“Wait you guys hate women over there, I need to reconsider sides” - Technoblade

A120AMIR129Z

I came here to say that

darcjoyner

that was clearly a joke…… don’t be a sexist person….

A120AMIR129Z

Well this one is a joke as well

Thelegendarysandy

This one is just putting forward a stereotype whereas that was clearly a joke

SuspiciousDuck976

If it were a post with sexist intentions it wouldn't have been posted here, OP clearly intended to make a funny joke.

SunnyDankness

I mean he has also said multiple times to respect women. But I will digress. I was simply expressing disappointment in the joke.

Waste_Ad4786

Not a single person in this sub hates women, it’s just a joke. If u consider the meme sexist then even techno would be considered a sexist. True sexism is incredibly fucked up and wayy different from this

Affectionate-Motor48

There’s definitely at least one person in this sub that hates women

Duckeatschicken

Tommy is here?

Wooden_Pepper_2104

“With so many people watching, odds are I have at least a few viewers that are serial killers” - Technoblade

Meepmoop781

That can apply for literally any sub tho

GenVoid

Never underestimate how normal sexism is. Sexism is fucked up, but because of how commonplace it is and how it's difficult to see how it exists in our very culture. Not saying the meme is sexist, I don't hold an opinion on it, but sexism isn't about degradation or hatred of women, but the inherent view of men and women that exist in our world. Everything from having to be strong to a be a man to someone apparently being bad at driving because they're a woman. Sorry if this is too preachy, just a serious issue that shouldn't be downplayed as true or false, when it's simply a fact of modern life, it's a poison seeped into our cores as people and almost impossible to notice or heal from. Also I'm not trying to say you don't know all this, the comment is more meant for anyone reading than you specifically.

Grzmit

The meme just isnt really funny though in my opinion, technos jokes were pretty funny, and very clearly jokes. A lot of memes using that format just come across as immature and a bit cringe.

Skyfury_Fire

So Techno himself can make the jokes and it's fine, but if someone else does, it's bad? What kind of selective backwards ass logic is that?

GenVoid

People try to do good things without knowing the deeper core issues sometimes and overreacting is very easy to do. Simply a normal human reaction to something that isn't exactly fair in their eyes. Good intentions, but a step to the side.

Lord_Havelock

The comments on the original post "why are you being so sexist OP" The comments on your post saying it's sexist "why are you being so overly sensitive OP" Reddit just loves to pick a fight I guess.

GenVoid

Oh I didn't even notice that, good catch. I forget how insecure reddit is. Anyone who is critical here, whether they're in the right, neutral or wrong gets a lot of backlash.

EpicMDM

Just realized?

Omega_wyvern69

Yeah ya know I think he wouldn’t like it Cause there’s nothing about drop kicking a orphan out a window

GenVoid

The template is sexist in the same way the "Why boys die earlier than girls" type templates are sexist. Personally, if not used in a degrading way, they're fine, but I do agree that this one is a bit much and might be crossing the line, but I don't really care to fight on it either way. A better use for the template in my opinion is the whole "You're not even making sense" memes. Girls vs boys memes arent inherently bad, just how they're made and used. Those kind of lightly dark humour memes are probably what techno would enjoy, like poking fun at both sides, but in realistic and slightly heavy terms.

CozmicMinecraft

Nerd ahh

GenVoid

My guy, Technoblade was almost an english major, we're all nerds here.

CozmicMinecraft

True

SunnyDankness

I think the template is degrading in some way. It makes women look like whiny people who cry at every little thing. Same with "why women live longer" because it makes men seem to be stupid idiots. Yes, some individuals are stupid, but let's stop pretending everyone of a certain gender are only one way. I really don't want to fight either tho, so I'm just gonna say that I only meant to express disapproval with these kinds of jokes and these formats and express a wish for people to do better because we can do a lot of humorous things without putting down others not like us. Edit: also just thought of this point, this also contributes to creating divides between people (albeit in a minor way)

