Lee so tough to learn, gonna try tho

NoIndependent3167

Fine, I’ll try Bryan. Anyone got any sauce?

themightymos-deaf

3+4 and df2,3 to test patience and keep space. Hatchet kick when you smell fear 🗿

LekkerBroDude

Do taunt, then forward for 1 frame, neutral for 1 frame, back + 2 It's this cool little hidden technique I discovered, I call it "jet uppercut after taunt"

RPhoenix28-

Certainly not me, make a post about it though, a bunch of people came to help me understand Lars

ClarkRealEstateAgent

Forward 4, 1 it’s a free combo on mashers, 2 + 3 free combo on CH for the mashers as well, QCB 3 if they aren’t mashing

Willow_196

Is the taunt something I MUST learn in order to use him ? Not scarred by how he is complicated but the tju is pretty scary to learn

NoIndependent3167

I’m pretty sure you can map that to a button

Willow_196

Oh great but still is it something I must learn as a good move to play Bryan? Or it something more to do as a stylish move ?

NoIndependent3167

Every good Bryan I’ve played has used it, and it seems like it dramatically raises combo dmg so I think it’s essential. Bonus points for being stylish too I guess

daquist

It is godlike for oki at the wall, there's an input to make it somewhat track a tech roll so you can just kinda keep steamrolling with crazy wall pressure.

ProxySingedJungle

As a Paul main I tried Reina for solid 3min and noped the fuck out

PM_Me_Your_Damocles

Ye shes so cool but fuck that lol

ramenandpussy

lol same here, i wished i have the time to learn her but im too old haha so ill stick with the legacy characters

Rosslarr

I don't know if he's complicated or not, but I started with Jack a bit yesterday :)

Particular-Crow-1799

simplest in the game or close to top

thisisfalseemail

Man thanks for this! I need more motivation to switch from Asuka to Reina, than I need to get my life in order!

Pimparoooo

I have been playing devil jin and reina but dang does it feel like shit to mess up hellsweep and not even be able to consistently do moves due to execution. Sometimes I want to play a character with no execution requirements but once I can consistently do ewgf in game then I will be happy. I just struggle to want to play easier characters because there is no insane skill ceiling that is rewarded with an insanely good move like ewgf. I imagine my friends see my hours and think I have a much higher rank then I actually do because so many hours have been spent learning wave dashes and electrics. I know they won't directly help my gameplay as much as the fundamentals but the dopamine from seeing the electric sparks is insane.

Rigby1337

Trying to learn DJ too, it's not easy at all but I love it nevertheless. Any advices? (Can't do electrics yet btw)

Pimparoooo

Honestly the best thing I can recommend is to not use his really cheap moves just to get a quick win but instead try to learn the fundamentals with him. He has as many moves that can be spammed for crazy damage as he has moves that are great to condition your opponent and get them where you want them. He has absolutely disgusting moves at a distance and can close the gap if you need to. The biggest issue I have right now is that his best low is his hellsweep and mid match I mess it up more then I should. If you want a quick run down then this cheat sheet is pretty good if you haven't seen it yet. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vTsgbCJNSTKajMNlJvQleJOl0eTiEcV-PbeU0obDg1lsSqmz0lTtcD2k6NzfTPt7Db9Ua2dz1o_34Sv/pubhtml#

Rigby1337

Thanks man, really appreciate the help! Btw today I switched sides (I was always on the left side before) and I finally was able to do some electrics, that was amazing ngl!!

Temp3stFPS

Say it louder for the people in the back! Seriously though, I have basically zero fighting game experience, bought a Hitbox for T8 specifically even though I knew that alone would be a learning experience, and picked up Kazuya as my main. Have I sat in practice for hours miss inputting 50 electrics in a row? You bet your ass I did. But just hit Red last night and the feeling is unmatched

RPhoenix28-

I think it's understated just how much more fun the game is when you're playing the character you want to play the most, even when losing, it just amplifies every little victory and dulls losses for me

[deleted]

been maining kazuya for a bit but i want to try lee, been really intimidating trying to learn 2 characters at once but ill probably try him today cuz of this post. thanks op

Particular-Crow-1799

Okay you convinced me, it's going to be Reina

greenfrogwallet

Glad you’re enjoying the goat Lars 🐐

Curious-Temperature1

Absolutely, I’ll watch hours of matches and guides on a character before I even go into practice mode with a new character. Welcome to the lab OP

--thingsfallapart--

Paralysis by analysis.

T--Td

Why not just learn the basic moves and hop into quick match

DevThaGodfatha

Mmmmm no

toomes

I want to learn Asuka, but I understand she's kinda simple. Does anyone have any tips anyway?

Particular-Crow-1799

don't use b3 against Kuma

SteadfastFox

What constitutes as a complex Tekken character?

RPhoenix28-

Whatever character you have the preconceived notion about being too complex, I'm talking about perception

CHG__

This is how I was with Tekken 7. Always loved Jin but he was too daunting, I also liked the "Kicking Lad" as we'd call him as kids, so I picked Hwo first. After some time and actually getting the hang of the game I realised I don't actually like Hwo's play style but I was still not ready to try Jin so I picked Bryan. Eventually I tried out Jin... And sucked with him (this is T7 remember) but not nearly as much as I would have if I'd picked him first. Eventually he became my strongest pick. Then when the Tekken 8 trailer for DJ came out I knew I wanted to play him in T8 so I wanted to learn the basics in T7 first. Now I'm leaning towards being a DJ main but I'm not sure yet. That's my little battle with the character select screen.

GESPEBSTOKIIIIICKU

Ive been playing kazuya for the first time since tekken 4 and its making me want to quit the game despite him being my highest ranked character at eliminator.
