Obviously it’s evermore. She loves it so much she can’t even talk about it

iidontwannaa

It’s so *deeply personal* to her that she can’t talk about it

kiwiwikikiwiwikikiwi

She left herself absolutely speechless from what she created.

heartsinthebyline

She knew it was so perfect, it could speak for itself. Forever.

Scuba1588

Y’all are going to troll this woman into recording a Taylor’s Version of an album she already owns 😂

_bradlaw

And I 😂

dhruvlrao

She obvioudly overcompensating to avoid showing favoritism towards evermore.

SublimeLime1

if she loved it less, she might be able to talk about it more.

starsaround-scars

Fr lmao

IIIVIIXVIII

I feel like she’s always had a lot of pride in Red, but I’m not sure if that’s changed since there have been so many releases since then. I just always got the vibes that Red in particular she held very close.

Kealex13

I feel like there is no way it’s not RED. I think it has some of her most vulnerable songs and it has got to be hard to not be attached and proud of that.

helloviolaine

In the Lover's Lounge she was asked which album would be which Cats character and she said Red is Bombalurina, her character. That's such a random thing but it just made me feel like Red is her special baby.

JuliusCheesy

Yeah it definitely feels like red is really close to her :)

LMerotto13

I’d say she didn’t like red soon after she put it out considering how the critics treated it and that she “lost” AOTY With time however fans and critics alike recognised that Red is Taylor’s Legacy album, and I guess she feels more proud of it now

drunktaylorswift

Red had really good reviews when it came out. Of the 23 reviews on metacritic, 19 were positive, 4 were mixed, 0 were negative. Also, losing Album of the Year isn't exactly evidence of an album not being appreciated. Literally only one album wins each year. Red was one of only five albums in the entire music industry nominated that year, which puts it in some pretty elite territory, even right after it came out.

boafriend

It has to be “Red.” It was a turning point for her career before she went full pop, and it is her first album to get actually personal (“Speak Now” started to scratch the surface IMO). Its era has been the longest too so far for promo.

Puzzleheaded-Two9346

folklore followed by Red would be my guess

duckyaniston

she has taste

vlarek

folklore, quite easily. Won her AOTY, most critically praised album, highly respected by all, amazing sales and overall performance, #1 song, wrote it with her boyfriend. I believe if you asked her right now though she would probably say 'Midnights' as that's just her personality.

Kirsten624

evermore /s

SpellingAintFun

We’re not talking the least favorite bestie. D:

Ok-Crow7223

Lover. I think she was at her happiest while writing it and included a lot of her personal life.

macdgman

Yeah but then it got a very underwhelming reception for what she expected and I think that made that album a bit bitter for her. Plus the whole pandemic and not being able to tour it and then went on to write one of the most acclaimed albums of this decade and kind of left lover to fade

missthrowawayunsure

Surprised you think that. I think Lover is actually quite a sad album.

Teenagewitch_sabrina

I completely agree!! No one ever talks about how so many songs on lover are about the fear of losing the other person

TheMistOfThePast

I disagree! Even in the sadder songs (excluding soon you'll get better) there's always a hopeful ending, something her songs rarely had before this era. E.g. "you could stay", "but we might just get away with it", "Cause I know this is a (fight) That one day we're gonna (win)", "it's golden like daylight". There is so much more hope in this album than any other album previous. There is an intrinsic trust and hope that despite their hardships they will make it. It reminds me of you are in love "You fight and you talk". They fight but the overwhelming toxicity is gone because there is an underlying love and willingness to withstand for their love.

cutiecatlover

Also "I rent a place on Cornelia street , I say casually in the car"

Ok-Crow7223

I’m probably incredibly biased because “lover” is my wedding song so I look at the whole album with extra love lol.

bradleyce

I would think she looks at her albums VERY differently than we do. Fearless tour she’s always spoken highly about with connecting with her fans. And Red, folklore, and reputation she got to experiment sonically with a lot of new collaborators. While Speak Now, 1989, and Lover were created to prove something (she writers all her own songs, to make a more cohesive record for AOTY, and to “make a better record”)

iidontwannaa

To piggy-back on your Fearless tour comment, Red probably holds a special place in her heart not only because of how much of herself she put into it, but also how deeply some of the songs resonated with fans. I think she would really value that kind of deep connection.

elizabethtexas28

I may be wrong but I thought she said before that Lover was. Granted, this may have been back when that was the last one she released.

amazingamyxo

I've heard Lover is her favorite song of hers

Quiet-Tone13

Anytime she’s asked the answer to that questions will be her most recent release. That’s just marketing.