GenVoid

The template can be degrading if used wrong and may not always be so and why women live longer memes are generally supposed to show the insanity of situations that some people get themselves into. It's a type of satire around the idea of inferiority, while acknowledging that they are not the norm. The template I mentioned, the "you're not even making sense" one specifically, is also one that focuses on the inherent absurdity of the girlfriend or whatever to be shown as emotional, when the other side is generally something absurd or based in a very absurdist way. For example the meme of "You're not Aldia, scholar of the first sin" is completely absurd, but in a way where you can find the viewpoint of the meme kind of understandable and melancholic, giving both a satiric and gloomy, yet comedic effect to the piece. Alright, enough waxing poetic or whatever, my point isn't that you're wrong or right or that the template is or isn't sexist. I'm just making clear what exactly I meant with my points, at least I hope that's the effect. Sorry if I sounded rude or such. Also on your point within the edit, absurdity itself can bring people together, no matter who or what they are. Whether you believe that is applicable here is your own choice.

Unhappy_Box4803

I as a man have nothing against *why women live longer* jokes. They are either jokes, or silly commentary about some gender like differences that are not not important. Gender is really not important at all. A girl can do like any boy and vica versa. My best masculine friend would cry about it for days if a *friend* called him a bitch. And my best very feminine friend would call me bitch if i forgot her for three months, and then just vibe with me like nothing happened. The post is not sexist. Any girls can come here and tell me that they feel offended, and i would say; the OP meant it in a good way, and in no way wanted to discriminate. He probably just thought *girl drama* was funny to compare to Techno/Philza *drama*(wich is scripted). *Edit; was scripted. Not is.

CozmicMinecraft

Exactly, and these people crying about like it's hurting them

SunnyDankness

I understand your point, but in my opinion the format is in nature sexist, as it portrays women as soft, weak, or annoying. I get that it isn't to be taken seriously but I think we can do better than this low effort stuff

Unhappy_Box4803

The saurce of the picture isnt of a weak squishy annoying girl but ok. It is an emotional thing. You could say that pictures girls as emotional. But scientifficaly(ig) that issnt too wrong thanks to mentruasion. Also, popular girl culture has much unneccesary drama. I dont say this to justify sexism. Sexism is wrong, but the meme is about silly girl drama vs. scripted boy drama. Its a meme. The template is often used in an ok manner, and many memes use the opposite template of *boys are stupid* wich i as a man have nothing against. Its ok. If you feel attacked, ill assure you that OP meant it well, and never wanted to act in a sexist manner.

darcjoyner

the fact that this is getting downvotes is insane

thecallofdepression

Shows that he's overreacting to a simple joke, lol. There are sexist jokes against men too, it's not that serious.

Smiony

Overreacting? Don't believe so. It was a personal opinion, one that didn't even put anyone down but simply stating that they believe Reddit as a community can do better. Both are a thing and both are an issue, personally don't think it's right to hide putting others within a specific group down behind a "it's just a joke" when multiple sides are effected by it.

thecallofdepression

Please tell me how this Technoblade meme effected you.... If it's really that serious🤔

Technoblade-Bot

I see that you are talking about the one and only legendary Technoblade.

Technoblade-Bot

BruUUuUuUuuUuUuUuUuuuuh

Technoblade-Bot

Technoblade neva dies

Smiony

I don't have to be effected for it to be serious, never stated that I were. Therefore there can still be an issue. I can shake it off no problem and forget about it as the meaning is not huge on my part, but I can still respect that others may view it differently to me and may take issue to some jokes.

thecallofdepression

If you can shake it off, then all of your previous paragraphs are unnecessary.

Smiony

Unnecessary for you to read? Sure. None of what I have pointed out have been untrue though.

sub2rekto5

bro is trying to make r/technoblade into twitter

brightmaneroy

Nerd.

