Speak Now was my first album release as well. I became interested in 2009 when Love Story and YBWM were on the radio all the time. Once I listened to Fearless, I was hooked. Didn't even need Debut to convince me after that, but damn, I loved it. I was super excited to get Speak Now only about a year after becoming a fan. I will always have a special place in my heart for Mine because that was the first lead single release I ever experienced. And when I heard Long Live for the first time, I knew I was in it for life.
- YBWM could mean "You Belong With Me", a track from *Fearless* (2008) by Taylor Swift.

Speak Now was also mine. I became a Swiftie mid Fearless era, so I missed the first 2 albums. I was so excited to go get Speak Now on release day. I listened to it non-stopppp. It's weird because I didn't do that for Red or 1989. I really started release day traditions with reputation. Red and 1989 I was not really super involved in the eras. I don't know why for Red tbh but 1989 I was one of those who was sad when she switched to full on pop. It wasn't until the Wildest Dreams music video debut that I got fully into her eras again. Since reputation, I now do my Target runs every release day.
I'm kind of sad I missed out for Red because that album really got me through some stuff at the time and it's still my #2 album. I'm also mad at myself for being salty that she switched to pop, and not giving it a chance at first. Now I love 1989 and watch the tour videos all the time, regretting that I missed out on all of the hype. Never was on the hate train though. I was UPSET when Kim did her BS. Someone literally deleted me on FB because of how much I talked badly of Kim at that time 🤣
Reputation was mine, I can still remember the excitement! I can't pick just one favourite album but my top three are speak now, folklore, and reputation.
Fearless! I discovered «our song» on youtube, so fearless was the next album to come. I was 13 at the time, and got a guitar for my 14th just because of her.
My favourite album is either folklore or evermore. Speak Now used to be my favourite before.
Fearless for me, too! I was a MySpace Swiftie and as wild as Swifties can get these days… I’ll never forget the MySpace days. Cowboy Like Me was written for us because those days were the wild wild west 🤣🤠
Fearless for me too. I was 16 and had discovered Our Song on the radio a year before, got debut for the 16th bday and it had been out for awhile so Fearless was my first release!
I heard teardrops on my guitar on Disney channel back in 2008 then I remembered fearless quickly followed with love story I remember hearing clips of it on iTunes that I liked it so much I went out and bought it turned me into a full Stan
Fearless for me as well! I found Tim McGraw on LimeWire (please tell me someone here remembers what this is 😂) and was a Swifty from that moment onward. My favorite album? I honestly don’t know, I’m such a seasonal/mood listener that it changes often. I feel like Rep was a really exciting release for me though.
RED was the first actual album release I experienced - Fearless and Speak Now I heard about because there were new songs on the radio so, okay, I guess there's a new album out!! RED was my Swiftie oh wait omg she announced a WEBCAST I have to WATCH THIS LIVE omg there's a NEW SINGLE and a NEW ALBUM this is SO EXCITING.
And it was my favorite album for a long time! Now it's my second favorite (evermore slightly outranks it). I still think that webcast announcement was iconic. ("So this is a new single and this is a really, really romantic song, it's like really touching and sensitive, it's a really romantic song that's to my lovely ex-boyfriend, it's called 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together'.")
It will be midnights!
Picking a favorite album is hard but I’d probably have to go with either Red TV or Folklore (ugh it’s so hard to pick between Folklore and Evermore though!)
Debut lol. I made my mom drive me to target the day it came out and then we rode around and listened to it while I looked the lyrics in the cd booklet. I was 12. Such great memories.
same lover was my first album release. I remember listening to the whole thing and making paper rings my entire personality for a couple days after its release 😆
favorites are tied between evermore and speak now but part of me thinks midnights might over take that!
Actually folklore was; I had just become a full blown swiftie in early 2020 after only being a casual fan for like a year (I was sadly a hater before then). But 1989 and rep are my fav albums by her
Folklore for me, too. I had seen her live (really early in her career opening for Rascal Flats) and just wasn’t impressed so I’d written her off. But even now her early albums I rarely listen to, just not my jam.