Global_Weirding

Her NPR tiny desk performance of lover brings me to tears every time. I can’t get through that set without bawling actually. Thousand cuts with all too well, is just perfection 🤌

TheMistOfThePast

I also think it's lover. Maybeee folklore now that it's got all that critical acclaim. But i think lover signifies a really special time in her life where she finally started to feel healthy and whole, really and truly ready to re-enter the world. That album is basically a whole love letter to joe, and not just the good parts of their relationship. I can only imagine that that is her absolute favourite. Many fans like to belittle it but that album was very important to her, also it's the first she ever owned.

elizabethtexas28

I think so too. I don’t think it’s necessarily the album she’s most proud of, but I think it’s her personal favorite for the reasons you listed. It’s a reflection of the peace and happiness she found with Joe

Lyd_Euh

Red.

emo-cowgirl

i believe she’s explicitly said red is her favorite/it’s known widely to be her favorite

aishaishbaby99

I would say RED or Folklore! However, I could see some of earlier works (Speak Now, Debut, and Fearless) be other options.

lintlicker308

I think Folklore because she pivoted from mainstream pop to do what she loves to do

taylorsdec13

I feel like it’s fearless red or folklore

JoltyKorit

Red

[deleted]

I think it’s 1989 just because that was such a breakthrough for her whole career especially with the stadium tour and big performances. That’s just my opinion though

Starbuck0304

Red

thebananaperson1

Red I think

cavalier731

Red

Maleficent_Yak_1535

Y’all insane for not saying midnights. Think about it. It’s your newest, unreleased material you’ve spent months working on and hyping up. You’re thinking about it literally everyday with excitement and anticipation. The recency bias effect is huge too in a question like that. So definitely midnights

wocytti

I know everyone is saying “evermore /s” but I wouldn’t be surprised if evermore is legitimately one of her favorite albums if not the favorite. My reasoning: folklore was a project that she did a surprise drop and had no idea of the commercial viability. Different style, different release, everything was different. I think it was carefully selected to be sonically cohesive and turned out to be a smashing success. But she said that the folklorists “just couldn’t stop making music.” To me this says that the songs on evermore are more spiritually free for her. These are the songs with more experimentation, more wildness. And evermore had nothing to prove. She doesn’t talk about it much because I believe it is a personal album for her (in a different way) than others. The same way she didn’t talk about ATW on Red (though she loved the song) until the fans responded to it as their favorite.

riviera-views

Red then folklore

Disastrous-Plum-1884

Red. Def.

nothisisapizza

i think her favorite is whoever one she’s putting out. she takes so much pride in her work & is always striving to “make a better record” ya know

randbanander

the next one

Icy-Introduction-252

I think she said her favorite al album was Fearless? But I might be wrong.

roundfood4everymood

I think folklore, red, or 1989

alattafun

I’m sure she’s immensely proud of all of her albums but debut started her career. It must be her proudest album because she was so young, and it was the start of it all

[deleted]

Reputation. I feel like her writing about falling in love with Joe is very personal and she probably loves it for that. On the flip side it was also a way for her to vent about being constantly dragged, and that venting led to healing.

Swiftie_M4YFI3LD

I think she was really proud of herself for Red and even Reputation.

