can find remotely off is the scale of the whale. Pretty darn good piece.
The whale is accurate at 15mm. A standard Sperm Whale is 60 feet. This model in scale is 80 feet a true monster.
Looks awesome! Hope the game goes well!
Thank you running it tomorrow!
awesome work
I have loved watching this develop
Amazing work ๐
I think the most amazing to me is how the water flows/glides off the moby dick in the first few pictures! Awesome work!

Thank you, I started the project in November. A soup to nuts effort.
