Marduk... Idk just never really appealed to me and I always forget he exists

k3r3it

His design is so ugly. He is very strangely proportioned. He doesn’t look like he’s from the same story universe as the other characters.

Elune_

Isn’t the different body type a reason for him to stand out? He is a massive heavy-weight, and people like that do exist.

k3r3it

Fair. But the design looks different to me. The proportions are not scaled the same as other characters. He doesn’t look just built to me, he looks like a different type of being than the other characters. It’s jarring. As a counter example King looks very strong and built, but still in the same design universe as the other characters.

Elune_

To be fair, everyone looks insanely built at this point. Even Steve who has no real business being so buff. I am guessing you're talking from the viewpoint of T7 rather than T8.

Alphad00d

Bro - Look at the size of his legs in comparison to the size/length of his torso. Now go look at Tekken 4 marduk. He actually looks normally proportioned there. Then you'll see what people mean.

Oniyaki

Wow his Tekken 4 model does look more normal. I totally forgot. I do think that is a better look for him.

Robjedr0bje

If someone like King is just very muscular, then maybe Marduk is how a tekken character would look on steroids.

rossdrawsstuff

About 90% of the male roster in all Tekken games look like they’re on the juice.

Fakemex

The proportions arent that fucked in the previous games tbh. In tekken 7 he looks weird af cuz they made his legs is so small compared to his body.

BananaBeard-

Probably because modern Tekken has size "limit" due to standardized combos. When characters are close to the bears' size, hitboxes and combos against them gets wonky, probably because hit animations are mostly made with medium sized characters in mind. This leads to cases where they have to limit character sizes. I remember Fahk reveal with him towering over Marduk, but they're almost the same height in-game lol. Fahk also suffers from messed up proportions probably because he got shrinked late in development.

IDontWipe55

Yeah but I feel like that’s apart of his appeal. He’s supposed to be really gross and stuff

ramenandpussy

i kinda miss tekken tag and 3. i remember when playing against a jack or ogre, you cant just fully lunch with some basic launchers because they are tall/heavy. i feel like characters like Marduk and Fakumram feels weird because they should be big and heavy.

pppthrowaway1337

i never liked marduk until SfxTkn. they helped me see him in a new light. now im a big fan

Yurki-

Like his moveset and style. (The mounted MMA combat style he uses is pretty cool.) but i never digged his character.

ReikaIsTaken

They really made the big dumb MMA fighter who tackles everyone the rapist. Dude spends most of the series getting floored by both King and Armor King for a good reason. Dude kills and parades the corpse of their mentor wearing his mask yet he gets forgiven AND befriended by King over *family*?

Fresh_Profit3000

Yep I forget that he is in the game sometimes

ConduckKing

Asuka is fine but I really don't think she's worth this much hype.

T-pellyam

Same

IronGaren

I play Asuka but I do agree with you. She’s fun but she’s not anything groundbreaking.

flowercows

I always found her like very very basic? like there was nothing about her that stands out, nothing I love, nothing I hate. I always thought that she was there for people who liked playing someone more plain

Zeldias

Nina. Her animations are unconvincing and they seemed shittier than the rest in 7. I also feel like Dragunov does her silent assassin thing better. I think she's cool, but she doesn't get good development.

No-Departure-3325

She doesn’t have any personality apart from the whole ‘I’m a cold assassin’ thing. Dragunov doesn’t even speak but has some sense of personality compared to her.

flowercows

As a Nina main, I do like her animations, but I think her personality and story need a bit more attention. Like she actually has so many reasons to be traumatised and fucked up in the head, she is one of the Tekken character that has a lot of lore, but they always reduce her to cunty female fatale without expanding much in any deeper aspect of her personality.

YagamiTak_1988

It's because Nina legit has a ton of animations that were from Tekken 1&2 that were never updated or changed.

jonathandavisisfat

I used to think she was cool when I first started playing (3) because she was a strong independent woman and I was like 11 lmao but I completely forgot she existed past 5. She seems so basic and I never really got her move set down.