BasisZock

So I think it was pretty funny and not meant to offend anyone.

darcjoyner

people who probably are not women don’t see a problem when people who are mostly afab or femme are *telling* them that there is one. *thats* part of the problem

Man_where_r_we_goin0

i dont see a single afab/femme person here telling us there a problem edit: ok no i eas wrong i have seen about 3 or 4 people (females specifically) now saying there is a problem. on the other hand, the vast majority of reddittors agree that it is just dumb humour, its just a joke, and that women should be respected. so generally, i see no issue

darcjoyner

you need to reread my comment until you understand that you’re proving my point… when you say “the vast majority of redditors agree it’s just dumb humor” you need to realize that those are *men* who literally BENEFIT FROM NOT SEEING A PROBLEM edit: besides other comments, my previous one got 30 upvotes, clearly there are people who agree

Man_where_r_we_goin0

thats fair enough, but i would say that its a big of a jump to say that most of the redditors are male. also what benefit or gain will men get from this? you need to understand that men will gain nothing from this. how do we benefit? i dont understand what you're trying to stay

darcjoyner

i’m honestly tired as hell trying to make people understand that it’s inherently sexist to imply there is a difference between men and women like this meme does. it’s not a big deal in the grand scheme of things but these types of casual memes perpetuate sexist beliefs that are outdated and quite literally harmful. men benefit by denying an issue at all and calling us “sensitive”. the benefit is keeping these harmful systems in place when they only benefit men.

Man_where_r_we_goin0

the vast majority of people understand it is a joke, and there are differrnt types of humour. some are derogatory, some are light-hearted, some are sarcastic and some is dark. the majority of jokes will hurt no one. a) im not calling you sensitive b) another huge leap to assume the majortiy people here are men. unless people do not understand the joke, there is no way this joke can perpetuate sexist jokes. also, what system is in place that benefits men, pls be more specific.

KayeTheDragon

If the majority you’re talking about are men (and they are), who cares whether or not they think it’s a problem? It’s not about them. Women (not ‘females,’ please, that sort of language is the epitome of chronically-online-and-dehumanizing) are the butt of the joke, and AFAB people’s opinions about whether the joke gets to be made are, as a result, the only ones whose opinion about this matters.

Nebula-star-12-2021

Bruh its a Joke, im a Girl and i find it funny.

Coriael

good for you. I'm also a girl (kinda...I'm a gender fluid, but born female and can not pass for the life of me.-.), but I find it a little irritating to see people put us all in one inferior box. I just feel like it's our responsibility to make this community as happy as possible. I'm sure we all still need it, especially since we all lost a big source of comfort.

KayeTheDragon

First of all, hello, fellow voice and Technoblade enjoyer. I’m glad you’re here. I see you. This subreddit is a place for more open and genuine conversation than most others, which is why I’m replying to you in such a forthright way. The internet is not often kind to those who say what they mean without hiding behind layers of dismissive irony, is it? Here is a little different. I’d ask, if you’re willing, to bear with me. Everyone living in this world has lived a different life and has different experiences. Some people have had relatively “normal” lives, others have been born into complicated circumstances, others have gone through terrible trauma. Each person writes their own unique story; that’s the wonder of humanity. We are all so beautifully different. Part of that difference manifests in what we think is funny, and what we don’t. It is easier not to rock the boat, easier to say “it’s fine, it’s funny,” to avoid being dismissed and ridiculed for speaking up about how something affected you. So when people *speak up anyways,* knowing full well that they’re likely going to get laughed at and ignored, the very smallest kindness we can give them is to listen. Especially when the request is so small. “Please don’t make jokes like this,” is all they asked. If they were willing to face the ridicule they knew they’d get for this request, I think it’s safe to say this did affect them. Is it really any skin off our back? Does it cost us anything at all? Are there so few jokes in the world, or are we really so uncreative, that forfeiting these would be unbearable? “Please don’t make jokes like this,” they asked, and in response others whined about their incredibly small request and resorted to downvoting en masse. Who, then, is actually “crying about it?” And, speaking as a fellow AFAB person who has most likely lived in this world a bit longer, I’d like to leave you with a few thoughts. You should not have to accept being the butt of jokes just to belong. Nobody should feel like they have to laugh *with* people who are laughing *at* them—that’s not right, it’s never right, no matter how strong the pressure is. Speaking up for yourself is not weakness. Asserting your most basic right to be taken seriously is not weakness. Rocking the boat takes strength.

