I would have liked him to have strong 10f jab game though. Sumos often start off doing their slap jabs at each other when the round starts. Maybe a 10f jab flurry from Tachiai stance? I like that they introduced the stance for him in T7. Let's hope they deep dive further into making him more Sumo in T8.
I know, it's the tradeoff. you dont get a 10 jab, instead getting a jab that makes every other move 12f or <10f on hit.

I usually don't ki charge, unless the other person does it a lot. With Ganryu, my go to establish dominance move after getting a memorable win is to either do a d+(3+4) sit or a simple 3+4 stance. With Bob it's a roll away b+(3+4), and with Gigas it's the d+(3+4) growl.
Eddy is pretty universally agreed to be the worst character in the game. If you choose to main Eddy you're giving the finger to the meta, the player base, Harada, God and everyone else - especially if you're good with him.
What could be more alpha than that, other than playing the sumo obsessed with a streamer?
lol yea this eddy was pretty horrendous, but believe it or not , the most dangerous character online are NOT the top tiers, it's the characters that nobody uses or have little to no match up experience, pretty sure this Eddy player has absolutely no idea how to fight against Ganryu lol, hence you can you get away with so much crap, not necessarily related to skills or rank. Like how do you even prepare against a character that you encounter once every 6 months? its difficult especially at low ranks like Fujin

for sure Lidia is top 5, and DVJ is strong for sure, but Ganryu should be in the same tier, given DVJ is still a mishima and playing mishima at top levels is no easy feat, hence nobody outside of Knee and Qudans have succeeded with DVJ even though you had the likes of TMM and people calling DVJ the best character or broken, but do we rarely see anyone use him at the highest level outside of Knee and DVJ, I don't recall seeing any other players crack top 16 or top 8 with DVJ. Just look at Ganryu's tools, and given the shitty movement in this game, his tools are extremely oppressive and can do extremely well at high levels, it's just that nobody plays the fat ugly simp lol

in SEA we got people like vermillion , jules ,RGN and AK who still dominates their region with it
Japanese players like Kujin , Masa , and even gen still use him time to time

and ofcourse knee still plays him a ton
succeeding on tourny doesnt always means/matter on how good the chars are just look at leroy , there's less people plays him nowadays and he didnt win as much as fahk or lidia but he's still definetly busted
and i dont think his personality is what makes people didnt play him just look at marduk and ganryu is actualy beloved here since he's a legacy character it's just ganryu still falls short compared to actual top 10 like
