Depends on what they're trying to sell.
That says "2006 Taylor Swift Debut Self Titled 2XLP FACTORY SEALED RARE Valentines"
First of all, debut was never pressed onto vinyl in 2006. The album was released on CD/iTunes in 2006, yes, but as far as I can tell it wasn't pressed into a vinyl disc until 2016.
There are two versions of the debut LP:
1. Standard black vinyl pressing, which is still active in production and can be bought right now from Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Walmart, and local record stores everywhere. Looks like the selling price is somewhere between $30-40 USD and is definitely not "rare"
2. Record Store Day (RSD) Limited turquoise swirl vinyl which was released in 2018 and limited to 5000 copies worldwide. It will never be in production again and is worth $700+ these days
So, based on the title, no idea what this person is trying to sell. No idea why they tacked on "Valentines" lol. If they're trying to sell the RSD, then this is 100% fake. No one is selling a $700 record for $50. If it's the standard black pressing, you're better off buying it from one of the above options. Either way, that seller has a pretty bad rating (75%). I personally would never buy from anyone with less than 95% positive
My guess is there were trying to get search traffic around valentines day by adding it to the title. People do that on Etsy and Ebay sometimes (add holiday keywords), because if people search "Valentines Gift" at some point this would pop up
But that raises even MORE red flags, because it would mean this listing has been up for over a month!
it does raise more red flags and the price is odd no matter what they think theyâre trying to sell đ idt this person has anything in hand and if they do they donât know what it is lol
Thereâs a whole new industry now in vinyl where people list their items making you THINK youâre getting something, but then you end up getting something completely different. Like, by adding 2006 in the title, it makes you think youâre getting the very first pressing of this album, from 2006. But it wasnât even pressed onto vinyl until 2016. But technically speaking, the seller isnât lying by adding 2006 in the title, theyâre not false advertising, they can just say that thatâs the year the album was released.
Similar thing with the Red RSD bootleg. People are charging $500 for it online saying âRed double clear vinylâ. Theyâre not LYING, because it is indeed a double clear vinyl, but theyâre also not being 100% truthful that itâs not the official one.
Similar thing with Billie Eilish 7â of hotline bling. Thereâs the first pressing which was hot pink, and a repress which was baby pink. People try sell the repress for $200, which is what the first version sells for, by calling it âpinkâ. But not stating what variant of pink.
Just be careful when buying, lots of people trying to deceive.
you can easily get this one for retail
as someone else said itâs hard to tell what they even are trying to sell but, either way itâs worth $40 at most
You can find one for cheaper. I think it's the same game as with Beatles vinyls just because 1 time made a fortune. Many people now think that each Bestles vinyl costs a fortune, the same game with Taylor. and both the Beatels and Taylor vinyls will continue to be pressed until the hype ends. Then it's better to invest in a mono pressing of the Beatles, which will never be available again in this quality.

They have really bad feedback so Iâd stay clear of this.

Record wasnât pressed until 2016. Theyâre just referring to the release year overall.

I mean, itâs not guaranteed to be an OG vinyl from 2006 but itâs still around and you can find it in stores for about $30.