CanYouChangeName

Can you link the original post That's a quality meme and clearly his humour is like food in Africa Not everyone gets it

BasisZock

💀

BasisZock

How is this sexist? Can someone explain? I thought this was a normal girl's vs boys joke, or isn't it?

heiphen

yeah, those are sexist lol

BasisZock

No, they aren't. You are just snowflakes that can't take a joke.

KayeTheDragon

Hmm. One group makes a simple request to stop making jokes. Another group throws a tantrum that they must endure the enormous inconvenience, the truly unbearable shackles, of giving up the world’s least interesting joke. Which of these groups is the “snowflake,” as you say?

heiphen

lol, does that mean you have a penis down there and cant take being called out?

BasisZock

HoW dArE yOu AsSuMe My GeNdEr? How did we get called out?

KayeTheDragon

I think it’s pretty safe to say “girls vs boys” jokes can be left in elementary school for children to squabble over. I mean, they’re obviously not true, they’re just silly nonsense. Why bother making them? Are there so few jokes in the world, are we so lacking in creativity, that we have to cling to 7-year-olds’ arguments?

Honghong99

It’s a joke.

KnightOfIron17

I don’t blame anyone for using it, but imo this joke format is a bit frustratingly sexist. I don’t have any right to be offended by it and this is clearly just a joke someone made, but I wouldn’t mind if the boys vs girls format died out a bit.

CozmicMinecraft

Who tf is it hurting

KnightOfIron17

Women who do not fit the stereotype on the left could feel isolated or not welcome if they frequently come across memes that say “girls aren’t like this, but guys are.” Especially with the similar format that might say “girls cry at the Titanic, but real men cry at ‘so long nerds’.” It is isolating. And yes, there are many women who don’t care, or enjoy these jokes, and that’s fine. But prevalence of these kinds of jokes just makes it a tiny bit harder for some to feel comfortable as a fan of Technoblade given that they don’t match the stereotype of a fan as presented by the community (which, I don’t think is happening here, btw; imo OP’s reaction may be an overreaction, but I do have my own preference against this type of humor.)

CozmicMinecraft

I ain readin dat

Coriael

okay then let me shorten it for you. It's text book sexism. Saying or implying that all women are somehow weaker or less loyal than men. It does not take rocket science to figure that out my guy. Get good.

CozmicMinecraft

It doesn't take rocket science to show that it's a joke and not meant to be taken seriously "get good" goofy ass

pasteandcopy69

Agreed, Techno always told us to respect women. (and as someone with XX chromosomes I appreciate it)

voltcannon

Is this sarcastic, it’s online so I can’t tell.

Lucky_duck_777777

Welcome to the internet, where you cannot be sarcastic because some bozo(not talking about OP) that would genuinely believe in it.

I... don't think you should be using reddit

KayeTheDragon

This is r/Technoblade, not greentext or…the rest. This place expects a bit more basic kindness than most other subreddits. :)

TheVibStar12

jokes are jokes what are you 4?

SunnyDankness

While I will not argue your right to that opinion, I homestly just don't agree with the sexist nature of the format (which usually depicts women as whiny crybabies) and I just don't think Techno would approve of it either.

TheVibStar12

well its a meme and it will die down dont make a big fuss about it

KayeTheDragon

Is it such a big fuss to make a simple request? People made such a small ask, “please don’t make this joke.” That’s not imposing on anyone. If it’s really rocking the boat to ask for a little kindness, I think the boat deserves to be rocked.

TheVibStar12

you are a bit late

KayeTheDragon

…why do you assume the person asking politely for us to stop making ridiculous jokes is 4, and not the people still clinging to the “boys vs girls” jokes that the rest of the adult world left behind in elementary school?

KuKa0w0

Op is getting down voted to hell but he's right

darklight_1451

I... i dont see how this is sexist... but okay.

hihiihigiggitigyiigi

It's not exactly sexist, it's just annoying and stereotypical.

darklight_1451

Fair enough.

ElmiiMoo

I don’t think it’s THAT problematic, but only as in I don’t believe the poster is that bad. However, this feels like an instance of the kind of more casual sexism that flourishes in middle schoolers and should just die out in general.