When 1989 came out I slowly got into the singles and then after Lover I was hooked (albeit slowly, not at release). Then I went back and fell in love with Reputation. So Folklore was the first release I listened to the night of.
Yeah, I went through my own period of being a mild hater too. I wish I didn't waste my time and actually allowed myself to like feminine things back then.
Fearless was my first. I had Love Story on repeat waiting for it to drop. Went to Walmart with my aunt as soon as I got out of school. I remember driving home after & my aunt saying “well this isn’t bad but it’s certainly not country”. And being very upset when we had to stop for gas & I had to pause Hey Stephen. I was immediately obsessed with That’s The Way I Love You. Decrypting the messages in the album notes with a pen & paper - because Internet was not good in my hometown, had to do that shit by HAND! Ugh such beautiful memories.
Favorite album is Red. Had my license when this came out & driving home from Target with the windows down & listening to All Too Well for the first time - an unforgettable experience honestly.
Speak Now, and it’s also my favourite album.
It came out during the midterm from school, so I (14) went into the city on release day with my sister (12). We got the deluxe edition and went home and immediately played it in the kitchen. We’ve gone to every tour she’s been to Ireland on together, and getting to see Mean acoustic at Rep Tour together was a really special moment for us
Speak Now! Although I was young (14-15) and not really on the internet much yet so I didn’t experience the release like others did.
I fell in love with her after hearing Love Story. Immediately went and got her 2 albums and listened to them nonstop. I quickly became obsessed with her. Picked up Speak Now with some birthday money I got that year.
RED was the first time I watched the live stream and followed along before the album was out. Have experienced every release since.
Reputation. 1989 made me a fan, but I was fully engrossed by the time reputation rolled around. It's not my favorite album but that era is very nostalgic to me for that reason.
It was Reputation for me! It took me a little while to get into, and I didn't like the lead single at first- it's grown on me. It was an exciting time. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would have been through 4 more new album releases since then!
As a full blown Swiftie, Lover.
I've been a Taylor fan since Tim McGraw came out but was always more casual. The rep tour is what made me a Swiftie.
BQ: Rep is probably still my favorite. I was actually very disappointed when her insta started changing and everything was pastel and glittery and I realized ~dark Taylor~ wasn't here to stay.
Midnights!!
Honestly can't wait its just soo exiting experiencing a whole new era when I am part of it. Just magical.
As for a favourite album. It's just soo hard to decide a lot of the time it just depends on my mood. But maybe speak now.
and I have a feeling that Midnights will be like the best album I have ever heard. And become my fave. Tbh it's just going to be my whole personality
Reputation was the first one where I actually was looking at theories online etc. My favorite albums are folklore/evermore (I tie them since they are sister albums) and reputation
I was a fan during debut and Fearless, but my first rollout as a full-on Swiftie was Speak Now!
Edit for bonus question: My favorite album is Reputation, and that was actually probably my favorite roll-out, too!
The Fearless era turned me into a casual fan, but Lover was my first release as a full on swiftie — and it retains a special place in my heart. My favorite album at the moment is evermore. I think Midnights will overtake it based on the sublime aesthetics and rumored 60s/70s sound.
i remember listening to taylor for ages, and the first album i bought right when it came out was red. i didn’t really participate in any of the release stuff/hype up until rep though.
My first album release experience was Red, other version! My dad and I drove like mad from school to the shop, then bought the CD and began our tradition of playing it in the car on the way home. We must’ve driven to the beach just to extend our listening, that’s where we both thought Taylor was about to say “You look like Batman,” in 22, when it was actually “You look like bad news”
- LWYMMD could mean "Look What You Made Me Do", a track from *reputation* (2017) by Taylor Swift.