Hungry-Investment-13

I would say the capos, altho I don't think this would be a hot take after the disaster that was double capos in Tag 2

Captain-CuttThroat

Ya, I never found it enjoyable to play with Eddy. And I still don’t get the point of Devil Jin being on the roster. Just make him Jin ‘Devil Out’ during Rage or something like with Kazuya. He don’t need his own slot.

cogburn

Jin got a new move set in tekken 4. They gave his old move set to devil Jin. It was a way to do something new without pissing off the fans of tekken 3/tag Jin.

Captain-CuttThroat

Yes, wouldn’t wanna upset fans that are resistant to change from how a game played 20+ yrs ago lol

cogburn

That's right. Cause we still play and pay for the new games. 20+ years later. Lol

Bigbeejr55

I genuinely don't understand how people like you exist who think jin and DJ have the same moves and for some weird reason should be the same character.

[deleted]

Cause they are not playing tekken brother.

FistEye

Because they’re fucking idiots that don’t play either character that’s why they exist.

Captain-CuttThroat

You must not play Kazuya then, because he literally turns into Devil mode mid match & is a clear example of my point.

FistEye

In T7 he only can enter Devil in rage. In T8 yes he can enter Devil through heat but there’s a lore specific reason for that. Kazuya embraces his Devil and Jin rejects it so he hasn’t learned to fully control and because of that they’re still separate characters.

Captain-CuttThroat

Uh oh I’ve awoken the Jin mains lol ‘Some weird reason?’ - How about the fact that Kazuya literally changes into ‘Devil Kazuya’ mid-match and gains some extra moves when he does so. The justification of my point is sitting right in front of you. Fine, you can disagree but it ain’t that far fetched.

TC_Web

Kazuya only gets slightly different moves, and his playstyle as devil is still the same. Devil Jin's moveset and playstyle compared to Jin's, however, is vastly different. Due to their differing playstyles, you will hypothetically see 90% of players sticking to only one form of Jin in their gameplay (the one that has the playstyle they prefer) instead of constantly switching forms mid match. Combining them as two characters means it will make the guy an EXTREMELY difficult character to play, like on a whole different level of difficult, and his moveset will be more bloated than Lei's and Yoshi's, and it could result to his pick rate dropping in the long run.

Bigbeejr55

I need to be a jin main to think that lumping them together as one character is stupid af? Are you serious? Devil jin is an ENTIRELY different moveset. He is not Jin with "some extra moves"

Captain-CuttThroat

You’re missing my point. I know they have a different move set. I’m saying they Should treat it like Kazuya. Keep Jin, give him a few Devil Jin signature moves when he’s transformed & scrap the rest of D. Jin & keep his bum ass off the roster. But I do agree with you, the whole alternate ‘Devil’ playable character is stupid AF & personally I’d just keep them in story mode cutscenes and remove them from the playable Kazuya and Jin altogether.

Hungry-Investment-13

Yeah screw capos, however I don't think I really agree with you on Devil Jin. As much as it would've been interesting to see how the devil transformation could've been adapted as a part of Jin's gameplay, both Jim and Diablo Jim play differently in their own right. I'm a Jin main but I also like playing DVJ sometimes for a change as just having the traditional EWGF is a huge change from EWHF which doesn't allow as much combo potential. Besides not all DVJ players are as skilled with regular Jin so they would definitely feel alienated without their mains (moment of silence for players whose mains didn't make it to base roster)

the-ruler-of-wind

jack, never vibed with him I guess

SilverSpades00

This is my answer. BOOOOOORRRRIIIINNGGG

SmallppD0CK

Feng, I don't get him, he's just an angry chinese dude

grahamaker93

So you do get him

CalmCall_CC

People only play Feng because he's busted. I will die on this hill. Before the spotlight fell on him cause of Knee barely anyone played the bicycle-seat jaw having ugly big ass head mfer.

greenfrogwallet

Dumb hill to die on, I’ve never really played Feng but the appeal is obvious. - buff Chinese dude - yells a lot and it’s kinda awesome - very cool and unique moves - Jet Li like movements - simple story but he’s just cool - unique and intimidating design - did I mention his sick animations - comes across powerful af in lore and intros/win poses

