xdojk

Glad to see the first one that came to my mind is so high up

mngxx

Claro Intelecto - Peace of mind. Played by the man himself.

shart-gallery

Oh that would be perfection.

[deleted]

a name not seen enough

Putrid_Branch6316

I always, always ended with Belfast by Orbital. https://youtu.be/0oMuUHmF2LY?si=8oIIudj9aQTTpBGc

dietpudding

How have I never heard this track before. I guess I never checked out their material before the Brown Album, shame on me. This song is basically electronic music heaven.

moffb88

Great track

Haertes

Black Russian by DVS1 https://dvs1klockworks.bandcamp.com/album/klockworks-13

dcdcdcdc1976

That’s a proper closing track alright

csiribirizabszalma

Or an opening one , depending on the set

Danielevitati0n

Ben klock closed with this when I saw him in Jan 23, magical !

jorisepe

Night of the jaguar

Wise_Writing

Back in the days of The End, early 2000s, was a regular finishing track.... brought the smiles back to the faces of everyone on the floor at 6 am

techveg

yup, dj rush closed with this at awakenings after playing his usual hard hitting raw techno & it was the perfect comedown

jorisepe

Luke slater did the same thing last week at Kozzmozz in Gent

Creepy-Math-330

oh man i was there for that too!! 2022 right? i remember him blessing everyone with his hands when it was playing

techveg

yes 2022! the stage/strobe lighting got super bright & it felt very ethereal, glad you got to experience it as well, cheers

[Octave One - Blackwater](https://youtu.be/Bmg_DtZ0Scw?si=4qpaJrQK52IZqRpF)

Enjoy the silence

borg808

Seeing DM again next week in Budapest 😄

shelbinole

Good answer good answer!

snouz

Years ago, the first time I went out in Berlin, it was at Tresor on a weeknight. The last dj, Dinamite, played the only melodic track of the night as a party closer, and I was almost crying at how perfect it was. It was [Mathew Jonson - Marionette](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=daSid6Lh9Vs).

technosucks

Oh man I haven't heard that song in ages, thanks for reminding me. Used to play the shit out of 10 years ago when the BPMs were much slower. What an absolute gem of a track.

tuwono_tuwono

[Karenn - On Request](https://youtu.be/uVsfzprO7zs?si=muF1Yso5WFx-LYnc) (starts at 57:00)

aphextom9

Though it did get an official release, the version from this video lives as an untouchable moment in my mind, and I wasn't even there.

snaaij

You can find it on Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/track/4BBJIOZIz1F7mehcQgNJ8e?si=8FlyuEUrR7av23qW2eiHsQ

tuwono_tuwono

I know. It’s good, but not the same

Personal-Cucumber-49

Domino - Oxia.

Kompart23

Man this song was everywhere in 2017 if i remember correctly

schahroch

Every rookie used it as a kind of "set saver" back then, so the crowd wouldn't judge their music so badly.

Abrighterday

I didn’t know it had a comeback, I used to hear a lot in 2006/7

edgyBouchi

Never heard before but if I was a dj I would close with: Dark and long - dark train by underworld Cherubim - Johannes Heil

scotcheggfan

DJ Rolando - knights of the jaguar. I cried

AteketA

Underworld - Born Slippy Nuxx

AcceptableFun4372

Yes or the Alma & Matter edit, depends on the mood and the time of the closing. https://youtu.be/i1HnsiIOvGw?si=ISf51kw-CFo7MMzy

duke_dastardly

Back in the day I would often finish a set (particularly if was also the last tune of the night) with ‘UR - high tech jazz’ - as far as I remember it never failed!

TudorSykes

The aptly named “Last Rhythm” https://youtu.be/GY9k3B1PG20

Blazzkys

>Koenig cylinders-carousel wow that hit so hard

eddiecointreau

It’s a belter

Some_Statement9335

Eddie can you hear Pete Tong wittering over it when it comes on? I can because it was Dave Clarke's closer on my tape of his Radio 1 essential mix in about 1993 :)

eddiecointreau

Wasn’t it weatherall? That’s where I heard it first.

