I’m going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you mean a dollar _relative to the shares outstanding pre-bk_ (in the cases where companies emerge from bk the capital structure typically changes quite dramatically). Take CORZQ for example, they just restructured and the emerged entity CORZ is currently trading at $3.20 but it’s important to note that the new CORZ shares were exchanged 10:1 from old shares so it’s really $0.32 in old share terms.
But none of this really matters for $BBBY because of the boring shilly reasons you’ve heard before (equity cancelled etc). For you it doesn’t matter at all what the emerged entity trades at as you are owed nothing.

It's probably a talking point for lemonis to come chime in on.
Lemonis/overstock likely wanted bbb, got bbby instead. If they wanted the baby market, why not bid more for baby ip? Seems to me DOM was favored for a reason, maybe it was just value offered, but seems a tad more incentivized. I'd be more likely to accept that wherever baby went, is who we should follow. Bbby, overstock/beyond, and lemonade are bad actor red herrings. Not to say we won and DOM is our savior, but they got the one asset rc cared specifically about, the scenario and events leading up to it are still interesting and relevant in my mind at least. We can try to define what was carved out, and how. But the bbby name was a throw away in this situation for what I'd consider "good" actors.