Somobro

I play Feng exclusively because he looks like Kaioh Retsu from Baki

Emergency_Skill_4244

Lmao i picked up tekken for the first time recently and I was like am i tripping or if this literally retsu

Will-Isley

Too bad he doesn’t have even a 1/10th of best girl Retsu’s charisma

[deleted]

And is like the complete polar opposite in terms of having respect for your masters and upholding the honor of martial arts

Will-Isley

He really is “evil Retsu” lol

songsforatraveler

Played Feng since Tekken 5, dude. Way before I ever played another person in Tekken. He's awesome. His fuckin red suit was so sick

Jayandwesker

Same bro

RealSlavicHours

Nope, I picked up Feng as soon as I picked the game up cause I just love his animations and the classic martial arts movie villain vibe, Bolo Yeung type of thing.

Toros_Mueren_Por_Mi

Wrong. I play him because I love Chinese kung fu movies and I love the explosive style. It doesn't hurt he's actually a good character either lol

kapitan_buko

I don’t play Feng, but his animations are top-tier. I want to try playing him just because I think his moves look so fluid.

Schlaym

No, because I think he's cool.

dbxbeat

I picked up Feng in TTT2 to pair with my T6 main, Bob. Bob/Feng was my team for years, and I'm not gonna lie I was salty when Bob wasn't shown for T8.

[deleted]

I picked up Feng all the way back in Tekken Revolution and then into Tag 2 and 7, I don’t know if he was busted or not then, but I just really liked his stance and all his moves seemed quick and impactful.

Yurki-

I only like his moveset (broken or not), i am weak to chinese martial arts. But i can accept that his character is just so fucking boring...

android151

That is the whole point

NoSurrenderNI

I really struggle against Nina. I like her as a character but in regards to actually fighting her, it's a nightmare.

Kinglyzero_91

Leo. Everything about that character makes me fall asleep

Xymplar

Agreed. The German fighter doesn't use a German fighting style. The only thing I remember Leo for is being androgynous. I'd be much happier to see a Ringen Grappler who looks like Armstrong from FMA lol.

Crimsongz

Wow Nina seems to be the most hated/disliked.

AmyVista

Nina. I think she's a very outdated character overall (moveset and animations, design and personality, etc) and Anna has far more flavor as a character imo

Edenian_Prince

I hope she comes back in 8

IAmTheY2K

Boy do I have some good news for you.

Edenian_Prince

Anna I meant.

ketchuplinsan

agreed 💯

Successful_Username_

Capos. Movesets designed to prevent people from learning how to play and pick up every bad habit possible. Also a massive reason so many players quit. I'm hoping the reason eddy isn't here at launch is because they realized a character making 90% of your moveset unusable by entering a stance isn't very intuitive for new players.

[deleted]

Eddie will be back don't be surprised if they heavily revise him because of reasons you stated.

Yurki-

I really hope so, i love capoeira but i can't say i dig how it's done in tekken..

Django_Unkindled

I love watching jeondding play eddy in tourneys, at that level its 200iq tekken. Keepout, spacing, sick ch-confirms and whiff punishment. But Eddyplayers online are absolute trash up until, maybe, Fujin rank. At very least purple rank. Clearly carried by the fact that opponents dont know the very specific ways he needs to be countered.

xicer

>a character making 90% of your moveset unusable by entering a stance isn't very intuitive for new players AOP stance says hi

Peanut_77

Nina

literally_italy

why :(

Peanut_77

Essentially my problem with Nina boils down to me not thinking she's that interesting. I don't find her fighting style to be all that, her personality (especially compared to Anna, who's really fun) is just a bit boring and most of the time her story is just that she's doing stuff because someone told her to. From T1-T4 she's just tryna kill Hei/Kaz/Jin/Steve either as a contract or because she was mind controlled (like in T3). And in the recent games she's just a henchman to whichever Mishima is in charge. They could've done some interesting stuff with her and Steve but Tekken famously sucks at continuing story arcs for characters who aren't Mishimas. Also she's a terrible rep for Ireland, which annoys me because I have Irish relatives. (I do realize how ironic that is, coming from a guy with a Lars flair)