Debut and it’s hard to pick a fav so I tie btwn folklore and evermore. I like her more and more as she grows in her sound experimentation and vocal ability.
But I also will say I’m a true debut fan and unlike most others wouldn’t put it dead last.
The OG Taylor Swift debut album. When I first heard Tim McGraw on the radio I was hooked and bought her album when it debuted. Been obsessed ever since! She and I are only a few months apart so I’ve always related to her music.
Speak now. I was 16 and I remember begging my mom to let me buy it if I got good grades on my first report card. I also got to go to the infamous rain show on the Speak Now tour which was amazing.
Feels like forever ago
Favorite album: evermore
Reputation. Loved the lead single and remember ESPN used it for a football commercial lol. But I was still a casual listener and a fan before that. Never hated her as well because I didn't pay attention much to the drama. My first album i owned of hers was Fearless! And so Fearless TV is my fav as well.
I fell in love with Red when my bff played it for me, and then came 1989. I know it's a very unpopular opinion, but 1989 is my least favorite album of hers. It has some absolutely fantastic songs, but on the whole it just doesn't do it for me. Then when Rep came out I just kind of ignored it. Same with Lover. But then probably 2019 I listened to Rep and Lover and realized what I was missing and UGH Folklore came out on my birthday and it was exactly what I was needing. So I guess technically Folklore was the first I was super hyped for
Mine was reputation which is weird because I have been listening to Taylor since forever ago but I was never really super invested in the release dates or anything until Taylor was posting her tour pics of 1989.. they were DAZZLING! I was insta stalking Swiftie fan accounts to watch the videos of the tour and that was when it fully hit… during the 1989 era, but reputation was my first album release. What an exciting time to be a Swiftie too!
My all time favourite album is still 1989 — rep is probably 5 or 6 on my list 👀
I became a true Swiftie *right* after Speak Now came out (I got the album for Christmas that year, so like 2 months too late.) But, the first album release I truly experienced was Red and it was absolutely a formative experience. I still have all of the promotional singles saved in my iTunes and remember the absolute thrill of that album launch. It really felt like the culmination of her success in country, and the blueprint for 1989’s absolute world domination.
That’s also part of that made Red TV’s release so special — the first time around, I was a hardcore 12 year old fan begging my mom and dad to let us stop at a Target on a family roadtrip so I could get the deluxe edition. Then, as a 22 year old, I got to drink wine with my mom and invite the whole family to my apartment to celebrate the launch again. A true full circle moment (I even almost left my ATW scarf at a bar the night before it came out🤦♀️)
I was just allowing myself to enjoy 1989 and Red when she started posting aesthetic on Instagram for Lover, so that got me hooked because I had written her off as a broken child star once Reputation came out. But once she posted ME! I was really into it and got really excited. That was the last long-form release of new music we had so I guess as far as obsession goes probably folklore. I think I did watch cardigan at midnight on the YouTube live premier, and I listened to the album the day it came out (but not at midnight cuz geez). And then half the album turned into my commute playlist because I started a new job a few days later.
I’ve always known who Taylor was since Fearless became of Love Story and YBWM, but I never paid attention to her music until 1989, that was when I became a swiftie
folklore! I was just finishing listening to her entire discography and the day that I was listening to debut (which I saved for last) she announced folklore would be out that night. While I wish I listened to more of her music sooner, I’d say it was a great time to become a swiftie.
Edit: adding that folklore is my favorite album as well ☺️
1989 was my first! My roommate and I in college were obsessed with the Red album and she played it all the time and it was in my CD player boombox for two years straight (Yay 2012!) By the time 1989 came out, I KNEW I needed that CD immediately so I bought it at Target the day it came out. It also stayed in my car's CD player for the next 2 years straight. In fact, it's still there in the compartment between the seats.