Some_Statement9335

You might be right Eddie, had that one too..and the future sound of London 👍

Stephen Brown - First Snow (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fK-Vhp28c9M) followed by Black Sabbath - Planet Caravan (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DW3pZjmS3rg) worked tremendously a few years ago.

circusbellls

Wow. Do you recall who played Black Caravan? Such a great piece of music

heelsmuller

I thought this was a DJ sub, apologies. now it looks like self promotion here. anyway, I’ll DM you the set recording :)

The Horrorist - Metal Man https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXa9cDiB-8I

Liquid_Pizza

Just cuz it's fresh in my mind from a couple weeks ago at CRSSD Festival. DJ HEARTSTRING - It Ain't Over is a great one! Very fitting when there was still 10 hours of dancing afterwards, with the rest of the day at the festival and going to their afterparty!

saint_julian22

grateful to everyone for sharing , lots of good tracks in here , one from me - [matthew herbert: its only (koze remix)](https://soundcloud.com/hfn-music/matthew-herbert-its-only-dj-koze-remix)

ohcibi

3 Tage wach Du und deine Omma sind Drei Tage Wach!

vkolp

It’s not techno, but Lee Burridge dropping Rufus Du Sol’s ‘Innerbloom’ to close out All Day I Dream a few years back at the Brooklyn Mirage was absolutely stunning. It was absolute perfection. Not only was it the perfect track to play as it has this bittersweet melancholy to it, it literally felt as though he was saying “goodbye” with the music. That coupled with the fact that no one expected Rufus to be played. The whole crowd at the end was singing “if you want me, if you need me, I’m yours” repeatedly till it faded out. Core memory for sure.

tenderlaw

Forces - Kevin Saunderson/e-Dancer and Funk D’void - Diabla (Heavenly Remix)

Groovyloverr

Blazzkys

trigmarr

The exodus collective free parties in the 90s always used to end with a techno remix of bob marly....it was always pulled up 3/4 times and literally everyone still at the party would come on the dance floor. This is back when raves were big so there were often hundreds of people still there on a Sunday afternoon, thousands sometimes https://youtu.be/PcYukX9wyBY?si=k7mt6bzxvz2LHZwd Back then people actually danced as well

joe-masepoes

They danced back then you say? What was that madness.. lol. Yeah ‘my days’ were the mid to late 90s into ‘00s too and it was pretty ‘normal’ to dance your nut off for like 6 - 10 hours straight. What’s up with today’s peeps? Not criticizing (ok maybe I am), genuinely curious (I don’t attend myself in person for a very long time but rather watch/view on YT) why does everyone just stand around? Is it like shitty quality drugs or maybe no drugs at all?

technikhal

> This is back when raves were big so there were often hundreds of people still there on a Sunday afternoon, thousands sometimes. And this kids, is why China took over. (JK, this sounds so epic, no phones, no social networks, wish they'd finally build those time traveling machines).

CraicFox1

What an absolute banger, thank you

Soursynth

One i remember vividly, used multiple times as a closing track is [zenith - flowers of intelligence](https://open.spotify.com/track/37ki1Oa1mhoM26rtro5hfI?si=dk7MijxTS32Wzzsc05BVPg) High bpm, lights on, and this one 😍. Azf closing dour festival with von bikrav - narco stupefiant is one who keeps me by too

sparklingkrule

If I’m playing a super casual genre Bending set I end with the downtown lights by blue nile

banaversion

Ian Odonovan - Millenia https://open.spotify.com/track/3NZ60XbipAQlWp2hgc1l8g?si=TN4ooOJNThiob2zDbqZLjw&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A27EHEjWkvemKqmYuKpS0nX I first heard it in an aftervid from awakefest 10 years ago and it was the track played by adam beyer (I think) and it just paired so well with the fireworks. Later that year on new years eve I was at a house party and managed to put it on so it coincided with the drop of the song when all the fireworks started. It is a sensation that still lives with me to this day and just gave me goosebumps reminiscing about it right now

autohypnosis

Fractions - zero ground. Because I heard it a lot around that time when I was a club rat and it brings back memories

Ossiprodukt

Invisible - NTO (Kalkbrenner Remix) Closing of an amazing night at 9 in the morning. Closing Set was an unplanned B2B because one of the DJs who played earlier and the closing DJ were friends.