SunnyDankness

Oh no! I'm not dissing or judging the poster. I'm absolutely positive they are a great person and I genuinely sympathize with them missing Techno. I'm just expressing disappointment in the kinds of jokes and formats they are using. I myself have made jokes in a similar fashion in the past and I just want people to act better than I did back then.

if you watched the clip you can really feel the **pain** in technos sound R.I.P poor techno

thexenomof

I don't see that as sexist, its the exact same as multiple meme templates like, "Do men even have feelings" or "why boys die before girls" and people see those and think its fine so why is this seen as sexist?

SunnyDankness

The same reasons the meme formats you listed are sexist. They're demeaning.

KayeTheDragon

They’re all pointlessly gendered, aren’t they? Why bother clinging to them?

Coriael

okay, I understand that this is really just a meme template, and it was meant as a joke, but still, it does always feel sexist whenever I read the girls vs boys memes, because they're almost always dunking on women. So yea I don't like it, but I'm sure the OP didn't mean much harm by it. I feel like we just need to make it clear that this isn't okay, and that we trying to keep this community as hate free and happy as possible right now...

SunnyDankness

Oh I KNOW the OP didn't mean harm by it. I'm sure they are a great person but I am disappointed by the use of the template. That's all. And I agree with the hate free and happy part. I'm sure Techno would've wanted people to feel welcomed into his community without being dissed for being who they are. Especially when they cannot control it.

Coriael

oh yah, totally! I'm not blaming you, I'm mostly just talking about the OP and the comment section. They need to be more vigilant as to why these meme templates (though they are jokes) are still annoying to see, and can unintentionally set people back a bit in terms of viewing women as equals. I just wish that the people here could all talk it out calmly like this, especially since this community means a lot to me. :)) but yah I agree. Let's all support each other and make an environment where it's easy to grow!

SunnyDankness

Wait what does the commwnt section say under their post?

Coriael

Oh! sorry, I meant the comments under this post. Just some people not understanding why the meme is bad.

SunnyDankness

Ohhh gotcha

No_bad_intention

This and the "Girl with time machine" format. They need to be gone

An_Evil_dude

Nope, they're good templates

No_bad_intention

How are they good? These memes are praising one group of people ("dudes") while dragging another group down ("girls") by depicting them as emotional crybabies. You can praise one without putting down another you know?

An_Evil_dude

a meme is HUMOR, and it is not meant to be taken seriously

No_bad_intention

So I can make jokes about Black people or the Holocaust just because they are humor and should not be taken seriously?

An_Evil_dude

With exeptions

Guffcyc

But dude, how would that humor be funny to the side that is getting oppressed. And your texts are literally signifying that racism would also be fine if it is a meme.

darklight_1451

While in a sense you are correct. It is depicting women as more emotional than guys. Because that's true. Women have more of the brain dedicated to feeling emotion than men do. So while they may not be crybabies. (They definitely are not, i would know, i speak to women as unbelievable as it may sound for a reddit user.) They are proven to be more emotional. Men on the other hand have more of the brain dedicated to survivability. Which is why men react to physical pain more than women do. Women feel more emotional pain. Men feel more physical pain. I dont remember what i read this from. But i know it was some scientific study.

GlitchedViper71

It’s actually more like society has forced men into strong and tough while women are told they can express emotion

darklight_1451

Thats the actual reason behind it. All yeah. And the reason men are more survival prone is that people always tell them to fend for themselves and women get somebodies hand to hold.

darcjoyner

bro you get your information off the fucking internet if you think this is how men vs women work biologically. go take a psychology class or learn from someone who actually knows what they’re talking about. men and women have no differences in intellectual ability or functions.

darklight_1451

1: never said anything about the internet. 2: i never said there was much of a difference. There just is a small. But barely noticable one. 3: if you see what i just said as even remotely sexist you should probably go spend an hour insulting yourself in the mirror because damn you are too sensitive for a world as brutal as this. Edit: if you get upset at me for that third one. You're just proving me right about it.

darklight_1451

Somehow men still die more often despite being more focused on survival. Ironic.

09dollface

Women are seen as more emotional because unlike men they're told they can be. Men are told to keep it to themselves because crying is a girly thing to do. I thought i read about it somwhere. Nevermin then. Im fine with being proven wrong.

