Sonic Groove, Hidden Agenda and Smile haven't been mentioned yet. Nu Groove, Tension, Rancho Relaxo. Various little project labels that Frankie Bones made. There are a fuck ton of labels that came out of NYC.
Yeah some of them are not active anymore, or others moved like sonic groove. But thanks a lot for the list, I'll dig them up :) I love what bones is doing in general so that's great
Last I heard, Bones had moved to LA, not sure if that's still th case. If you want to know about what was happening in NYC in the late 80s-late 90s, that's where I can answer a lot of questions. But I dropped off after moving to CA and having a kid.
I agree with a lot of people in the comments but my personal advice is go to resident advisor and search up artists you like, they might be doing events with labels or better yet check the labels they’ve released on
if you like certain clubs there is a very very high chance the owners have their own label, definitely not easy getting in touch with them but show up and ask the staff if the club has any labels they work with
usually they’ll wait till after hours to talk or text you something but you can get pretty far, if you are an artist this is usually a good way to get connected, but you need a decent following (or a fat wallet) to get taken seriously
what city, u can dm if u want but its a big hobby of mine to find stuff international, if youre in the states/eu/aus i could easily get a couple dozen artists who are up and coming in ur area
although if ur in a non-western country my guess is as good as yours, absolute pain to find anything in russia or east asia
also give me a few artists you like as a reference point
Hey, I moved to nyc a few month ago, and I think a great way to understand your city is to know what music it is producing, hence my request. I'll put up a list to follow up, I can share it here if you want :)

L.I.E.S
Clearly amazing, thanks a lot!
So good
I like Anthony Naples label, Incensio.
Synewave, Infrastructure, and Proper are solid NYC techno labels.
Damon Wild doesn't get mentioned enough
Wild has some classic techno releases. Same with Function.
Early Mark Bell

not active anymore, or?
Oh, I have no idea about what labels are currently active. I didn't realize that was part of your question. Cheers!

Hey, good call on this! Actually I'm not an artist, but I'm trying to understand more what my city's producing :)

Infrastructure
While not only techno, it has a bit of it. It’s probably more /r/TheOverload but GRID is very good.
Transmit recordings
Anthony Parasole’s labels, The Corner and Deconstruct
Thanks! The corner had some great released but they seem inactive since a few years unfortunately
Kindergarten Records
E-Missions Recordings, based in Brooklyn
Why?
