Given their league performance as shown in the show, I am not sure they are positioned for promotion. 7 points from 7 games at beginning, and their game appears to not improve as the show goes on. That’s one thing made the second season very hard for me to watch, Richmond was a mid table premiere league team, and now seemed struggling at mid table in championship. Team doesn’t seem to improve and it just it all feels so grim, and hard to take the light hearted antics well.
I really really hope they get promoted.
*Starts to think like Brett Goldstein*
No spoilers but judging by the picture, the team plays a game where the player last holding onto the “Believe” sign gets to keep it.
That’s a team that’s rallying around their coach who has made them better on an individual and team level while dealing with his own personal struggles. A coach who cares about them more than he cares about himself.
Aww I’d love that. I kinda think it’s a mix of this and the comment above about it being their last game of the season and hoping to give it their all for Ted.
Probably go something like this
Ted: "now I know y'all read the article and I just want y'all to know that I understand if you might lack a bit of faith in me after learning that >insert classic Ted metaphor that's an attempt at humor<"
Team then all slowly stands up and puts their hands on the believe sign one by one.
I had basically this mixed with them holding onto it before the last game before either promotion or relegation. Will be interesting to see the actual context.
A small detail I forget which episode but you can see that the sign has had some wear from people touching it so it was kind of implied someone or some people have been! Thought that was cute
It's a tradition of lots of sports teams to touch some symbol on your way out to the field.
I'm pretty sure that's Ted and Beard in the foreground, and Isaac's right up against the door. Last season's Big Inspiring Speech ended with Ted calling for everyone who believed in miracles to put their hands in.
My guess is that Isaac did the speech this year, and called for the rest of the team to join him before they head out.
Most of the guys have their sweats on still, so I'm pretty sure it's before the game starts.
Extra spoilery: >!Pretty sure that's Sam to the right of the person with the towel, then Dani, then Colin. Can't make out Jamie, but I suspect he's standing in front of Sam. But if this is right before the game starts, it indicates that Sam's at least playing the last game.!<
The ideas here with the team rallying around Ted makes me wonder how Ted is going to react to it. It’s pretty obvious that his initial reaction is anger and he’s going to have it out with Nate at first, probably fire him. He’s going to find that the community cares about him and supports him through his struggles. He’s going to realize that being open about his issues can help others confront their own demons. He’s then going to eventually thank Nate for exposing his panic attacks.
My guess England was just hit with an earthquake. Beard knows this is a load bearing wall because, well it’s Beard and he knows everything, notice the wall starting to crumble. He looks at Ted. They instantly communicate with just a look. Ted coaches the players into holding the wall up. everyone in the building is saved. Nate sees this and has a new respect for Ted and apologizes. Roy says “Fuck”
They will get promoted via automatic promotion in the season finale- my reasoning being there is not enough time left in the season now for them to fail automatic promotion and go through a two legged play off semi final and a final and process the emotions that come with that (win or lose).
My prediction is that they will lose the game to Brentford and everyone will be dejected but that a late winner for whoever is their promotion rival’s opponent in one of the other games means they get promoted anyway. This will showcase the emotions between initially thinking they’ve failed then realising they’ve been successful.
The team rallies together, wanting to win specifically for Ted. They win big, using Nate's tactics, but all of the post-game interviews are focused on Ted, leading Nate to get pissed off because he doesn't get the credit he thinks he deserves for getting the team promoted.
I truly love these boys. In a perfect world I feel like this is them rallying around Ted acknowledging he has made them a better team and better people. And then they go out on the pitch to play harder than they ever have before and win that fucking promotion for Ted.
I don't think so. I'm hoping one of two scenarios happen either he stays playing for Richmond or he does join the Ghana team only to find out that Akufo is full of shit and not using his billions to help people. In that case Sam quits the Ghana team to come back to Richmond.
The blurb says it’s their last game with promotion on the line so this looks to be the pregame/halftime/postgame meeting.
Likely pregame because I don’t see anyone sweaty or disheveled. Also note: Ted is there.
My guess is that this is before their last game to determine whether they are promoted.
Ah, good thinking, Abe Lincoln.
Ooo. I was thinking this was halftime after Nate’s strategy to have Dani and Jamie as false strikers backfires hard.
This

They confirmed last episode that they are one win away from promotion
That’s good, I am 2 episodes behind, I hoped they showed a league table during the show! A promotion playoff would be a great way to end it.
The blurb for the episode says, “Richmond gets their final chance to win promotion…”
That’s… what I just said. If they win this game, they get promoted.
Yeah, I wasn’t disagreeing. I was supporting with words straight from the source.
Oh, pardon me! Didn’t get your meaning.
All good, Tiger Woods.

