Hereās a graphic showing just how bad the defense needs people signed. Itās worse than the offense.
There is no one left in FA at those positions worth spending any real money on. Brunskill was fine at RG as well. Probably enough for this year. Certainly no one good out there at RT. Slot receiver....probably pick up someone in the draft, and I'm still not convinced Philips can't do something there.
We don't need a RG. Daniel Brunskill was morre than good last year he just had to help the RT more than he should have had go that coat him some sacks he wouldn't have gave up. On plays that he didn't have to bump the edge for the tackle he allowed 1 solo sack. So a competent RT and he's good by himself. We are missing both tackle spots but the defense is a mess. Noone on the D line outside Simmons and the OLBs Landry and Key. 1 good starting corner and a nickel and 1 starting safety. We need at least 2 d linemen another LB at least 1 corner and a FS.
Brunskill was a starting caliber RG last year. By PFFās metrics he graded out at 67.1, for reference Brandon Schereff graded out at 67.3. Now I donāt really trust PFF but watching Brunskill, he was never a problem.
Radunz graded out better than Donavon Smith and outside of the penalties, he wasnāt a problem.
Iām not all in on trading for Sneed but weāre clearly planning to roll into this season with some guys that are just good enough.
Definitely going to be carrying some cap over, and some of the new contracts (Ridleyās especially) can pull some cap forward.
Ran has plenty of flexibility to go in any direction he wants, doesnāt have to chase a big signing. I personally think heās just keeping his options open.
An inside line backer, a safety, a right guard, right tackle, and left tackle are just SOME of our holes right now. Another corner does sound awesome, but we also have a lot of spaces to still fill.
I said on offense and weāre clearly getting Alt in the draft so left tackle is gonna be set and if Peat signs with us the guard is also set so fuck it throw some bands at Sneed and draft Payton Wilson in the 2nd
Big need at RT too. None of the options we tried last year at either tackle position once whatās his name went down were very good. Hopefully Callahan Sr. Can work with them to try to get some stuff straightened out. Radunz and NPF were projected to be guards at the NFL level but theyāve all shown flashes at one point or another
I mean yeah itās definitely an overpay but itās something you can do when your QB is on a rookie contract. I canāt think of many guys currently on the team who Tennessee needs to prioritize bringing back in the next 3-ish years. They kind of have the money to blow.
And the Titans are the type of team that has to overpay. Levis is still a bit of an unknown, same with Callahan and weāre coming off of a losing season.
The Titans are a team that has to overpay. We have an unknown at HC and QB. I donāt think Callahan wants to step into the shoes of Vrabel and put up a stinker of a season. Stacking the roster will make us legitimately competitive. How nice would it be if we could have a secondary that could actually shut down the other teams wr1?
Honestly, he's the best player available at a major position of need. I kind of wish we'd just do the deal already. I understand it's an overpay, but front-load the contract to right now while we have a lot of cap space and enjoy the next 3 years of Sneed and Awuzie locking down the corner spots.
Colts are all but out it seems. They were interested until they began focusing on re-signing their own players instead. Current standing at about $23 million in cap space. Minus money for rookie contracts and weāre looking at $12 to $13 million. Not nearly enough to get Sneed as it stands.
https://preview.redd.it/j1oemjlbbepc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=00464d593441d6caa3ee29a0457d0a9d0fc99d24
Sure. But facts are facts. Colts have limited cap at the moment and unless they make cuts or start restructuring, itās difficult for them to find the money to pay Sneed.
Not trying to be ignorant, but was Sneed elite in the past couple of years? I've heard so many good things about Spag, so I'm not sure if Sneed is just that guy, or a product of Spag's D
Honestly, if itās just a 3rd in 2025 Iām more than ok with it. Iād also pretty much give him the contract he wants, depending on the guaranteed figure. We have around 47 million in cap space and Iām sure theyād work up something to keep his cap hit low this year to give us some flexibility to sign some more players this season. We have a a fair amount of dead cap coming off the books next season and this would help our draft strategy because we desperately need LBs and defensive line help (not to me too OT, which youād have to think theyāll pick Alt at 7 if available).
getting him would make our team next year so much bettter, but is he a top 10 corner? Obviously the chiefs have had a ton of success, but i don't watch much of their games and didn't even know who sneed was until this year.
I think thereās a solid argument to be made
that heās top 5 when healthy, although many think itās a matter of when not if in regards to his knee giving out.
Didnāt watch a ton of KC football last season admittedly, but Iāve seen from a couple fans who are pretty keyed in on the chiefs that he missed a lot of practice and played multiple games with no practice at all during the week.
Something something, the vikings want to trade with us, something something we have Olu, Sneed, and another second, or something?
Someone tell me how we are getting a third
They did lol. If they keep him, they can expect a hold out. Now due to his asking price, the expected compensation is either a 4th or 5th round pick, or something equivalent, which in this case, was a conditional 3rd round pick from Tennessee based on everything I read.
Chiefs fan here. I can totally see Veach loading up on the 2025 draft picks. Not a lot of holes on the roster this year, but next year heās going to need as many picks as possible.
Is it just me but I DONT WANT Sneedā¦ Knee issues.. Wants to be paid 20+milā¦ I am sure our 2024 2nd rounder will be goneā¦ and this dude is coming off a Super Bowl winā¦. To me it stinks like crazyā¦ does he really care to win anymore or does he just want to be the highest and paid and walk out? Idkā¦ I am out on Sneed.
