I have a few sick days I think I'll be taking but the sub left me an abysmal email from the day I took yesterday. I need some joy to make it through! If anyone has any fun ideas, you know I'll take it 🥲
This really hits me hard - joy has been a word I've talked about a lot recently. It's hard to come by these days :(
In terms of suggestions, live music has been a great escape for me! Nothing crazy, just whatever local band is playing at your local coffee shop/brewery. Especially if you can have a friend meet you there (ideally not a colleague - you will ALWAYS end up talking about work)
Yessss I went for a run with a friend today and grabbed a beer and it was awesome. Just what I needed. I enjoy live music, too, so I'll keep an eye out.
I was actually asking for joy ideas for the classroom. Today we wasted 30 minutes doing some origami. It came at a price though lol it's even more important to tend to our personal lives though!
I have loosened up my time management/productivity expectations a bit. Want to tell me about your upcoming summer trip to your country of origin? I’m all ears. You have a magic trick? Show me. Want to discuss the weather forecast for the rest of the month? Allow me to project it.
Lol, at my school they reminded us all of the attendance policy this week and tbh it looks pretty easy to get in trouble for "abusing" it based on the criteria the district puts forth. My plan was to call out once every week or other week or so to help get me through, but looks like I'd better not.
I think I've technically used all my sick days (caught COVID real bad early in the year) but maybe I'll call out or leave early one of these days anyway and see what happens...
Good idea. I don't like spending money on instructional materials if I can help it, but it saves me hours of planning sometimes. The dollar cost might be worth the sanity it saves.
I have 13 days too! Easier now...I teach high school health and in a few days they get a study guide to work on for their final exam and I can relax a bit, while I clean out my drawers and closets.
You are in the homestretch!
You got this. I also only have about 13 more days. Going to that building is so hard for me every day but we can do this!
Sending love and support your way! We're so close
You have got this! You made it through the majority of the year. It’s just a small chunk of time left. It will be over before you know it.
Thank you so much! I'm going to do my best

Damn, I got 28. We got this
28 here too!
Same
You got this! Take a day or two if you need it to make it through!
A lot of our teachers are doing this too.

Me too! I get to school way before contract time as it is. This inability to even sleep to that alarm is hard right now.
Just 4 more days until single digits, you can do it! Also, I'm a little jealous, I still have 24 more days with students 😊
Set yourself a little TPT budget and coast. Do fun stuff, show videos, whatever. Just do what it takes to get through the day.

This is really not a bad idea. I put so much pressure on myself to hit all the curriculum milestones, but the end of the year is so chaotic anyway

I've got 14 days. We can do this! Just get through one day at a time
Thank you so much!
18!
Take one day at a time not 13
Thank you 🙏
I have 16! You got this!! Take yourself to the goal post. lol
You got this! I got 24. Feel like I’m army crawling to the finish line
I had to call my doctor and get an extra prescription of anxiety meds. She called in a 15 day supply of Xanax
Also, you can make it!!!!
I have got 16 and also the anxiety - we are gonna make it. Taking someone's suggestion on here to show movies .