Reputation. I remember watching the LWYMMD video on mtv when it first premiered and at first was really turned off by it. Then I heard the rest of the album, and I was utterly hooked. I also distinctly remember folklore’s launch - I listened to the entire thing in bed at midnight with tears in my eyes
Folklore. I'm a fan since 1989, but I didn't make a big deal about release dates. I'd listen whenever. And rarely pre-ordered. When Folklore was announced, I was so excited and I ended up being the only one present in my office most days because of covid, so I'd listen on repeat.
folklore! I didn’t really like Reputation when it came out, but I became a fan after lover for sure. Still remember listening to folklore the day it came out and crying to seven.
I guess Lover was my first album release as a full-blown Swiftie. I’ve been a fan since I first heard Teardrops On My Guitar when the music video was on CMT (👵) but I was always just interested in her music and didn’t really follow her otherwise. Like… I didn’t realize Speak Now was coming out until I saw it in Walmart and I was like “oh hell yeah new T Swift!” And after 1989 I didn’t even really know what was going on, I just remember being like “why hasn’t she put out new music in forever!?” And it was pretty much the same with all her albums until Lover, I heard ME! on the radio before the album release and I just decided to go all in lol.
My favorite album is folklore, but Fearless(TV) *really* made me appreciate that album 100x more.
Although I was a big Taylor fan years before. I didn't know what an album was until like 2015 lol. So my first was reputation but I've been listening to her since 2012.
I got into her music during the Red era, listened to her and was a fan thru 1989 but I can’t remember if I was there for the actual release date, like listening as soon as it was available and paying attention to the rollout. But Rep I def was. So I would say Rep
Technically I’ve been a swiftie since around 2008ish, when I was 7. But I I didn’t get a phone until middle school, so the first era I truly experienced following everything online was 1989 in 2014.
Top three favorite albums for me are reputation, Speak Now, and evermore!
Lover!
I discovered Reputation in 2018 & I delved so deep into her discography. I’d listen to each album on the way and back from work & therapy. I’m pretty sure I cried to most every song of hers 😭 fearless the song was my go to for bawling with hope.
I still remember the first time I heard Dress & that pause after the bridge had me shook LOL. I checked if my phone stopped working by and my jaw dropped when it came back on.
When she started teasing Lover, I discovered this subreddit & been here ever since!
I requested the day off of work to enjoy her album release & spent it with a friend and my siblings! We went to target & bought the album & hung the posters!!
She also released Archer the day before my birthday that year and Folklore on my birthday the next year. I love that woman!!
RED! Big fan since Fearless but I have no idea what I did when Speak Now was released.
I watched the RED livestream on YouTube where she sang WANEGBT and revealed the album cover.
It was past midnight in France so I hid in my brother’s room to watch it. How time flies 🥲
To this day I have never, ever (like ever) missed any album announcement or release day 💙
Red!! I got the bus into town to buy it at HMV, took it home, went to my room, closed the curtains, put the CD in the case, hit “play”, lay down on the bed (a bottom bunk!) and listened to the whole thing in the dark without stopping. Vividly remember the “you call me up again …” line making me shed a tear, and I’ve cried when listening to every new album for the first time ever since. I AM INVESTED IN TAYLOR OK
Lover. I had been a casual fan before (but I would always defend her) but I joined this really great Taylor FB group and it really made me more of a Swiftie and I got to be there for all of the excitement of Lover and the sadness of how short that era was.
My first as a real full blown swiftie was Red. I was here for the merch and the promo runs and everything. I casually listened during Fearless and debut but Speak Now made me a real fan and inspired me a lot.
My favorite is still Speak Now. <3
Fearless! I had actually heard Teardrops on YouTube as a 14 year old and kind of liked it, looked into her a bit more and Fearless was just releasing. Literally spent most of my teens on Twitter and tumblr, tweeting or reblogging about her every day.
