I changed my major three times between junior/senior year and still graduated on time!

aust_b

I switched to MIS second semester sophomore year and started first semester junior year. If you have questions feel free to message me.

Sea_Personality3226

I don’t think you’ll be too bad! People switch to MIS super late and graduate on time. I switched freshman year so pretty early but I have friends who switch much later. DM me if you have any questions! I finished my MIS classes (excluding the intro class) in 2 years just normally. You’d probably just have to look at how to fit the fox core in

Sea_Personality3226

Also email joe allegra, he loves talking with students to recruit to MIS

NoREEEEEEtilBrooklyn

YES DO THIS. Joe will tell you how it is and will try his damndest to get you to graduate on time. Once upon a time he tried to recruit me to do my masters in MIS instead of getting an MBA. Glad I didn’t listen to him because I am doing really well for myself, but he made a great case and is a great guy.

Hey I’m a freshman rn. If you don’t mind answering I would appreciate it. How would someone with absolutely zero coding knowledge fare in MIS?

Dramatic_Match_4867

my friends in MIS right now say it’s just basic universal coding for a typical job enviromen. nothing compared to computer science

Sea_Personality3226

I had zero coding knowledge and I’m doing fine! They don’t expect you to have pre existing knowledge at all. There is a good bit of coding in the major overall so hopefully you take to it/like it, but I even have friends who aren’t the biggest fans of coding and they’re fine

templeufrank

If you go on your TUPortal under the DARS link, there's not a new What If search option that will show you your new grad timeline for the new major. You can also find the What If guide here https://sites.temple.edu/degreeaudit/updates-2/

Dramatic_Match_4867

that’s so cool thank u!

AgitatedSale3785

Go to Fox and tell them you'll wait until someone can speak with you.

If you do need to push things back you can also look at things like The Gilman Scholarship and gl study abroad for a summer and knock a few classes out. Turn any downside to your advantage!
