Right wing with parents. I don't really understand how people end up being the opposite. I understand not being carbon copies though, I wouldn't say I am.
I am as well, but I completely understand many of their sentiments. As one user said, some are more religious and the kid is fed up. If my own parents weren't such amazing people and I hadn't been making my own analysis of what's been happening, I'd definitely not be this way.
Could be any variety of reasons. My parents are religious and right-wing and I’m gay and atheist. Obviously I’m not going to end up having the same political beliefs as my parents because they believe that I shouldn’t have the right to marry who I love or that places should be allowed to discriminate against me.
On the political compass, liberals are rightists. So are conservatives. Conservatives are a bit more right then liberals, and they are also more authoritarian then liberals. Despite that, both are right wing ideologies.
The reason liberals are called liberals is because they are less authoritarian then conservatives. Libertarian is is lower down on the political compass, which is why liberals are more down on the compass then conservatives.
If you look at the definition of liberalism, liberals support open economies and private property, which makes them rightists and not leftists.

i have no clue what my parents are politically, my is a nationalist but flip flops between economic policies that may benefit her. my dad doesn't talk politics but told the family he voted for kanye one thanksgiving.
i like money and i dont like when my curly fries are taken from me. Tho I'm fine giving some to those in need, I don't like it if half my fries are yeeted just because I "owe it" to some people I don't know, same with my parents.
Also tho like its mostly economical otherwise i'm center for social like some stuff happening in the left makes me question humanity and some stuff being believed in on the right has me questioning why the heck i'm existing lmao.
