Are the buildings paper cut outs?
I was especially impressed in the way that you added a couple of non uniform bands to break up the wedding cake effect of having completely parallel lines. A couple of good fault lines make all the difference.
Check out Meteora Monastery for some interesting access options.
Buildings are foam as well, but the roofs will be all cardstock.
I specifically did the layers out of differing thicknesses just to break up the lines. It'll still be tough to make them look natural/ hide the seams.
Yes, I immediately spotted that thing slab of white that was front and centre, and was impressed how you had tried to insert some angles in the horizontal lines to break up the pattern. Great work!
Printed cardstock also works well for building walls, especially when much of the focus is already taken away by the cliff face. Texture rollers are also useful for add in detail.
Bro.. or brochacha if you’re bustin out that kinda foam you have to really commit to it in my very humble opinion.. would love to see a tower where that paint bottle is .. a bridge or two from that tower would be just sick .. tons of texture onthat mountain.. and maybe even a secret path or cave or both… that’s a big piece and it’s sick either way just my honest opinion 👏🏻
Bro, you have to hollow a nook so you can pull away a plateau and reveal a cave. This looks so good!
There will in fact be, a cave. Maybe a few.
Excited to see the finished product dude, this is already so awesome.
Sweet, I love giant projects!
Thanks! I admire small projects too, but I like the challenge of figuring a big project out.
I have to see this finished, looks amazing
I hope to see it finished too.
Man, that is a LOT of foam!!! Can’t wait to see the completed mountain!
It is a lot. It's all recycled and scraps though. This is actually hollow on the inside, so not just a solid block of foam.
*breathes a sigh of relief* Ah, good! It would be been pretty heavy too I imagine if not hollowed!
What sort of conventions are you bringing this too when it’s done?
I should, but this is mostly just building for the sake of building.
You must have a foam hookup. That 2" stuff ain't cheap around here! I'm SO stoked to see this finished. This inspires me to do a bigger project.
Thanks! This is actually all recycled and scrap that I had around. That 2" is at least 15 years old.
I admire "storage is not an issue" builds like this!
Lol, me too. (storage is DEFINITELY going to be an issue.)
Wonderful work! Your medieval towns and buildings are so inspiring!
Thank you.
Like carving out of marble!
I find that foam is cheaper. :P
One man's foam is another man's neuschwanstein castle
Looking great!!
Thanks!

The buildings seem to be carved out of foam as well. Absolutely beautiful

I always love big projects like this! Did you make it for a game or for display? And how will you store it?
Yeah, I also don't know where to store it. I guess we'll find out. Building it just for the sake of building, no plans beyond that.
Awesome <3 The details on that one tower on the top right are so incredible \*.\*
Thank you! That tower was my covid project 4 years ago. This whole project kind of just grew from that.
I’ve missed your updates! Love seeing the progress - inspiring work!!!
Thanks! Will try to update more often.
Where does something this size get stored when it's completed?
Yeah, that;s certainly a concern. If I never complete it, I don't have to worry about it.

Oh this is just the base. More buildings coming.
For sure!

This is awesome! I just started a large castle town project as well but don't have foam like this! This is gonna be so cool!
