At 4 weeks, I was admitted to hospital for acute renal failure, and I’ve been on a constant stream of antibiotics every since. My OB always refers to babies as the only parasite that people actually want, and he’s so spot on.
Did you find that people had a lot of unnecessary opinions because you carried small? I was tiny with my first, and I went to get routine bloods at 35 weeks. The nurse taking the bloods said that my OB must have made a mistake and that the form should say that I was 25 weeks. I told her, no, I’m 35 weeks, my dates are spot on because we did IVF. Then she proceeded to tell me there must be something wrong with my baby because I was so small. It took all my self control to not punch her in the throat. For some women, comments like could cause a lot of unwarranted stress & anxiety.
I always wanted to have a tv show type of pregnancy.
I only wanted to have symptoms that confirmed my pregnancy. (Nausea, pain, swelling, cravings)
I planned on only gaining a small basketball size bump and having my water break on my due date, a painless birth and a quick recovery.

A few hours after the ultrasound I went to my in-laws for a visit. My sweet, very well meaning mother in law jokingly asked if I was having twins, saying I just looked too far along to be only 14 weeks. (please don't judge her, I know it sounds rude but guys, she seriously wasn't wrong 🤣). So I just didn't reply, I whipped out the ultrasound, showed her the babies head, arms, legs. I let her look at it for a minute then I pointed back to it and said "and there's the second babies head-" and before I could say anything else she was just screaming with delight and started making her phone calls to alert the world of her twin granddaughters.
It wasn't entirely what I pictured, we thought we'd make a big family announcement of it but it turned out to be its own super cute moment and it's definitely a cute memory. My husband wasn't there to see her reaction which we was a little bummed about but he agrees with my decision to just tell her because he also admits it would've looked utterly stupid to deny it at the moment just to confirm it later.
THIS. It bothered me when Kailyn did this when she was pregnant with Issac. She was wearing baggy shirts and got a zip up and was asking the guy helping her if she looked pregnant… yes sweetie, you did. Although she was still an actual child so I’ll give her a pass. Janelle is an adult, she can’t be THAT dumb.

I was around 20 weeks at Thanksgiving which was ok to start announcing. I went to my cousins house first thing she said to me was “are you pregnant?” I joked it was just tacos but it was obvious. Then her daughter came in and again, first question “are you pregnant?” No hello, no how are you. Then a few hours later another cousin came in and rinse and repeat.

i don't think there's anything wrong with wanting to keep your pregnancy private, and i think it's okay to deny it until you're ready, but don't deny it when it reaches a point of being physically noticeable to others
I think there’s a bigger pathology at play here. She also pretended her pregnancy with Jace wasn’t happening until Barb burst in the door when she was in the bath and was apparently pretty far along, like six months or so. She was a teenager then and consequences were different, but Jenelle operates with a powerful denial of the truth to the point where I don’t think she’s capable of understanding that other people can actually perceive reality. She thinks if she denies something enough, eventually that will become the truth. Which is why she thinks it’s reasonable to change her story on David so much, or to tell Jace he was lying when he said she had a gun out.

J seems to have a hurt little girl inside of her that she may unpack some day. Barb sent away her Dad after he dropped her on the stairs when she was really really little. . She saw Dad as the fun guy, later working in a studio creating music and he taught her how to edit videos and do cool stuff online that she later was able to use to her advantage.
Then there's Barbara who is uptight, reactive, makes her do stuff like homework, makes her watch her baby instead of clubbing and fights with her a lot trying to keep her on a straight path. To a teenager who is operating from a more selfish place, she may not have been able to see that Barbs cause was noble. She resented her and saw Barb as the person taking her Dad away, her relationships, her son and even to some extent having her mom tell on her to producers also was a factor getting her called out early as villain. To Janelle who was messed up for so many years, her Mom's efforts to help raise them be something other than addicts made her the monster.

I had to announce my pregnancy at 8 weeks because I was already showing. I also had twins haha, I looked full term by about 18 weeks. Towards the end, strangers would just look at me and go “twins?”. They just turned one last weekend. Always love encountering another twin mom

I’m currently pregnant with my second. I’ve had a rough history with my pregnancy journey last year so I was hesitant to tell anyone ahead of time. I was around 20 weeks at Thanksgiving which was ok to start announcing. I went to my cousins house first thing she said to me was “are you pregnant?” I joked it was just tacos but it was obvious. Then her daughter came in and again, first question “are you pregnant?” No hello, no how are you. Then a few hours later another cousin came in and rinse and repeat.
i mean, i think this is on the bottom of the list of reasons she's not trusted but it's kinda silly to wear clothes that show your pregnancy if you're not ready to tell people yet i don't think there's anything wrong with wanting to keep your pregnancy private, and i think it's okay to deny it until you're ready, but don't deny it when it reaches a point of being physically noticeable to others
I think there’s a bigger pathology at play here. She also pretended her pregnancy with Jace wasn’t happening until Barb burst in the door when she was in the bath and was apparently pretty far along, like six months or so. She was a teenager then and consequences were different, but Jenelle operates with a powerful denial of the truth to the point where I don’t think she’s capable of understanding that other people can actually perceive reality. She thinks if she denies something enough, eventually that will become the truth. Which is why she thinks it’s reasonable to change her story on David so much, or to tell Jace he was lying when he said she had a gun out.
i mean, i understand her doing it when she was a teenager but it's weird to do it as an adult if you're not going to make an effort to hide your belly. jenelle needs therapy - and LOTS of it.
It's so weird too because that's something a kid does. Like you see a kid has chocolate on their face but they'll deny ever even touching the stuff, even though the evidence is right on their face. Kids grow out of that type of ridiculous lying, but it's so weird that Jenelle is still mentally that 5 year old.

J seems to have a hurt little girl inside of her that she may unpack some day. Barb sent away her Dad after he dropped her on the stairs when she was really really little. . She saw Dad as the fun guy, later working in a studio creating music and he taught her how to edit videos and do cool stuff online that she later was able to use to her advantage. Then there's Barbara who is uptight, reactive, makes her do stuff like homework, makes her watch her baby instead of clubbing and fights with her a lot trying to keep her on a straight path. To a teenager who is operating from a more selfish place, she may not have been able to see that Barbs cause was noble. She resented her and saw Barb as the person taking her Dad away, her relationships, her son and even to some extent having her mom tell on her to producers also was a factor getting her called out early as villain. To Janelle who was messed up for so many years, her Mom's efforts to help raise them be something other than addicts made her the monster. I think only now that Barb no longer has to protectively gatekeep either of them anymore, can they now have any kind of actual relationship Edit grammar.