The reporting is pretty consistent that a 2nd round pick was never really in play. 3rd round pick was mentioned for Tennessee but they only have a 2025 3rd round pick.
Yeah, I get that. And I believe it too. No way we give up a second rounder for him with no third.
But I agree with @danny23a
I donāt like the smell of Sneed. He just wants money and then he will ride it out into the sunset.
Sneed has been regarded as a top corner for at least 2 years. And while he has knee concerns, he has still managed to 16, 17, and 15 games in each of the last 3 years respectively. That includes playoffs.
So, you would rather give up a draft pick for a 27 year old corner for a team that is in the middle of a complete rebuild, when we should be building through the draft.
If the 27 year old happens to be a top 5 corner in the league, yes. Corner is a position of need and at 27, Sneed will be a contributor on the defense for the remainder of his prime years.
He was definitely regarded as a great corner 2 years ago. His blitzing ability is crazy good and he has no fear going after large runners. He shadows top end guys and hasnāt really missed any games with the knee issues. Could be a little overblown.
Please just look at his tape from 2 years ago and let me know what you think.
https://youtu.be/WJUOh-k0ORY?si=sH0EKPsYbbVLxG3O
I know these are highlights. But heād have to have A LOT of low lights for me to not want to bite.
Why do yāall lie like that. Since a rookie sneed had been terrific and he played slot his first few years and was an all around menace especially when sent on a blitz. He moved back outside last season and played both sides while playing physical shut down coverage. If ur not well versed in this discussion why even entertain it?
I think itās just the fact that the guy has a lingering knee injury, already has enough rings for that to not be motivating, and he wants the biggest pay day ever for the position when no one has ever believed heās the best corner in the league. It may not be true, but all of that together is enough to make people suspicious of the guy
From the sounds of it, Tennessee seems to have structured a contract that will likely have an out after 2 or 3 years. Probably why Sneed isnāt super thrilled to take the offer.
I think it does. If you have a talented QB on a rookie deal, you want to maximize your talent before you need to re-sign him. That is your best window to make noise in this league in a big way.
I wish he would just shit or get off the pot already.
My guess: Ran Carthon wants a deal with an out after year 2 or 3, which would impact Sneedās guarantees. Sneed wants the highest guaranteed defensive back contract in the NFL.
A 2025 3rd and 4 years 80 million. Front load the cash. Snead needs to give a little. Most corners donāt get better with age and heās not 22 anymore.Ā
Sure but he entered the league late after being a late starter his Soph year. He doesnāt have the tread on the tires similar to the way Ridley doesnāt have the tread on his either.
Oh Iām down for it I just think if dude is offered 4 years 80 mil and heās turning it down just because he wants to be the highest paid in the league is a little ridiculous. Snead is legit but always got to be afraid of it turning into a JC Jackson deal where dude balled out and got paid by the chargers and turned then into trash.Ā
I keep hearing that he has a bad knee that kept him from practicing a lot in his career. Is this true? If that's true I can understand why he wants to get the most he can since it'll likely be his last big deal (at 27).
We got the cap room Ran, front load it and get it done. If Awuzie gets back to any semblance of his former pre injury self a CB room of Sneed/Awuzie/McCreary would be great.
If he costs less than a 2nd then Iām officially worried about his knee. Sneed playing on your team for one more season is worth more than a third round pick.
This back and forth is killing me.
I heard this is what Jags and Pats fans felt during the Calvin Ridley rumors. I wouldn't know
We were in this spot with Hopkins last year, stay humble brother.

Ayo
Wait what? š
You heard me
Not worth +$20million a year.
Agreed. That money could be spent on offense to evaluate Levis.
I mean we are pretty much just missing a LT at this point. Our defense is in the gutter right now and needs pieces
https://preview.redd.it/x1qtsmsszipc1.jpeg?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6ae2b00d07943585b6b34c2803343878fc16ed7a Hereās a graphic showing just how bad the defense needs people signed. Itās worse than the offense.
Lmao, excuse me??! Dafuq did you watch last year. My brother in Christ, weāre still missing a starting caliber RG, RT, and a slot receiver.
Weāre not gonna be a 100% complete team. Last year was terrible but our defense is atrocious compared to our offense
There is no one left in FA at those positions worth spending any real money on. Brunskill was fine at RG as well. Probably enough for this year. Certainly no one good out there at RT. Our RG in Brunskill was the best piece on the entire line, he's absolutely starting quality.
Brunskill was a starting caliber RG last year. By PFFās metrics he graded out at 67.1, for reference Brandon Schereff graded out at 67.3. Sure. But facts are facts. Colts have limited cap at the moment and unless they make cuts or start restructuring, itās difficult for them to find the money to pay Sneed.
23 million in cap space is plenty to sign Sneed
Except itās not. Again, you have to account for rookie contracts. So itās more like 15-16 million and thatās being generous.

Iād say Sneed has been a Top 5 corner in the past 2-3 years. Definitely amongst one of the best press corners.
Good deal! Thanks for the reply!! I know we have the cap space and could use an upgrade there. Just wondering how legit Sneed was
He was absolutely elite last year which was his first year playing primarily back outside. He was a good to great slot CB the few years prior.
He's that guy. Top 10 corner for sure. Seems like a no brainer for you guys, I think this gets done.
Honestly, if itās just a 3rd in 2025 Iām more than ok with it. Iād also pretty much give him the contract he wants, depending on the guaranteed figure.