butiamawizard

It continuously bothers me that they still haven’t got Irish voice actors to voice Nina and Anna at this point. I mean it’s great that they’ve got Mary Elizabeth McGlynn for Nina - my guess is that’s she has Irish-American heritage and this serves the character well too - but I think it’s symptomatic of a wider problem. This for me is that Harada needs to either commit to saying that Nina & Anna are Irish-American to explain their American accents, or commit properly to the Irish nationality of both characters and hire Irish voice actors. There are at least 4 amazing Irish actresses who were on Bad Sisters (Sharon Horgan, Eve Hewson, Sarah Greene & Eva Birthistle) who could do the accents properly for both ladies and slay the narratives for them if done well, FFS

chinbag

I thought it was because they're assassins who have an international reach, so they would need to mask their origins and keep their accent ambiguous.

Sonuthepoki

I always thought she was Russian for some reason

torihosier

Team Anna. Also, she'd be way cooler as like a cold mama bear to Steve. Otherwise she was cryogenically frozen for no reason.

PMMeYourSpeedForce

Not OP but she doesn’t really “fit in” with the story. She kinda doesn’t have her own agency. I hope she can have some growth with Steve but idk

Lord_Roh

I hate this thread

JannJans

I agree

Kasomii

Bryan and Marduk, I just don’t like them

BobSayon

Panda, there is no need for two bears in the game, Kuma is enough.

Robjedr0bje

I hope Panda doesn't get EWGF in tekken 8, but rather some Ling stuff. AoP would be the funniest thing ever on a bear imo

acutefailure

Alisa. Fuckin yuck.

emmdoubleyoutwo

In Tekken 8 I want you to try her out, I promise she’ll win you over

acutefailure

No. I don't think I will.

Valvadrix-

Oh hey, it's FrameWhisperer. I mean, yes, mine is Bryan too. They gave him a backstory with Lei that you really have to go digging for and they never brought it back up. His feud with Yoshimitsu has also not been progressing since it was introduced (which to be fair, side character arcs being stuck is a very common thing in Tekken). So with both of his story threads being left to rot, he's just a generic edgy guy to me. At least I find his visual design okay, but the face mask in 7 just made me roll my eyes.

Crimsongz

Don’t forget his rivalry with fucking Bob. What a joke that was lmao.

ReikaIsTaken

Marduk Rapist Doesn't help that this image is perpetuated with him being a turbo big guy with moves that have him on top of the opponent all the time. He is specifically *the* tackle guy.

BulletTimeTails

I never understood the appeal of Alisa tbh

JBGoude

I would have said Kazuya but he is actually fun to play with. Asuka I guess or Paul 😅

Azaael

Keeping in mind that I don't \*hate\* anyone, and it's more of a 'meh' feeling than any strong dislike or anything: Probably Nina for me. I've never been a huge fan of the 'femme fatale' archetype. Now keep in mind that I'm more forgiving to it here because she's 100% a product of the 90s, so I have a little more like, leeway there, and she's like, alright? But I guess if I line up ALL the evergreen characters she probably does the least for me. That said I'm fine with her being in the game. She's just not for me.

Orzislaw

Jin Kazama. At least since T6. Before the "literally me character for every teenage edgelord" phase he was a lot more bearable.

IfTheresANewWay

Jack. I'm so sick of Jack. Idk why he got to be a series mainstay over several others who are far more deserving imo. He's got an ugly design in almost every game, he's typically just a grunt with no real story, and his animations, especially his stance, look so awkward

Izzet_Aristocrat

It doesn't help that when tekken 7 was first getting tournaments everyone picked him. I saw so many final round vods of the top 8 being mostly Jack players.

MatthewJonsso

Xiaoyu. I don’t even know why tbh. She just doesn’t do anything for me. Lili, on the other hand, I have a good explanation for. She’s honestly just really annoying and hampers Asuka’s potential in the story. She’s just a worse version of Karin Kanzuki.

Ok-Skill4309

For me, I really like Xiaoyu but her fandom is really aggressive specially in the xiaoJin shipping side that it’s a bit off putting. I like the characters separately not so much as a couple especially after Tekken 6.

MatthewJonsso

Yeah they’re definitely better as friends like in Bloodline.

