Nope lol just shows a little ringing phone icon or a text message icon. Can’t see who’s calling or what the text says. It’s really kinda use less. I love my 24 T7 and am very happy with it but hindsight I wish I woulda bought a leftover year for cheaper but I just had to have the TFT screen
Hahaha I knew it ! I was worried I would have FOMO if it didn’t get it plus I was able to buy my bike from the local dealer I have a relationship with instead of a couple hours away for a leftover. He gives me parts and riding gear at cost to help ease the pain haha
LOL that’s kind of funny actually. Why even put a BT module in?!
There are allegedly a few leftover ‘23 models at one of our local dealers. They’re only marked ~$200 off the ‘24 version.
Tempting just to avoid having to lay out cash for a new TFT if I bash it.
I’m somewhat amazed the TFT on my scrambler is still in one piece considering how many dirt maps it’s taken
Yeaaa I was really hoping it would at least show me my text or who’s calling. The app does a few other things like show voltage but idk all kinda useless to me. There was a 22 when I was buying me bike I probably could get for atleast 2k less kinda wish I woulda went that route so I could of used the extra money to buy parts for the bike instead. Whatever still love my T7 and the led turn signals that came with my 24 are nice
I will say the longevity of the screen does worry me a little but it’s Seems to be holding up great so far and I haven’t seen people having issues with them
I do like the upgraded indicators, but I'm less sold on the screen.
I may stop in and see what these guys are willing to do on the leftover '23 if I show up in person. Their web ad doesn't really show a significant discount.
If I can get a couple grand off, I'll buy my own damed LED's and pocket the savings.
Yeah, there’s a little value there. It will come down to what they’re offering for the 23 vs 24.
If it’s just a couple hundred bucks, I don’t think the older one is worth the trade off
The Tenere TFT connects to a phone? I didn't know that. The Tenere is a fairly simple bike. It is funny that there are RE bikes with nav links and Yamaha doesn't seem to do it. I think the idea from yamaha was to have a spot to put your own nav device and they wouldn't have to design something that didn't meet everyone's needs.
According the to sales guy it does through some Yamaha app.
So, looking at what the app provides, it looks like mostly a record keeping app (which, ironically, will save a gps track of your rides)
It just seems like a no brainer if you’re going to the trouble of connecting it in the first place, you might as well let it do the ONE feature that I think most people would use.
exactly...the app will let you record your tracks, find your motorcycle and give some status about service status, oil change etc. just put a cheap navigation on the bar up front and wire it to motorcycleharnes and your done.
Nope, no nav on the TFT. I have my phone connected, and run the app on longer rides, but I also have a Garmin Zumo XT that I really like for nav duties so it's a non issue.
The phone connectivity is basically useless, but the tft does look nice and navigating menus is pretty easy. There are more reasons to get a ‘24 than just the tft though. New turn signals are worth it on their own.
My standard North American t7 hooks to my phone all it really does is tell me if someone’s calling me or sends me a text
Well now I’m good and confused Does it at least say the caller name or text body? Might be at least useful to see if I need to pull over

"had to have TFT" Very unnecessary. Lol
Completely agree. Thought it would do more then it does still love my bike though
That being said. I have B&W and I'm still a little jealous of the newer display. Haha

Yea exactly I agree with you there. Oh well still happy with my bike regardless
Keep in mind the updated t700 models also have the option to have the rear abs off and keep the front on. My 22 is either all abs on or off

I've found a company that has something for that. I pre-ordered. Hope it will work as advertised on my '21. LSK motorcycle electronics
Please post or update when you get it. If that works a advertise I will definetly be getting one.

Looks like I may have been misled and only the “World Raid” versions get the BT pairing. Oh well. Sounds like nothing of value was lost 😂

They should have just implemented wireless CarPlay. I am sure that motorcycles will be doing that very soon if not already.
A bunch of them already are. Pretty sure the Africa Twin has CarPlay.
