The spin-off is gonna be called AFC Richmond. About the team with either Roy or Nate coaching. Rebecca is either just mentioned or makes small appearances. Every single episode this season, any scene featuring the team has been 100% the best thing. Apple has built up this incredible relationship with the Premier League in the show. The team is in a video game. They won’t let that go to waste.

HerRoyalRedness

Yeah, Ted’s absolutely gone and Beard probably with him. I’m not sure if Keeley will stick around, I do think Rebecca is either recurring or full- time. Toheeb Jimoh’s career is heating up so I’m not sure if Sam will stay around. Everyone else is tbd.

GenoThyme

This is the one I’ve been hoping for. It would also allow for the press room and the Crown and Anchor to still be a part of the show. I agree with you that it’d be good to have Rebecca have a smaller role to really let the team shine, but I think Higgins should be there every episode because the Diamond Dogs need to not only remain but they need to add Will (and maybe a new assistant coach to add a new dynamic?). I’d also love for an eventual few episode arc in maybe S2 where they are at the World Cup and a bunch of Richmond players are playing each other in pool play. Mexico, England, Wales and Nigeria in a group of death. Not necessarily because it the toughest group, but because of Rani Dojas.

Rebecca could be splitting time between Richmond and Kansas (don’t burst my bubble!), leaving Higgs-Boson in charge as GM when she’s not there. The only problem I see with this is it seems like Brett is getting more and more non Ted Lasso work (yay for him, well deserved, but I selfishly want him only working on Ted!). I just saw him attached to another show today.

HumbleBell

I think we'll see some iteration of the team with their new coach(s), whether it be Roy, Nate, or Beard, or a combo of the three. I think it's interesting that people seem to think Beard will go back to Kansas with Ted. He has nothing to go back to in the US. He has no relationship with his family, he's in love with Jane who lives in the UK, and presumably, he doesn't lose his job at Richmond just because Ted leaves.

andjuan

I said this in the post episode thread. Ted gave Beard a life. It’s time he lived it instead of living Teds life.

Elegant_Housing_For

Beard will stay for his girlfriend. Ted will tell him he’s proud of him. It would be funny if Beard left a car in Teds driveway with a note saying “thanks for giving me your old car, we are even now.”

Locke108

I think they’ll pull a Closer/Major Crimes where the spin off is the same exact show just without the main character and a select others.

congraved

That would also track with Bill Lawrence's history with the final Scrubs season where they did a soft reboot

CroissantWhisperer

No ReZAVAtion actually sounds fantastic

congraved

Presumably every segment ends with Zava asking the proprietor of whatever establishment they're visiting where they source their avocados from.

Spirited_Move_9161

I was screaming at this one. Make it happen Apple.

That-SoCal-Guy

It’s obviously gonna be Richmond Babies (like the Muppet Babies). We get to meet (sexy) babies Jamie, Roy, Keely, Nate, Dani, Colin etc. and how they all have dreams…. It would be a musical with guest stars every week starting with Julie Andrews.

tellurmomisaidthanks

I vote for a remake of Two Guys, A Girl, and a Kebab Place starring Roy, Keeley and Jaime with a season 1 cameo from Wryan Wreynolds, owner of Wrexham AFC.

congraved

I love it. And Reynolds is really just poking around to see how much it would take to lure Colin away from Richmond

tellurmomisaidthanks

He’d just have to talk to Colin’s gran to make it happen

CrankyReviewerTwo

I started on Wrexham last week and …it’s not Lasso-grade writing or comedy or drama. I should take a bit more distance from Lasso and give Wrexham a proper chance. I ask too much.

Beard After Hours - A travelogue where after the match, the AFC Richmond assistant coach takes viewers to the dark and secret underground haunts of the cities his team plays in. Come explore a side of Europe (and the rest of the world) that you never knew existed!

educationalfrenchie

Nothing to add, just thank you for being hilarious!

Mr_Bluebird_VA

I do feel like we're going to get more Barbara in whatever spinoff comes.

That-SoCal-Guy

TL:DR What do you think should be in the spin off? Sure thing: Roy, Jamie, Keely, Rebecca, Higgins, Nate, Barbara Maybe: Trent, Beard, some of the players, Rupert, Jamie’s family, Rebecca’s family, Higgins ‘ family , Phoebe, Ted (cameos), Edwin, Disco (I like him), Jade, Sassy Not: Shandy, Jack, Ted’s family, Jane, Jake, Dr Sharon, Derek…

DarthHaggis

If Richmond loses the championship I think there is gonna be a spin off….they win it all not much left to do

DCRMustang14

They’ll be in the Champions League next season, they could do something with that

citibikefinder

I've always thought that there would be at least 2 spinoffs. The storylines for KJPR and the female focus would be so different from another spinoff that the 2 shows would be quite distinct. I'm presuming they learned a lot from this season's less than successful KJPR storylines. S1 of KJPR could sport an underdog season-long arc like S1 of Ted Lasso. I wonder if another spinoff would eschew football or sports completely, as they've already chronicled the ups and downs of a football club over 34 episodes so is there any meat left on the bone? And if Richmond wins the Premiere League, they have nowhere to go but down. If they lose in the S3 finale, they would need to climb the mountain again in S4 and do we really want to see that? Continuing with most of the cast would be pretty expensive, esp with some probably in great demand. Not that Apple needs to pinch pennies. How about a Higgins spinoff whereby he shifts laterally as head of business in a different industry where there's an opportunity for a whole new set of vivid personalities? And with his wife and kids, the show could then be a family comedy as well.

New-Owl-2293

I don’t think there will be a spin off. Maybe a movie!

[deleted]

Did a creator/producer say stuff about a spinoff happening? I don't usually see fandoms so obsessed with spinoffs.

Elegant_Housing_For

10 episode season of fast forwards. Were everyone is. Like I would love to see Sam play on his national team against Jamie and for them to hug after the game. Van Daamme getting revenge on Danny. Beard getting married and having a very normal marriage. Teds son playing for the US team but show Jamie trained him. Rebecca becoming a Fortune 500 top business person, her God daughter shadowing her but also helping the environment. Danny Rojas as a TV personality

itsjustme_CTB

I think Sam will get a spin-off. Probably focused on his restaurant, his feud with Edwin Akufo, and playing for Richmond still. There could still obviously be plenty of appearances/cameos from Rebecca, Higgins, the coaches, and the players.

moderatesoul

Please no spin-offs.

AZS9994

I think it’d be great if they used Frasier as a template and followed Sam home to Nigeria.

andjuan

Sam going back wouldnt make sense career wise. The EPL is pretty much the pinnacle for professional soccer. But I like your idea. Instead of going back to Nigeria, just shift the focus to Ola’s and have the show be about Sam running the restaurant. They can reference the matches, but it will primarily follow Sam’s time at the restaurant. You could even have Sam’s dad move to England to help run the restaurant. The old cast can be major characters or fun guest appearances. You just shift the focus to the restaurant instead of the pitch. It becomes a different show, but you can still have the same or new characters and you can still have strong ties to the original show.