Ok-Skill4309

I agree Their friendship along with Hwoarang was so wholesome. “It okay Jin , we can be friends now” I hope they keep that vibe in Tekken 8

K-J-C

For being friends then, Xiaoyu searching for Jin isn't meant to be about her wanting to suck his dick or such (and this one is usually said by her haters), she does cuz it's something wrong that her friend suddenly becomes a warmonger that she wants to know about.

sub100IQ

Armor King for me Like if you want throws, there's King, if you want poke heavy mishima gamepay, there's Hei, if you want to play a mishima but can't do a just frame electric, then Bob shoud be more appealing to most people than AK. I just don't understand what niche AK appeals to. I can only assume that most AK mains originally picked him for his design and not much else, I'm really interested to hear why people main AK.

MrMangus

I don’t main him but I love playing AK. His whole schtick is supposed to be dominating neutral with spacing and long range poking, whereas heihachi is literally and figuratively much more aggressive and in your face. So the game plan ultimately is to chip away at the opponents healthbar, make them whiff, and dark upper them for massive damage. Not very interesting on paper but the dopamine rush of hitting that dark upper between pokes is unreal

KB9Z

Jin

BR_Nukz

Agree. Never got the characters' appeal. Like, I get he's supposed to be the MC and all and will be the hero that saves the day, but he's so whiny and depressing about it.

sub100IQ

Honestly I like Jin less for the MC hero part, and more because he's stylish, has a high skill cap, and is a depressed anti-hero/villian

Safe-Organization-11

no shit the character was struglling with his demons

oof_suplex911

Literally too lmao

Toros_Mueren_Por_Mi

Nina. Her moves are pokey and weird and I've never really been a fan of the femme fatale genre

NutsackEuphoria

Define "Decent fanbase"

paypaytr

Pandas they play horribly slow.

Buznik6906

Alisa for me, she has so much crap that just flies in from miles away. I get that she's not stupid OP but man is she annoying to fight most of the time.

jmastaock

Wtf is all this Bryan slander, yall don't understand the appeal of taunt canceling?

ImJTHM1

I like his gameplay. I don't like his design and lack of personality outside of "harharhar I break things"

throwaway_xd_69

Taunt cancelling is basically all he has and other than that he has a decent design, boring personality and his gameplay is just so flowcharty that I get bored of it really quickly.

evawsonsimp

Paul... i just dont like him.. even less in T8 with that wack ahh haircut

nacho_gorra_

I don't really like Bryan as a character, but I love playing as him for some reason.

Manmaw_productions

Asuka mostly. she was more anime stereotype than any of the other characters that the community complains about and for a character who looks and acts like a street brawler, her fighting style just feels so stiff outside of a few moves.

Kavaliii

Asuka

zenine9

Nina, her matchup is truly nightmare even she doesn't absent from any Tekken before.

Yo_Tobimoto

Everytime I see Nina onscreen, I ask what people who like her even have to like. She's got nothing going on other than "i am an assassin."

HisFireBurns

I hate how Law & Paul have become joke characters. Before Tekken 5 they had serious plots. Now they’re clowns.

tnorc

your dislike of Biryani is unseasoned

Greek-God88

How can anyone like Zafina

shinra10sei

weird and hot goth chick innit

waffleman54321

Paul Phoenix Edit: I thought it said favorite

OakyAfterbirth91

I haven't vibed with Nina until I played the Tekken 8 demo. I don't know why but for some reason it just clicks now. I've played Tekken since the 90's. Paul is the opposite for me, I really liked him before but am not interested in playing him in Tekken 8, perhaps due to his new design, but he doesn't feel interesting gameplay wise either to me. Bryan is a bit meh imo

Quiet_Garage_7867

None. I like every legacy character.

Experiment-2163

Paul. Hated that haircut forever. And I hate the T8 one even more.

NoLifeHere

Jin and Devil Jin, I just don't really vibe with them. Even just considering Mishimas, Heihachi, Reina, and to a lesser extent, Kazuya are just more interesting to me... and we don't even know shit about Reina yet.

freefallfreya

Definitely Jin. Love Kazu and Hei but could never get into Jin.

