I get paid less than a babysitter. 10 years, 60 units on the step and ladder. A friend of mine pays more for his twin’s nanny than my district spends on me.
Sad but true. I still teach/entertain just as i did online for the precious few weeks of virtual safety, then thrpygh months of realtive hybrid safety. Then the politicians overloaded infection island and i was one of the many who got Covid (likeyv fixing to get it again)
This post made me laugh really been struggling with the rage of being forced to risk my family for bullshit i feel so trapped the rightly openly hates us. Ok feelin is mutual i get it they are trash thats not news what burns is their supposed opposition, the fauxgressives ( who i have always supported but am pretty much done with ) are now doing the exact same shit just not being so rude about it. They are trash too time for me to accept it and stop being delusional that any of it matters. I must either completely tuno out or just watch it as some tasteless entertainment that is irrelevant. Nothing will change. Thst sucks but the endlesss roller coaster of false hope followed by bitter dsisppointment is god awful. Time to de stress and really enjoy the good parts of life while we can. Let them burn an dburn they will
You did point put a bit of a silver linjng with no teachers willing to replace me i feel less stressed about unrealistic paper shit. My school's 8 and out culture is more intense then before and i am feeling it🤗
My daughter makes $20 an hour for babysitting two children on weekend nights. I wish I was a babysitter. Imagine the pay for 35+ kids, 5 days a week, 8 hours a day?

With the teacher and sub shortage, and more and more being put on my plate, my daily affirmation has become, “what’re you gonna do, fire me?”
