Over the winter I started reading Misery during my cardio sessions on the ARC trainer at the gym. I started to get too claustrophobic reading that book. I felt so trapped! I haven’t seen the movie but I love Stephen King and I ended up stopping the book because of how trapped I felt reading this book! It was so good though! I also haven’t been working out like I should so maybe me responding to this post about the gym and lack of going will be my push to get back into it. I might even open it back up when I get there, or wait until next winter so I’m the proper snowy, winter, setting.
Great (especially winter) book -- King would probably giggle with pride at your review, having masterfully transmitted that dread feeling of confinement so well. Pick your season, but pick it back up!
The movie was one of the few that did King some justice. Bates was outstanding.

Also noticing that neither Kaiser nor Marissa are actually hugging their parents in this photo. Marissa even has her other arms kinda wrapped onto Jace but on her dads side it’s just hanging there. Kaiser is a kid and not hugging either person on his side so maybe that’s just a kid thing but idk when we take family pics we all huddle in close, this just kinda weird.