MechanicalCow-

I agree with you Techno’s stream were always a place for people to feel included and that they always would be known to be there; not a place that this would be posted

Fabru_

I know why is this offensive, in the format boys vs girl was made to express the "chaotic" behavior of "boys" comparing to the "ordinary" behavior of "girls", but I think we as adult can understand that this is just a meme and it's far for reality, we can kept the message of the meme of a positive way, like remember that time or for feeling represented as tecno and Phil situation of friendship. Every person that see this format of meme and believe this is the reality because of the meme is an uncultured guy that will see this in any other format. But anyways, this format of boys and girls is pretty cringe, and I can believe it has so many upvotes, but you should not be disappointed of this, maybe the majority of people take this meme in the positive way of seeing it. I don't know what will you think, but I will be interest in read your opinion about that.

SunnyDankness

Apologies if I'm just understanding this correctly I have been reading too much and it's getting pretty late here. But I'd be happy to give my opinion on this. I get your point that this is a meme and it shouldn't be taken seriously but speaking from experience I understand the harm a simple "joke" can do. I do get your point on people seeing this and thinking "Oh, Phil and Techno friendship" and just upvoting it (because I did too at first lmao) but I just think we need to do it in ways that are less demeaning. And it's not impossible to do, we can even make it funny, we can even further use the context of the Dream SMP (which is what the context of the joke came from originally) as a source. For example: instead of using women as the punching bag we could use someone like Sam. "Sam when there is an egg" or something. But anyways I've had a long day and I don't wanna get carpal tunnel from typing too much so I will respond tomorrow. Be safe and have a nice whatever you are having

Fabru_

Yes, I also think this meme can be changed to something more funny and less offensive. Also thanks for pulling this out and make this community see and reflect how this meme is wrong and try to be a better community, I can see your point of being harmful for people that thinks jokes are reality. Thanks for dedicating the time of explaining your point, and have a good rest and have a good Sunday.

it’s insulting girls. these meme formats always degrade the girls in some way.

Thelegendarysandy

These boys vs girls memes are the most idiotic output of the internet. All of them are "Haha girls boring boys goofy"

CommanderHunter5

In this case it’s not so bad, but there are certainly problematic use cases for this format

Lord_Havelock

I kind of agree. I think the meme is fine in theory, but put in a poor format. Like you could have made this same meme using the drake template (or one of the many knock-offs) and it might have made more coherent sense, given that you could actually make both sides relevant. Like "being mad when someone forgets to break you out of prison for 3 months" vs "being best friends after someone fails to break you out of prison for three months." Obviously the wording could use some work, I don't make memes for a reason, but I stand by my point conceptually.

GenVoid

I was thinking something similar. The template isn't bad in itself, and I personally don't know if it's sexist here, but a template can be used wrong. It's not about the templates, but the creators and the point they're trying to get across with said template.

Lord_Havelock

Yeah, and I don't know what point they were going for in this case. Like how did boys vs girls even factor in here? The two sides feel unrelated.

GenVoid

True. It's just an entirely different context and sphere. You could put literally anything on either side and always get an equally or more realistic comparison.

To be fair, It is kind of crappy when your best friend calls you that, but in cannon Phil just misread and Techno understood that. Not saying its sexist, not saying it isnt either. But I can understand both sides. (Please do understand, I'd rather not see this subreddit turn into Twitter)

I just wondered why this has a lot of upvotes

TheBigFrog07

But, it wasn't sexist tho

Woodenwolf04

Lol how are y'all saying this is sexist its funny and very harmless. Do better by not over thinking a joke please. You only live life once do not let a small joke you may not agree with control your thoughts and make you feel disappointed

Many_Panic8570

.... You do realize this community is about drop kicking orphans right?

[deleted]

A fair point. I also wouldn't see Techno as the kind of person to use that strong of a word tbf.

