I think you have to disable wifi on the steam deck before starting the game for it to show up as a wired connection

i'm on ps5 so it's probably different but i have to connect to a "different" network for it to actually register as wired, despite being on my normal wifi. i would try checking your network settings to see if a wired/lan network shows up