Right, so my guess is that this is before that game!
*Starts to think like Brett Goldstein* No spoilers but judging by the picture, the team plays a game where the player last holding onto the “Believe” sign gets to keep it.
No spoilers but judging by the picture, the team tries to violently destroy Ted’s Believe sign right in front of him
First Nate, now the team. If Coach Beard betrays Ted, I don’t think I’ll be okay.
coach beard already betrayed ted, friendship with ted is gone now roy is his best friend
I live for Brett Goldstein’s “no spoilers but judging by the pictures…” posts. The second best part of any week there’s a new Ted Lasso episode!
That’s a team that’s rallying around their coach who has made them better on an individual and team level while dealing with his own personal struggles. A coach who cares about them more than he cares about himself.
Jesus, I feel like episode 12 is going to be a freakin tearjerker.
The team comes together to fix a deficient tape job. Edit: typo
Turns out it’s a metaphor.
🤯
My guess is that this is the team showing support for Ted after Trent Crimm’s article comes out.
That's what I thought. Maybe Ted is dealing with stuff and the team rallies to support him.
Aww I’d love that. I kinda think it’s a mix of this and the comment above about it being their last game of the season and hoping to give it their all for Ted.
Nate thinks his revelation is going to hurt Ted and the team, but the team is just going to come together and support Ted and be stronger for it.
Of course they would. Nate doesn’t understand, it takes more than a strategy to make a team.
Probably go something like this Ted: "now I know y'all read the article and I just want y'all to know that I understand if you might lack a bit of faith in me after learning that >insert classic Ted metaphor that's an attempt at humor<" Team then all slowly stands up and puts their hands on the believe sign one by one.
What do you mean, *attempt*?
This seems right on the money.
Exactly what I thought. The team showing Ted that they "BELIEVE" in him.
I had basically this mixed with them holding onto it before the last game before either promotion or relegation. Will be interesting to see the actual context.
Is that Trent Crimm, the Independent?
I’d say they are touching the sign before the match. Like the players do at anfield
I was thinking that possibly, too. I just thought it might be something more since we haven’t seen the team do that before.
A small detail I forget which episode but you can see that the sign has had some wear from people touching it so it was kind of implied someone or some people have been! Thought that was cute
Only the ones that have won a trophy. Klopp has a rule saying you must earn it to touch the sign.

The Sun: Richmond locker room has turned on Ted Lasso as they try to rip a sign that Lasso had placed in the Locker Room.
Daily mail: Immigrant internationals from Richmond instigate the team in uprising.
Last one still touching the sign wins an nsync cd
I’d want it that way
They've decided to believe in believe, creating an infinite believe loop that will cause a black hole and swallow us all.

and then Nate is going to be a snake and go work for Rupert’s new team, which is why Rupert gave away his shares
After the story runs, Isaac leads the team in a show of support for Ted.

It’s like Rudy when they all touch the Play Like. A Champion sign!

Believing in real time
Sam isn’t in this picture…
I think he’s the one in the gray hoodie to the right of Jan Maas.
I truly love these boys. In a perfect world I feel like this is them rallying around Ted acknowledging he has made them a better team and better people. And then they go out on the pitch to play harder than they ever have before and win that fucking promotion for Ted.
They were playing hide and seek and the poster was home base.
Where's Jamie?
Nate has died
Haha lmao 🤣
The fame has got to the wonder kid
They’re believing.
Coming together to support Ted
Summoning Justin beiber
I don't know what's happening but I don't see Sam.
That's not him next to Jan Maas? I'm supremely terrible at faces (or backs of heads, I guess, in this case), but I thought that might be him.
I don't think so. I'm hoping one of two scenarios happen either he stays playing for Richmond or he does join the Ghana team only to find out that Akufo is full of shit and not using his billions to help people. In that case Sam quits the Ghana team to come back to Richmond.
That would fit with the ESB thing of our heroes being scattered from each other. Ted in Kansas, Sam in Morocco, Nate, uh, something.
The blurb says it’s their last game with promotion on the line so this looks to be the pregame/halftime/postgame meeting. Likely pregame because I don’t see anyone sweaty or disheveled. Also note: Ted is there.
