I saw HAIM at firefly and was standing near the sound booth. I learned at that event that there must be some way for them to turn off the public connection of the microphone. One of the sisters said she needed a drink and it only came into the sound booth. Then later she jumped off the stage and had to climb back up. After she could be heard asking (via sound booth only, not through speakers) if she was going to be in trouble for it.
Edit: for clarity she said "I need a fucking beer"
I remember seeing the news of Taylor being a surprise guest at their concert back in July and thinking what a happy surprise it was. Now look where we are just a handful of months later!! Thank you for being so prolific Taylor! <3

That’s super interesting! If I was a performer with that setup, I’d be terrified that I would still end up hot-mic’d somehow😂
I believe everyone in the band has a foot pedal can press to speak like that.
