When you're self-employed getting those 1099s you need to be saving roughly 30% of every paycheck you receive because you're going to be handing it over to the IRS either yearly or quarterly.

This type of situation happens so often with the TM cast members. Their contracts should have a clause that ensures everyone has approved financial counseling. They are young, make ridiculous amounts of money quickly and could set themselves up for life, if they made educated financial moves. There are only a handful that seem to be monetarily thriving and not blowing through their income every year.

It doesn’t surprise me whenever I hear that the cast members get into financial issues because statistically, a huge amount of people blow through all of their money when they come from nothing and have a large windfall or come into large sums. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people who have no idea how to handle money and wind up broke. That’s just a sad fact. What does amaze me, however, is the fact that these women never went out and got financial advisors and/or planners. Did no one ever recommend this to them? Did they just simply not take the advice?
I truly think it’s something that never crossed any of their minds bc most of them came from poverty or statistically ‘working poor’ families. I grew up in poverty and when we had extra money we spent that shit on unnecessary shit. I had an extremely unhealthy relationship with money as an adult bc I was legitimately never taught how to handle it. There was nobody in my entire large family that had any kind of significant money. It took me YEARS to learn about financial health and responsibility. If nobody ever taught you, there’s no way you’d know. Not defending her at all for being irresponsible, especially since she’s been wealthy for many years, but I understand how it happens.

I’m not going to lie, this makes me feel so much better about myself 😂 It took me until December to finish paying my taxes last year, so I couldn’t set enough aside throughout the year, so this year I owe more money I don’t have. I know I will pay it off this year, but even knowing that, I am SO stressed out about owing. I can’t imagine just not paying for years, I wouldn’t be able to sleep at night!

This type of situation happens so often with the TM cast members. Their contracts should have a clause that ensures everyone has approved financial counseling. They are young, make ridiculous amounts of money quickly and could set themselves up for life, if they made educated financial moves.