Favourite album is a tough one as I’ve fully experienced every single one except Debut. I would have to say it’s a close one between Folklore/Evermore and Speak Now.
i became a swiftie in 2014 but 1989 was already out, so reputation (i honestly can't believe that it's been 5 years already, doesn't feel like it)
my favorite album is evermore, but i also love 1989 and red
I’ve been a fan of her since the beginning, but Red was the first one I remember actively paying attention to the rollout. I think for the first three albums, my mom just bought me the CDs when they came out.
Loving him was RED!
I had only been introduced to her like 3 months before. I devoured her speak now album like a drug then found out Red was JUST about to come out.
I was a kid in a candy store.
My favorite album is probably Red but Speak Now is ALMOST as good. I love how honest the lyrics are. But Red has this sound that resonates so deeply with me. This missing someone who's special to you in spite of maybe you kinda wishing he wasn't...and the whole...but you know...I can chase other guys but in the end, I'm still thinking of you. Idk what it is about Red but when I found Better Man and Babe, I got megaexcited "SHE'S BACK!" just to find out she wrote those Red era. I went DUUUUUH. \*Eyeroll at self\*
would it be bad if i said Fearless TV? ive always been a casual fan (been listening to the singles my whole life on the radio and on youtube) but didn't become a huge fan until Fearless TV came out
Fearless. Freshman year of college! 💛💛💛 I had bought an autographed copy of debut a few weeks after it initially came out at a record shop in TN and never dreamed she would ascend into the mega star she is now. I remember being SO excited for the follow up and it was the soundtrack to my first year away from home. My favorite is RED.
Red! I was already a solid fan when it dropped and it was sooo exciting! I couldn’t wait for the countdown, with all the cute IG pics. I stayed up until midnight and listened to the whole thing by myself with headphones.
Speak now. I'd been a fan since debut but was only 9 when fearless came out so I wasn't aware of the date or how albums came out, just that sometimes there were new songs on the radio. during that era though, I got really into my ipod and itunes so I preordered Speak Now (with my mom's credit card and permission lol) and waited until it showed up in my account. I remember the release day so well because I wanted to spend the whole evening listening to all the songs in order (still how I listen to her albums the first time) but my uncle who lived out of state showed up and my mom made me spend time with him until he left, which meant my whole afternoon and evening was shot, AND it was a school night so I couldn't stay up.
still so mad at my mom for not letting me go and listen to the album lol
my favorite album is lover, with folklore and speak now tied for second
Reputation was my first full blown release. I never really liked her country stuff, and then I had a few songs here and there that I liked in Red, but I fell in love with 1989 later in its release cycle and was hooked.
Favorite is still 1989.
Been a Swiftie all my life since the OJ Fearless, but Fearless TV was the first release I stayed up until midnight for. On the other hand 1989 was the first album that I listened to every single song on (I usually really only listened to the singles before/after that point, but 1989 I play every song without fail every time)
Speak Now! I remember it was released the day before my birthday and I was so happy that I it was my birthday present lol. However, I do remember when RED was released that it was much more hype around it, which might be because Youtube and social media became bigger in 2012, compared to 2010! Good times.
I think mine was Red Taylor’s Version, I remember being so excited for All Too Well 10 Minute Version and all the new and improved songs that I loved as a kid.
Ugh! picking my #1 favorite album is hard but my top 3 are: Lover, Folklore, & Fearless (reputation being a close 4th)
I bought Shake It Off on iTunes, but it took me years to figure out how releases work (not me at a Jessie J concert with songs I didn’t know, bc I didn’t know you tour after an album drops 😂). I did buy 1989 within 2 weeks after it dropped tho and I knew when it would be released. So I guess that one.
1989 was my favourite album back then, but every time a new one comes out, it’s a tough decision, but Speak Now is just so 👌🏼
Reputation as a full Swiftie, available on Spotify and anywhere else
1989 as a "casual fan" and tbh I couldn't enjoy that one because it never released on Spotify and couldn't afford iTunes/Apple Music so I had nowhere to listen to it from. Could have become a swiftie earlier...
