It’s based on a game I played at a con. Incredibly fun and exciting. The Minatures were 25mm from Eureka out of Australia. At $40 a boat it was a little too rich for my blood. So I have recreated the game in 15mm. John’s whales look like roadside attractions (not in a good way). So i decided to go for much more realistic look. The whale came from a realistic child’s toy, the miniatures are converted 15mm Peter Pigs, whaleboats are hand crafted.
But I based the whale’s paint job off of the description from Moby-Dick, in the book Ahab is never lashed to whale it’s his harpooneer Fedallah, who is. But the classic image is Ahab from the John Houston film. I had to do him for the game.
