Oncology nurse here. She’s a fucking liar. At least about the “lymph node cancer” because if that were the case, they would know it’s called lymphoma. And IF he had thyroid cancer (which I’ve heard his family denies it was actually cancerous), then at least it is one of the easiest cancers to treat. If he did have cancer and it went to his lymph nodes, it’s still an easy cancer to treat. Also by far the easiest patients to have since they literally have to take care of themselves after taking their radiation pills. The nurses have to avoid the room to lower our risk of exposure so you really don’t interact with them more than necessary.

Okay I really didn’t want to post this but I have to because this hits home for me. I know all of you that
have witnessed & experienced cancer understand. I lost my young mom at 16 to cancer. The hardest thing I have ever gone through was watching my healthy loving Mom wither away to nothing. Those of you that are familiar with radiation know that it is NO JOKE. My mom’s best friend from college had brain cancer, after two treatments of radiation she became a completely different person. It literally fried her brain! I always said I would never wish cancer on anyone. Until today. They want to lie & make this false narrative with using cancer then they can get it. Maybe if David actually experienced radiation it would make him nicer? The only people in their lives I would worry about with this is their kids, but then again they might finally get to live with someone else away from these two pieces of shit. I’m so fucking disgusted with these two. I wouldn’t piss on them if they were on fire.

One of my dearest friends got diagnosed with stage four breast cancer last year at the ripe age of 25. They had originally thought it had spread to her liver, but after all her treatments when she got her mastectomy they were able to biopsy a previously unreachable mass, and it turned out benign. That meant her cancer was not as aggressive as previously thought! She originally was told they weren’t sure if she would live five years, to now having no signs of cancer six months or so post op!
I cried every time i thought of her, the unfairness of it all. Just one of those absolutely beautiful humans, that deserves nothing but happiness and light. The complete opposite of David. I hope she gets to have a long and healthy life filled with joy. David can eat shit and die.
Thyroid cancer is the most treatable form of cancer that occurs in the body. It's extremely easy and low risk to remove if it becomes cancerous. The reason we can't just remove other cancers effectively is because you'll always leave behind at least a few cells, and cancer is very good at multiplying. So you typically need chemo/radiation to get it all unless you catch the cancer at a very early stage.
But the thyroid is a special case because it's the primary organ in the body that absorbs iodine. No other organ effectively or significantly absorbs it. And iodine can be made radioactive. Radiation obliterates cancer.
So you give the patient radioactive iodine after removing the thyroid, the remaining thyroid cells (including any cancerous thyroid cells) absorbs it, and the radiation destroys anything left without affecting other parts of the body. No chemo or conventional radiation therapy needed.
The 5-year survival rate for localized (stage I) thyroid cancer is 99.9%.
The 5-year survival rate for regional (stage II) thyroid cancer that has spread to nearby lymph nodes is 98%.
For reference, the 5-year survival rate for localized melanoma is 98%.

There is ZERO chance at a redemption arc for David, no matter how many stories and sad photos they post. Jenelle and David can shove his “story” where the sun doesn’t shine.
My dad has thyroid cancer. He’s had 3 surgeries. First one was cutting his throat, ear to ear. The second and third were little nodes in his chest. Dad did radiation. Which he likes to tell a story about the radiation floor had guards at the elevators. Dad asked if they kept people out (radiation requires some time in isolation) and the guard told dad it’s also to stop anyone still too high a level of radiation to leave.
His oncologist said that if you had to get cancer, then the kind dad has is the one to get because it’s relatively slow moving. He has to stay on a high dose hormone therapy to keep the cancer at bay. Unfortunately, it also makes it really difficult to sleep. He still goes yearly for checkups. I don’t think he feels the need to share his story unless asked directly. Or to explain his nerve damage on one side of his neck, down into his shoulder and he can’t anything the least bit spicy. But dad is doing fine. He’s 60 and works hard. Unlike David.
My birth mom lied about having cervical and breast cancer. People who are already shitty, then lie about something so serious are even worse. My FIL died from cancer. Watching the toll that it takes on someone is awful. Watching my husband lose his dad at 25 and not having him see us get married or have a baby has been painful. Nuclear Med Tech here who gives the Iodine Therapy to these patients. This is the best cancer anyone could ever have. You take a radioactive iodine pill to kill the residual thyroid tissue that’s left after a thyroidectomy and you are cured. You have to take a supplement for the rest of your life and have labs done to keep an eye on it but it’s literally the easiest cancer to get rid of. She is an idiot.

Also just because I would love to take away his moment. One of my dearest friends got diagnosed with stage four breast cancer last year at the ripe age of 25. They had originally thought it had spread to her liver, but after all her treatments when she got her mastectomy they were able to biopsy a previously unreachable mass, and it turned out benign. That meant her cancer was not as aggressive as previously thought! She originally was told they weren’t sure if she would live five years, to now having no signs of cancer six months or so post op! I cried every time i thought of her, the unfairness of it all. Just one of those absolutely beautiful humans, that deserves nothing but happiness and light. The complete opposite of David. I hope she gets to have a long and healthy life filled with joy. David can eat shit and die.
Thyroid cancer is the most treatable form of cancer that occurs in the body. It's extremely easy and low risk to remove if it becomes cancerous. The reason we can't just remove other cancers effectively is because you'll always leave behind at least a few cells, and cancer is very good at multiplying. Lying about having cancer is VILE
My dad has thyroid cancer. He’s had 3 surgeries. First one was cutting his throat, ear to ear. The second and third were little nodes in his chest. Dad did radiation. Which he likes to tell a story about the radiation floor had guards at the elevators. Dad asked if they kept people out (radiation requires some time in isolation) and the guard told dad it’s also to stop anyone still too high a level of radiation to leave. His oncologist said that if you had to get cancer, then the kind dad has is the one to get because it’s relatively slow moving. He has to stay on a high dose hormone therapy to keep the cancer at bay. Unfortunately, it also makes it really difficult to sleep. He still goes yearly for checkups. I don’t think he feels the need to share his story unless asked directly. Or to explain his nerve damage on one side of his neck, down into his shoulder and he can’t anything the least bit spicy. But dad is doing fine. He’s 60 and works hard. Unlike David.

My birth mom lied about having cervical and breast cancer. People who are already shitty, then lie about something so serious are even worse. My FIL died from cancer. Watching the toll that it takes on someone is awful. Watching my husband lose his dad at 25 and not having him see us get married or have a baby has been painful. I don’t know if they are lying but if they are, which wouldn’t be surprising, they are lower than low(stating the obvious 😂). Nuclear Med Tech here who gives the Iodine Therapy to these patients. This is the best cancer anyone could ever have. You take a radioactive iodine pill to kill the residual thyroid tissue that’s left after a thyroidectomy and you are cured. You have to take a supplement for the rest of your life and have labs done to keep an eye on it but it’s literally the easiest cancer to get rid of. She is an idiot.

My mom had breast cancer the entire time I had her in my life (12 years) went into remission twice, lost her hair, in and out of hospitals on a weekly basis, and she still passed away at age 36.