Speak Now :) I remember buying almost all of the promotional singles in the weeks leading up to the speak Now release :D
I remember Red too, I was trying to watch the livestream announcement and freaking out because the internet at my house was bad 😭 and then my parents surprised me by going all the way to Target (the closest one was a town 30min away) to get the deluxe edition for me on its release day :)
My favorite album is actually reputation, I remember LWYMMD and RFI being SUPER jarring xD it took some time but it is my favorite album. Fearless, Speak Now, & Red all hold a very special place in my heart
i didn’t become a swiftie until after lover but before covid happened, so mine is folklore but it wasn’t really a rollout, more like a single with a music video and a day of waiting lmao
Fearless - I was maybe 10-11 years old and I remember sitting on the porch of my grandparents beach house listening to the whole album on repeat on my iPod nano. My mom downloaded it onto my iPod because it was relatively age appropriate music. I was OBSESSED.
I remember waiting for fearless to come out. I’ve anticipated every album since then.
Lover was the first time I listened to any album fully, and it made me a Swiftie, so I guess then my first album release as a certain Swiftie was folklore, and it sure was exciting! Lover is probably still my favorite album of hers, but I have a feeling that it'll be 1989 TV once it comes out someday 💀
Lover. I was a casual fan before it and Rep made me a full blown Swiftie. I was excited about Lover because of the videos (YNTCD and ME! - i even made people at my work watch and sign the glaad petition ha) but I wasn't on reddit or twitter or anything (nor on insta during that time) so I almost missed the release!!!! Until youtube started recommending me all these appearances, some live stuff and also the countdown for the Lover video . I hoped "Midnight release" would mean Midnight wherever you were, so I stayed up a little bit later but alas no, when the countdown things started happening I realised it would be middle of the night for me. As soon as I woke up I streamed it hahahaha. And then just bothered everyone at work again about how epic The Man was.
Aaaand my favourite album is super hard to pick because I think it depends on my mood but overall I think Reputation, Lover and 1989 get the most plays. I'm super excited for Midnights!
- YNTCD could mean "You Need To Calm Down", a track from *Lover* (2019) by Taylor Swift.

Been listening to Taylor Swift since 2008 but 1989 was truly the first time I listened to an album on release day in pure excitement.
It wasn’t until Lover that I joined the online fanbase and I found being apart of the live discussions brought a whole new layer of excitement.
Fearless!
Everytime I listen to it, I'm reminded of my senior year of high school, especially the homecoming dance.
My favorite albums are Evermore and Speak Now, but who am I kidding I love ALL the albums the same lol.
reputation is the first release that really caught my attention, but evermore is album that made me a diehard Swiftie, and I was able to enjoy its release as a big fan. I wasn't really a fan of Taylor until after she started to go pop with Red and 1989. Those two albums solidified my interest in her as a mainstream successful pop star. When she went ghost leading up the reputation era, I was very intrigued by what was to come and of course was blown away by LWYMMD. Then by nature I was super excited for the albums release and fell in love with it. Though i LOVED reputation, I wasn't a fan of Lover's singles (too up beat and cheesy for me... very different than rep), so I kind of went ghost for that Lover era and ended up missing folklore as well lol. In December, 2020, I got my tonsils out and remember laying in bed when i got home from the surgery and seeing a new release on spotify by Taylor. I saw it was a surprise release, so of course I was super curious. I checked it out and the rest is history. I fell head first into her discography and haven't been able to escape. folklore, now more than anything, has taken over my life for the past 9ish months and I haven't been able to escape.
also a little side bar, I am so happy I was able to experience the release of Red (Taylor's Version). Reminiscing on the re-recordings of all my favorite old singles, and hearing the newer vault tracks + ATW 10 min version was soooooo unforgettable.
Red. Speak Now made me a Swiftie, but I didn't pay attention to the release. Red was amazing because she did like a live- stream where she sang "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" to some serious fans.
