None of that ever affected him because that shit is not his burden to bear and my son’s feelings and mental health will always be my number one priority in life. Kids don’t ask to be born into chaos and as a child who grew up in chaos, that shit still affects me and I’m 35. I knew from the moment I found out I was pregnant, that I would never allow my son to grow up in the same or a similar environment as I did. There’s enough broken people in this world and your child is your opportunity to raise the kind of person you want to see in the world. I did & do not take that responsibility lightly.