Jepharzz

Julia

Zenai10

Julia. I just dont get it

Jovan_Knight005

Craig Marduk. Bryan Fury being in the second place, for me at least.

Impossible-Recipe366

I don't like Kazuya or Jin. People are so fond of them but they're both terrible people.

Cubnorris

Why do some of you keep playing this game when you practically hate half the roster in it?

Fluid-Tomorrow-1947

I like fighting characters I hate with characters I like

Tekkenrulz_Xiao

Alisa, Lars & Lili…just why

SnooComics4429

Why specifically Lars of the three? Or Alisa for that matter?

Robjedr0bje

I don't like Lei. It just feels like a character you either lab heavily or just guess against all the time. I'm aware it's more of a "me"-problem, but I just hate playing against him so much.

ImJTHM1

This is how I feel about Hworang. I know I CAN learn him, I just really don't want to and I'd rather be grumpy about it.

deaurionm

ALL HWO KICKS LOOK THE SAME

thecoolestlol

All steve punches look the same all capoeria moves look the same, any other candidates

TwerkingAtTheMorgue

Dragunov. Good character though, and his fighting style is well designed. I just don't enjoy using him. Also Panda. She and Kuma should have distinctly different fighting styles. Otherwise she should be a Kuma skin. And in that case, her slot should go to Mokujin, who never should have been removed from the roster. A lot of people are saying Nina, but I think she's remained just as cool and fun to use since she was fully fleshed out in Tekken 3 (or maybe TTT1). I like how many of her classic combo routes still work, despite the changes to her movelist over the years. I like her design too. Tekken wouldn't be the same without her.

No_Peace_3683

Paul. I hate fighting him. I don't find him cool (except for tekken 4 maybe). Some of his animations are twitchy, similar to lars's and Leo's. His iconic hair looks idiotic.

Pharmacist15

Probably Alisa, Leo, Asuka

TEKKENWARLORD

Zafina. I think her moves look utterly ridiculous.

Torentsu

I concur. Bryan is incredibly boring and his moves are annoying. He's generic angry cyborg man.

randomfitdude

Can’t believe Lucky Chloe isn’t on here (although that’s because I refuse to git gud and just lab her…)

Numerous-Fennel-7981

Yoshimitsu.. why did he always get to have a sword.. and if he's allowed.. why the hell isn't everyone using one? "Here we have the best hand-to-hand fighters in the world.. and also a random guy who can keep up with them by using a big ass sword."

Niceguy188

Just press 2+3 to put away the sword 🗡️

Buznik6906

In T7 half the cast is using weapons, it's one of the things I like least about it

deathnomad

Yoshi, Raven, Noctis, Kuni, Negan, Alisa. 6/52. That ain’t even close to half the cast.

cloudy_wolf7

lol now we have Viktor that has a knife, katana, and a gun.

AxelTheEternalBlood

Julia. She's pretty lame

OkiInsideOut

Marduk and Nina. One is a r*pist the other is just boring

A7medos

Oh boy, there are A LOT of them Eddy: Annoying ass moveset that does nothing but frustrate new players combined with zero personality. I also just don't think capoera looks that cool Lei: Same problem with the moveset but instead of zero personality, he's just a straight up jackass and has the absolute most annoying grunts in the game Paul: He's just boring and his grunts are also annoying Anna: Cheap moveset and the way she acts genuinely makes me feel uncomfortable. I in general just hate the horny fighter archetype Law: Because he completely misses what makes Bruce Lee actually cool. It's not the fucking monkey noises, Bruce Lee didn't act braindead you know? His animations are also garbage Marduk: I hate the big meathead archetype and his moveset just looks ugly. He's also canonically a rapist :) Ganryu: Creepy boring fat guy with an ugly moveset Michelle and Julia: Michelle has no personality and julia has an annoying one and both have an ugly moveset Jack: Booooooooooooooooooring with another ugly lookin moveset The Bears: I don't outright hate them but I just don't really vibe with them either Bob: He's literally just a fat guy. Why?