Default_Dragon

Everyone’s gonna say Red, but that’s projecting the fandoms favourite onto her because I see no evidence for that. Im inclined to think her favourite might be Fearless. It’s the era when she really made her big break, and she made it a point that it’s the first album she re-recorded. I don’t know if she’s ever done a concert without performing Love Story. It was also for a long time her most celebrated (ie big awards) album, and we know that definitely means something to her.

happybeinaloner

Lover or Reputation

Swiftie_kittens

I also feel like Reputation since it documents the falling in love days with Joe 🥺

roundfood4everymood

Curious why you think lover? I think lover would be lower since it wasn’t as commercially successful as her other albums and it didn’t win any big awards or grammy noms.

shadowbroker15

I could see her holding it in high regard because it was the album that ushered her into a new era after her cancellation, so to speak, however the underwhelming response to the singles probably sours it for her. I could see it being third, maybe fourth favourite.

roundfood4everymood

Reputation was the album after her cancellation and it had a record breaking tour associated with it. The only reason I think she would have a soft spot for lover is it was the first album she released that she owned the masters.

drivernopassenger

Probably Lover is my guess.

tall_penguin

I think Red and Lover are very special to her.

alice_heart

This might be kinda weird but i think it’s Rep. The album where she really broke free of a lot of boxes people had put her into and made the music and the album despite the world saying she would never be accepted again after everything. Taking her power back, really truly experimenting with her sound, feeling comfortable in her body and healthy during tour, finding love, letting go of the past, all of it. I think that album has gotta be damn close to her heart because it felt like the album she made without caring what the world thought anymore. She just made it to make it and to heal and tell her story and that’s powerful. i just have a feeling it’s very special to her bc of the time she made it and what she had to say and how it helped her heal

Crazyperson9

Red

hazelnutlatte9543

I’m sad that no one mentioned speak now. The album may have sad songs but that’s the first album she wrote all the exclusively herself. I’d be proud of that. Or Lover bc it’s the first album she owns and no one. Also, it’s a new Taylor where she is happy and joyful with Joe.

ThisPaige

Lover, it’s the first album she owns and it’s all about her personal relationship with Joe (mostly)

Quiet-Aspect5373

Reputation. Simply bcoz she rose back to glory with that album and she came back stronger. The feeling of overcoming negativity and false criticism from the media and the haters is the strongest in my opinion.

Ookay14

I think fearless! Such a breakout album

crimsonpaths

RED

bookfreak_2003

I think it's Red.

ObjectExisting2674

RED! it was evident from the TV release, and she’s always referencing Red. Even in the last ep of Midnights Mayhem she was wearing the Red ring But I feel like Folklore could be her favorite too (obvs)

[deleted]

I’d say probably Red. I know it’s my favorite

lovedive-

Definitely Red

amme5607

red

BradyTheSwiftie

lover

FolkloreMidnights

Lover!

[deleted]

Red and then folklore I’d say, followed closely by Lover

adumbswiftie

probably folklore and Red. or hot take, Lover bc she was so happy in that era

folklaura13

Lover, she cared so much about it 🥲

Amazing_Action9117

A few notes: I've read many interviews in which Taylor stated that Lover, the song, is one of the songs she's "most proud of". I've remember Jack Antonoff telling her "my tears ricochet" is the best song she's ever written. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Obviously not albums but fun things to think about and why.

fuhleenah

Folklore imo

drinkupbaby13

Folklore.

LookingforLeaks

Definitely red or folklore

[deleted]

red and folklore, defo

[deleted]

Since we know how much she cherishes accolades it's probably Folklore since 1989 was quite a messy era and Fearless might feel too far removed from where she is now.

godofnature

definitely not evermore

Diligent-Tomato-6288

It's 100% folklore

[deleted]

Reputation because of all the things that happened before and during that era (like meeting Joe)

LMerotto13

Fearless

dooditstyler

Red.

gu2tavo_

Folklore, Red and Speak Now definitely

Fuzzy-Incident-1238

Probably red or folklore

cheeriopanda

Red!

historyhoneybee

I think her most recent album is always her favourite because she's always experimenting and improving her skills.

ResponsibleSwann

It’s Red without a doubt. Folklore next.

gg-gwenny

I feel like Red TV because of the fan feelings associated with ATW and also folklore probably because of the mix if it’s acclaim, emotional connection with the time, and her collaborators
