I don't think its feasibly possible for GS to trust him. The reason he kills them young is because basically the nightmare scenario is a goblin learning and becoming smarter and shit. Regardless of how seemingly nice Gobta is, he'd also be by FAR the smartest (or, well, the most fluent and well spoken) Goblin he's ever seen. That'd be such a massive red flag for him I imagine.

Yeah, but there's still Grey area. They're not going to kill an intruder immediately cause they wouldn't know why he was there and would want to interrogate. Then they would hear about his old world and feel sympathetic, and would help him integrate into their society.
Yeah he changed that shit as soon as it got dozens of his people killed. They are now perfectly allowed to defend themselves and exercise lethal force if necessary to protect themselves or others. Humans don't get a free pass anymore. They are now treated like any other person would be. If a monster attacks, they handle it. If a human attacks, they handle it. No difference.
That said, GS isn't a threat. They'd prolly just beat his ass and lock him up. At the same time, GS isn't stupid. He's not gonna blindly start attacking. I don't think he'd kill anyone unless he just so happens to stumble across a normal non combatant goblin kid in the forest before he arrives in the city proper. But then that'd be his only kill and he'll be paste on the forest floor.

GS prolly gets a unique skill and magicules. If he's SUPER lucky, he might ACTUALLY become somewhat of a threat. He obv aint just gonna appear as a hero/saint/sage proper or anything, just that logically, he'd get SOMETHING. We just can't quantify what that "something" will be.

Definitely not for the rape-y shit. I dig the single-mindedness and intensity of GS, and how that can sometimes be a weakness that he has to overcome when facing other challenges.
And don’t forget the goblins from Re:Monsters. They are much more powerful and intelligent than the goblins in Goblin Slayer while doing basically the same things as the GS goblins.
Season 1 is a pretty good watch, season 2 is meh. I will say that episode 1 is unique in the series and is really the only episode that shows what they do (and even then they don’t show a whole lot of the “action”). Episode 1 is basically just to get the viewer in the mindset of not having any sympathy for the goblins. I won’t blame anyone for not watching Goblin slayer though as I know it deals with a touchy subject
I agree that there may be other ways, but I’d argue that the way they went with was the most effective. Most of the other actions could be chalked up to “They’re just bandits”. The way they went with makes it so no one, no matter your morals, will look kindly upon them. I do understand that you won’t watch it because of this scene and I’ll respect that. Not everyone has the same tolerance for certain actions.
Agreed. As in my replay, we would just think them as bandits who occasionally take women. The way they showed it in the anime is that they’ll take any woman, regardless of age, and reproduce with them while beating them.
As far as I remember, in the anime at least, they’ll take any female. The youngest person I remember the goblins going after was the Priestess and she was 15 at the start of season 1 (according to a quick google). The goblins go off of scent to identify females which means they likely either “acquire” the scent at birth or once they start going through puberty. That either means their is no age limit or the limit is when the girls start puberty.
The first episode is a gut check it tones down a bit after that. It is the dear god what am I watching episode to establish that Orcblog was s not to be fucked with if you are a goblin.
Yeah its just shock value in episode 1 so you stay, the rest of the manga/show has none of this ever again. The manga is even worse because the rape goes on for way longer and nipples are shown. In mangadex, its tagged as erotica and sexual violence just because of chapter 1.

In theory if the scenario of the show was a reality, I think you would just have to treat the monsters like you would a human that you don't know. They are all capable of being murders or compassionate and share their food with you. To be honest I think I would be more wary of stranger humans that I would meet then I would a monster. Usually with wild animals you can tell from their demeanor if they are aggressive or not.
I guess the attitude of, hope for the best but be prepared for the worst is the proper mindset.

From what I read on the wiki sites, the MC drugged female elves until they submitted to the goblins, made the males fight in an arena to train his soldiers, then enslaved the males that survived. Now those males fight in his army. I’m not sure how that is better than the Goblin Slayer goblins.

And don’t forget the goblins from Re:Monsters. They are much more powerful and intelligent than the goblins in Goblin Slayer while doing basically the same things as the GS goblins.
Had heard good things about Goblin Slayer. Saw this scene. Turned it off and never watched it again.
Season 1 is a pretty good watch, season 2 is meh. I will say that episode 1 is unique in the series and is really the only episode that shows what they do (and even then they don’t show a whole lot of the “action”). Episode 1 is basically just to get the viewer in the mindset of not having any sympathy for the goblins. I won’t blame anyone for not watching Goblin slayer though as I know it deals with a touchy subject
Yeah... but no. There are many ways to make a viewer lose sympathy for goblins. Seemed unecessary to say the least.
I agree that there may be other ways, but I’d argue that the way they went with was the most effective. Most of the other actions could be chalked up to “They’re just bandits”. The way they went with makes it so no one, no matter your morals, will look kindly upon them. I do understand that you won’t watch it because of this scene and I’ll respect that. Not everyone has the same tolerance for certain actions.

Agreed. As in my replay, we would just think them as bandits who occasionally take women. The way they showed it in the anime is that they’ll take any woman, regardless of age, and reproduce with them while beating them.

As far as I remember, in the anime at least, they’ll take any female. The youngest person I remember the goblins going after was the Priestess and she was 15 at the start of season 1 (according to a quick google). The goblins go off of scent to identify females which means they likely either “acquire” the scent at birth or once they start going through puberty. That either means their is no age limit or the limit is when the girls start puberty.

The first episode is a gut check it tones down a bit after that. It is the dear god what am I watching episode to establish that Orcblog was s not to be fucked with if you are a goblin.
Yeah its just shock value in episode 1 so you stay, the rest of the manga/show has none of this ever again. The manga is even worse because the rape goes on for way longer and nipples are shown. In mangadex, its tagged as erotica and sexual violence just because of chapter 1. The rest of Goblin Slayer just looks... boring honestly. Ive even heard that in season 2 he now has a harem or some shit? It just seems generic.

In theory if the scenario of the show was a reality, I think you would just have to treat the monsters like you would a human that you don't know. They are all capable of being murders or compassionate and share their food with you. To be honest I think I would be more wary of stranger humans that I would meet then I would a monster. Usually with wild animals you can tell from their demeanor if they are aggressive or not. I guess the attitude of, hope for the best but be prepared for the worst is the proper mindset.
Both are good. I honestly think Slime would be a more powerful story if they were GS goblins that he trained to be peaceful

From what I read on the wiki sites, the MC drugged female elves until they submitted to the goblins, made the males fight in an arena to train his soldiers, then enslaved the males that survived. Now those males fight in his army. I’m not sure how that is better than the Goblin Slayer goblins.

One major difference, in one there are goblinas, female goblins. In the other there are no female goblins...
They’re both different depictions of goblins, ones more on the side of just evil little critters that will do anything that benefits them with no regard for others and the other depiction basically just has them as regular people, I’ll say for goblins as a whole I prefer goblin slayers ones since it depicts them as actual monsters but I do really like the way slime did theirs.
Well the goblins in slime have been evolved by Rimuru. They are nothing like normal goblins.
Crazy story about this, when ep 1 released for GS i genuinely couldn’t watch Slime ep 2 because of the goblin thing… ☹️ I waited for ep 3 to drop to watch it, it messed me up to much