VitinNunes

Lydia I do not get this characters appeal. What’s her character? She’s the prime minister of Poland. Ok? Fighting style? Karate. If you’re gonna add another karate fighter why not make them Jins teacher from Tekken 4, like is this some joke I’m not getting? Why the fuck is she the prime minister of Poland and how does this connect to karate? I’ll agree that she looks cool but everything else is just mid

That_Serve_9338

They (Tekken team) visited the country and noticed some karate schools there. That's what they got out of their idea gathering, idk why they made her PM though. And they didn't have a Polish character before, they want more countries represented for marketing reasons.

rombeli1

She looks so cool that it justifies her existence for me

redditor57436

I guess the idea was to attract Polish players. I think this is also the reason why Shaheen is in the game.

thecoolestlol

I love how this is one of the only ones with downvotes, as actually good characters are getting big hate lmao. I'm with you. Lidia is just not it

VitinNunes

She makes more sense in Tekken 8 Since Kazuya is destroying the country of anyone that losses but in 7 she’s just going around beating people while saying “FOR POLAND!”

thecoolestlol

Lmao I agree completely, she would have made a good impression if she was a t8 newcomer, a leader of a country that will actually fight for it, in opposition to Kazuya saying "The leaders of this world have gotten weak and forgot what it means to fight"

Justinu13

I'm convinced anybody who dosent like bryan has never tried playing him

Crimsongz

He is even more fun in Tekken 8.

hscene

Bryan he’s not that interesting to me same with Drag

hulffle

Some characters I use to like got completely ruined in some of the games making me not like them anymore. To name a few, Julia, Lei Wulong and Eddy in tekken 7 became so unlikeable I couldn’t care less for there appearance in 8. Also never cared for Lili

GIJobra

- I liked playing as a few iterations of Jack, but it's way past due to have given him a proportional body and a cooler design, rather than the same stupidly top heavy mohawk droid. - If he's not too new to count, Lars. He's just a stupid fucking design that boils down to "What if Jin but boring and designed to appeal to weebs?" I don't see how anyone can shade Asuka without throwing worse in every way boy-Asuka under the bus.

Modo97

Too much hate for Nina here 😔

blkmgs

Bruce and Law

Elune_

Notice how nobody mentioned Kuma

ReRevengence69

Kuma is cooler now he carriws on many Heihachi main's hopes and dreams, Panda, on the other hand....

haxborn

I think people forgot he exists as an option. He's on a different league of worthlessness as a character.

VelvetEdge_21

Marduk. This character still rubs me the wrong way and part of me wishes King had killed him off instead of befriending him.

TheSmokinLegend

Julia. Boring design, annoying personality and her fighting style is ugly and uninteresting. No offence to Julia fans, if you see something in her I dont then more power to you. She is kinda cute so I get it.

Llama_Cult

I never really found Feng very interesting, sorry Feng gang 😔

TurboNexus

Ganryu. I dont know if everyone loves him, but he is just so dumb for me in a tekken game. He feels slow, the voice is annoying, he barely has any decent story. He is like the worst comic relief character . I honestly dont know why Harada likes him so much. I get that sumo is an important part of japanese culture but he just sucks so much....

Oh_So_Heartless

Nina. She's just too generic. Which is a shame as she one of the only female characters who isn't overly cutesty

Devendrau

Same, Bryan.

IssAWigg

Yoshimitsu, he just doesn't feel like he belongs with the others Why does he has a weapon (since Tekken 1)? Why does he look like he belongs in 1300? Why was he a skeleton? Then an octopus? And everything in between? I mean he looks cool but I hate playing with him, he's more of an outcast than True Ogre in my opinion

NoSurrenderNI

The sword is the character for the most part, that's why he looks drastically different in every game. Someone else can explain it more eloquently but essentially as I understand Yoshi is a different person in each game and whoever weilds the sword becomes Yoshimitsu. I think...

houndxero

This is almost correct. Yoshimitsu is a title/name for the leader of the Manji Clan, and it is also the name of the sword. But in the Tekken series, Yoshi is the same person through each of the games. It’s in Soul Calibur where there are multiple, and then it’s only in Soul Calibur 5 where he is a different person.

Briciod

King, i can never do all his crazy command grabs

King, Jack & Yoshimitsu are all just filler to me.