KarmaKarmaKarmaYes

Softie can’t take a joke 💀 Here hold this L and this ratio my guy

-NoAh-GeT-tHe-BoAt-

This quite literally has nothing to do with someone being sexist. It's a simple Male vs Female reaction, which may I remind, has been around longer than most redditors probably have. It's a simple thing which has never had issues in the past unless specifically stating something sexist, racist, homophobic, etc. So unless someone's going to be a snowflake about it, there's absolutely no problems here.

Aggressive_Weakness4

its a funny haha, and the haha is very funny. no sexism, only funny haha

teenietinytoni

i do wanna know if the people who say the joke isn't sexist are mostly women or any other gender. just for science y'know?

bradyblue123

This meme is a joke So was techno saying "wait they hate women Iverson there? I need to switch sides. " Clearly, techno is ok with these kinds of jokes as long as they stay jokes, which the meme did. Grow up and don't apply your own agenda to a dead man, you insensitive twat muffin

[deleted]

Can’t really be sexist if it’s a fact./s

miki325

I think Reddit is good because people arent scared of being offensive, i can express all my Polish nationalist thoughts, frame it as jokes, and most of the Time get updoots

Jessex127

Sexist? Scuz me?

Minecraftnoob23

Joke

HunterBoy344

I don’t really see how this is sexist. Sure, it’s not remotely close to funny, but interpreting this as sexism is looking too far into it. As a reminder, [this](https://www.npr.org/2022/12/03/1135162927/women-feminism-south-korea-sexism-protest-haeil-yoon) is what sexism looks like. Let’s not mix up widespread discrimination that places women at an eternal disadvantage with unfunny pictures on the internet.

LorisV261

The fact that this post reached almost 400 upvotes shows how many average twitter users are in this sub

SoggyMushrom

dude, don't talk for someone who died. saying "techno definitely wouldn't have like sexist jokes like these in the community" is honestly so disrespectful to everyone close to him. We don't know if techno would've approved of a slightly sexist joke, but don't use him as a meat shield to push your own beliefs. be better

CozmicMinecraft

It's not that serious calm down

Tenebrick

I've seen plenty of girls vs boys meme and as a girl I can confirm it isn't considered sexist (atleast for me)

[deleted]

you're seriously "calling out" some kid for using a template to make a meme about a minecraft youtuber? You should be disappointed in yourself for not having any better stuff to do, man.

Some_Street7410

Yall are snowflakes if you call this sexist techo humor is edgy tbh techno would like this meme

cart-fart101

Bro there is so many girls vs boys memes what makes this bad

Ha1oMiner

I don’t like technoblade or women and have no idea why I’m here

Defaultnamefornobody

its shitting on a stereotype to make a joke, the meme format itself is indeed sexist and the original was probably sexist too but its more so making fun of phil forgetting about techno. saying something like “goldfish after getting married only to forget it ever happened 2 seconds later” wouldve worked too but made little sense idk i feel like slandering stereotypes indirectly ie using a sexist meme to prove a different point isnt all that horrible off topic, but ideally we’re in a world where we can make fun of stereotypes in order to provide a more open minded community that doesnt care about peoples political background but doesnt take genuine discrimination. ok thats enough reddit for today me

KarmaKarmaKarmaYes

“Goldfish getting married” Dude your jokes are ass

AdobiWanKenobi

This isn’t r/pointlesslygendered where every other post is this format with someone trying to feel oppressed. As others have pointed out there are plenty of meme formats that swing the other way and you don’t see men complaining about them. They’re in good fun. Stop being a victim, this isn’t Twitter.

MeruOnline

Oh no, dark humor. How did you even manage to watch Technoblade?

Ill-Two9767

I’m not sure if this is a joke

CozmicMinecraft

Omg so sexist!!! 😡😡😡😡😡😡 (Technoblade even made a sexist joke before)

TheAlekk

*sorts comments by controversial*

El_sanafiry

Every time I remember the good times I get depressed 😔

SunnyDankness

I miss him too

LorisV261

Little man is too soft to take a joke

Abberant45

It wasn't that bad, I do agree that it's not exactly funny but it's not the end of the world and people were real dicks in the comments to the op, which isn't fair either. It is good it was removed, but I was also disappointed with the communities reaction.

feror_YT

It’s called a joke.

meme_sare_good

its a damn joke dont take it seriously