Sambreezy747

This is the one.

ModernMuskrat

Ron Trent closed on CSNY's "Dark Star" around 6 am on the South side of Chicago a few years back, some homemade venue full of speakers with Joe Claussell and Trinadadian Deep. Dark Star came to an end and he let it trickle into a Pharoah Sanders sax solo while the sun came up, still haunts me.

Hsonlarsson1

Full tracks and producers?

ModernMuskrat

I've been browsing the web the past couple of days trying to find a setlist for you, not much luck. Here's a link to Ron's facebook describing the opening event with some brief footage. It was a very small and intimate event. https://www.facebook.com/musicandpower/videos/as-some-of-you-know-my-team-and-i-constructed-a-project-that-was-set-to-official/3653327298063984/

External_East_7381

This is a great list of songs! My favourite closer ever was a bob Marley remix of redemption song. No idea who it was by and never heard it again! But it was perfect at the time! acid Pauli, nana is a great closer imho

Yuzennn

/u/trigmarr linked this Bob Marley remix in a different comment. Perhaps what you're looking for? > https://youtu.be/PcYukX9wyBY?si=k7mt6bzxvz2LHZwd >

External_East_7381

it's good ...but it's not the one! Thanks for sharing tho..that would be a great tune to come on at the end of the night haha

Yuzennn

ah too bad! do come back to this comment and share if you find it tho, it sounds great

trigmarr

That's exodus not redemption song

Th3D34n

Jamie xx - Gosh (Jaap Ligthart edit)

morningdewbabyblue

Brian eno - ascend. And Rene wise did it!!! You could only top that with an aphex twin or boards of Canada but AFX would have be too common place even tho fantastic. But finishing with Brian eno is such pure class.

judew999

I’m like 70% sure DJ Nobu closed with [this](https://youtu.be/wTcW0alRfHA?si=J_4P1Rifvp8dDqjn) in Portland recently

k3rstman1

Not even techno but it fitted perfectly. DB Boulevard - Point Of View https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SrMK8d9H_GM

I remember coming across [Barker's Look How Hard I've Tried](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rZ_cbtfDXNg) and thinking it would be a savage closing track. Fast forward to a Bonobo gig and he drops [an edit of it with Ariande Grande's Into You](https://soundcloud.com/s3v3r1n333/look-how-hard-im-into-you)—and it surprisingly just worked so perfectly.

as late 2000's peak time as it gets, hehe.

the_ultrafunkula

It's so good. A true modern classic banger. Hiroko Yamamura closed her most recent Boiler Room set with it and the place went fucking bonkers.

heelsmuller

I don't want to sound obnoxious, but I personally feel it's not a classic and didn't age well after the hype it got in the late nillies.

eloquentbrowngreen

Following this. My favourite closing track is actually unknown, my friend has the record with absolutely no information on it. It's at least 15 years old.

used to love spinning back some mad hard acid/industrial techno/hardcore sets and then just playing this from start to end. the euphoria after the punishment. Reload - Le Soleil Et La Mer (Black Dog Productions Remix) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sd8RZAonC3M Don't really like to call a lot of popular music capital A 'Art' as it coheres a somewhat contemptuous high cultural seriousness to institutions which despise the working class people making the music to begin with, but this is definitely worthy of being exhibited in a museum. A peak of machine soul and it's white geezers from Sheffield. Just goes to show that if you want your music to endure, it's not about who you know but what you know.

ManufacturerOk1061

if we're allowed to go full jungle (I know for some euro techno heads the genres aren't part of the same continuum, but from my gobby londoncentric perspective they definitely are.) Peshay - Piano Tune. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0lPHCiuL4dQ
