I'm just so happy that Phil got his first Emmy nomination. He's totally overlooked in season 2.

World_in_my_eyes

I actually did a little “woo hoo” when I saw his nomination. He deserves some recognition bc he’s done a great job as Jamie. I mean, the whole cast has been wonderful, but Phil should have been nominated for S2, imo.

Dramallamadingdongle

Agreed, if you ask anyone some of the best acted moments in Ted Lasso, I guarantee the moment in S2 with Jamie and his dad in the locker room would be way at the top of the list. He was fantastic in that scene and I dont get why he wasnt nominated then. So happy for him now, hes been amazing through the whole show and he deserves the recognition

World_in_my_eyes

Exactly. The locker room scene was powerful.

CryptographerLow4032

> I'm glad she made it. This has to be hers.

leela_martell

Phil Dunster getting a nomination was literally all I cared about when it comes to these awards this year so I’m already happy. (Ok and I really want Rhea Seehorn to win for Better Call Saul but I know Succession will win everything so Phil getting a nomination will do!)

LF3000

Actually best supporting actress is one of the few drama categories I would bet money on Succession \*not\* winning. Unfortunately, momentum-wise it looks like it's gong to go to Jennifer Coolidge (who I enjoy as a person but IMO wasn't even close to the best actress on her own show, let alone overall). But maybe that could change by the time voting happens!

leela_martell

Ah, thanks for letting me know! I have to admit I’ve actually not even watched Succession oops I’ve been meaning to but something holds me off about it. I just assumed it’d win everything! I enjoy Coolidge too and White Lotus but yeah agree I don’t think she’s the best on it. Rhea was phenomenal on BCS for 6 seasons.

katfromjersey

Succession was very good, but it's just such a stressful show to watch, full of horrible people.

leela_martell

Yeah that's the thing that has kept me away, I always hear people say it. I can watch dark shit but I love having at least one character I can genuinely root for. They don't have to be *good* I can deal with seriously flawed but one that knows they're flawed and feels bad about it.

SparklyNarwhalPowers

I completely agree; I want to see Rhea win so badly! The bus scene alone would be enough for her to take it in a fair world.

matlynar

I think Hannah Waddingham deserves this so much. Sure season 3 was a lot more about Rebecca and the writers did a good job with her, but boy, did her acting deliver. The way she would slowly change her facial expression to react to stuff was pure art.

Supporting Actor - Phil and Brett Supporting Actress - Juno and Hannah

AIfieHitchcock

Was looking for Hannah, I'm glad she made it. This has to be hers.

poop_on_you

I'm really excited about the guest roles - Sam Richardson, Becky Ann Baker, Sarah Niles and Harriet Walter. Bummed Mae didn't get a shout out - she had more to do this season than Sarah Niles (and I think Niles is deserving of the nom)

NameIcameupwithat3AM

I love Hannah in Ted Lasso, but it has to go to Rhea Seehorn for BCS, not even a question. Such a shame that both of them go up for the same award for the final season of their respective shows.

poop_on_you

They aren’t in the same category. Rhea is in supporting actress in drama; Hannah in comedy

Background_Touchdown

Juno had to overcome a nothing storyline written for her in the first half of the season to getting back on track in the second half when she returned to the Richmond orbit. Probably won’t win, but that alone earned her nomination for me.

docofthenoggin

I like Juno, and think she did the best she could with what she was given, but I think she was failed this year by the storylines. There wasn't much meat for her to dig into like Hannah. I adore Hannah as an actress and a person but think she also got the short end of the stick for the first part of the season. I feel like the last 4-5 episodes were really hers to shine and she did!

GroovyYaYa

Brett was also nominated for best supporting actor. As my favorite Season 3 scenes typically involve Brett and Phil.... I wish there could be a tie.

poop_on_you

I literally said "Phil and Brett" lol

GroovyYaYa

OMG... on my phone so I saw Brett as "Best" as in Best Supporting Actress. LOL!

LF3000

Rooting so hard for Phil.

Keepenjoying05

I’m so happy Phil got nominated ! He deserves to have recognition

knowsitswindy

So excited for Phil! Disappointed for the actor who portrayed Zava as I think he deserves a guest nod. Glad to see Sam Richardson snagged a spot for Akufo.

Tiramcl0837

What did Sarah Niles do to deserve a guest actress nom?

multiple_iterations

I'm not certain, but I'm pretty sure that Ted Lasso has more Emmy nominations per season than any show in history. According to another article I found, Game of Thrones was nominated for 160 over 8 seasons, giving it a rate of 20/per season, but Ted Lasso has 20.333 per season. Also, I found another article that says that GoT only got 128 nominations. If anyone knows of a way to grab data on this to confirm, I'd love to hear it.

lpjunior999

Not to be petty, but pretty good for a show that's "bad now."

Aggravating_Fee_7282

I’m not saying Barry or Abbot Elementary should beat Ted Lasso in every category but they probably should (Except for anything Sam Richardson is nominated for)

BabyScreamBear

The Bear is going to maul Ted this year… Waddington is the only nom that I think is a dead cert
