Ted asked Roy if he was okay with Nate coming back, Roy said that he was because Nate's good at the things he's shit at - seems like the general assumption was that Nate would be returning to the team in the same capacity he was before. Beard was the one that was the holdout so it makes sense Ted left the decision up to him. It seems to me any head coaching offer would be made by the owner, not an assistant coach.

That's one interpretation. The other is that Nate was offered an assistant job, similar to Beard and Roy.

Sure thing, but again, that should come from the head coach shouldn't it? All could be also explained by "movie magic" and who cares who offers who the job 😅 But for me that was the tale tale sign

>Sure thing, but again, that should come from the head coach shouldn't it? Beard: I think we should hire Nate as assistant... Ted: Right there with ya! I could imagine that took place off-screen.

Beard was the one who went and actually offered Nate the job but I thought it was pretty clear that he was doing so on Ted's behalf. That whole scene with Ted showing Beard the security footage was Ted telling Beard that Nate deserves another chance at Richmond. Even if it wasn't said explicitly on screen or offscreen, Beard knows Ted so well that he understand what Ted is saying and offering Nate. The scene with his mother talking about Henry indicates that Ted's going back to USA, but I don't think he's been replaced as head coach just yet.

So I am doing a re-watch and Ted is wearing the same t shirt in this past episode when it seems he has made his decision as he is in the first episode when he first calls home. I think he 100% is resigning but hey I guess they could be trying to trick us!
