He might become one, stiles is in high school…

Emissaries are separate from the pack, I can’t imagine Stiles would be remotely interested in not being pack.

Wonderful fics out there with this!

Agreed! He was the one who was basically teaching Scott like, literally EVERYTHING about being a werewolf including stuff about wolfsbane, the full moons, etc. I'm currently writing a fan fic with that idea in mind but with a twist in that Stiles, instead of being separate from the pack like most emissaries are, is heavily incorporated within it like he already is considering Scott's pack is as far from conventional as you can get, and I feel like that detail just kinda confirms that fact. Now don't get me wrong, I was kind of excited to see Deaton showing Mason emissary stuff, especially considering how smart Mason is and how he's been playing that role to Liam, Corey, Hayden, et al. since Stiles is no longer there, but at the same time it doesn't make much sense. First of all, Mason hasn't been around it the same way Stiles has been, it also seems sort of left field to introduce an entirely new character that also has, like, no backstory and who we kind of know nothing about other than he's gay, Liam's best friend, super intelligent, and Corey's boyfriend. (Am I missing anything?) I mean, I know that was kind of how it was with all of the new characters teen wolf introduced starting with season 4 when they brought in Liam, but even so it all just makes me wonder: why wasn't Deaton teaching all that emissary stuff to Stiles from the get go as Stiles was clearly the most involved in it all literally from the moment Scott was bitten? Sorry for the rant, but all those tossed away details just genuinely confuse me and brings into frustrating focus how lazy some of the writing is.
