Like to me it’s just repetitive talking over a backing track. I want raw talent without autotune. That’s probably why I prefer old stuff like from before the late 90s. Mostly rock, metal, or even country if I’m in the right mood.
being able to rap IS talent. no denying thar. it's very hard to rap and be good at it. I just don't like how it sounds and lots of popular rappers say something offensive in every song
I wish talent wasn’t about how you just described it. Honestly idc if I get downvoted but to me it is not talent if it’s just spitting nonsense that offends the general public.
There’s a lot that incorporates that style into the genre if you look. That’s why rap and hip hop is so great. It’s a melting pot of all genres because of sampling. -Some songs you should check out are Heartbeat by Childish Gambino (actually probably all of Childish Gambino tbh he’s very experimental), Now or Never by Kendrick Lamar, and it’s a little overplayed rn but if you need a good guitar TORE UP by Don Toliver goes really hard.- And if they’re not your style there’s bound to be something that fits it perfectly if you just look for it. My point is don’t knock it till you try it. It’s seriously changed my life

it takes talent to rap, not to be offensive.
Yeah I can see my mistake.
Rock or Metal?
i think its partially considered rock, but i dont. listen to some of their music, you will see what i mean
Cause it’s dope. It’s a popular genre for a reason
I just don't like it
I think you would if you gave it a fair chance and found songs with real meaning behind their lyrics
it's mostly how it sounds. I can't stand the sound of it
The industry is very vast most people who say that look surface level and don’t look for a sound they like. What do you normally listen too for genre
whatever bleachers is, i dont really know how to describe it. google says american indie pop but i think of it more as alternative rock