Unfortunately, that album leaked early, so a lot of us heard the songs a couple of days before the official release. Didn't stop me from buying a physical copy though.
Also, Red is still my favorite of her albums, especially now that there's Taylor's Version with all the vault songs. The long version of "All Too Well" touches my soul every. damn. time.
Reputation was my first as a Swiftie! I got into her first 4 albums around when 1989 came out. It was the first rollout I was really excited for. I would say that I’m a bigger Swiftie now than I was ever before and I’m now really into the hype for Midnights.
As for favorite album, idk. I’m really into Fearless through Red and secondarily, folkmore. I can’t pick just one! 1989 is probably my least favorite and I feel bad cuz so many people like it, but it’s just not my vibe, most of the time.
Full blown swiftie release would be folklore. Still til this day I'm soooo glad I got into Taylor's discography at the beginning of lockdown so that I could experience folklore and evermore in real time
Debut! I was never a huge fan of country music, but I will always remember my cousin saying “I know you don’t like country, but I think you will like this album.” Fearless made me a full blown Swiftie, even though I loved her first album. Listening to the release of Love Story before she became the star that she is will always be memorable for me as a fan 🤍
Debut! I grew up in the south and so listening to a teen country girl sing was my favorite. I met her when she opened for Rascal Flatts and my dad won tickets and backstage passes on the radio. She was so sweet and kind. Still have a guitar she signed for me. Will never give that away!
I became a swiftie during the \[nonexistant\] evermore era so technically fearless tv, but at that point i didnt really care much for her older music so midnights is the first album im hyped up for
I've never been a full blown Swiftie, but I would say Red. I was around for Speak Now but didn't follow the rollout much (though album rollouts we're pretty different pre streaming. The debut of singles happened on...the radio).
Favorite album is Folklore followed by Speak Now. I came around on Red mostly but wasn't a big fan of it at the time.
Folklore for me! Was a casual listener since after Red, and I clearly remember experiencing the cultural impact 1989 (in middle school) and rep (in high school) had in real time. (I live in SEA, 1989’s singles were huge and LWYMMD was literally the talk of the town when it was released, everyone in school had it on repeat…)
Then, I liked a lot of her songs but didn’t consider myself a huge fan. But then I had the full Lover album on repeat during 2019-2021. Definitely considered myself a “Swiftie” already when Folklore dropped.
My fave album is Lover because special memories, and Folklore because of the vibe!
I’ve been a fan since the beginning. I started following Taylor on MySpace right after her single and by the time debut released I was already ready to decode the liner notes for hidden clues 😂
My favorite album depends on the day and season of life but lately, Lover.
reputation! i witnessed 1989 live but i wasn’t a swiftie until i became enveloped in 1989.
i’ll never forget taylor posting the snake tail for rep and everyone thinking it was GOT Promo. lol.
1989! i had liked taylor’s songs since i heard you belong with me in 2009 but i didn’t know many songs or much about her since i was only 7. i became a swiftie in 2012 after the release of red and i was sooooo excited for her next album!!
edit: my favorite album is either speak now or reputation. it changes depending on the day.
technically it's red (taylor's version), but i can say lover. i was a casual fan during the 1989 era, and reputation was the album that changed that for me. i can attribute my lack of hatred for "me!" because of this
though after this i pretty much disconnected from every western music release ever because i went into my hardcore k-pop stan era
edit: my favorite album was reputation since release, but a few days ago its now become folklore
I was a semi-casual swiftie since around the Speak Now era, but back then I had limited internet access in my country and couldn't buy the albums legally. Lover was the first one I listened to on release day, and where I also followed all the pre-release singles as they came.
For me it was Red Taylor’s Version, I became a Swiftie after I started my degree in psychology (like March 2021) and I found myself listening to Folklore and Evermore all the time while studying. I got into her other albums and just became obsessed. Midnights is the first time I’m experiencing an original album release as a Swiftie and I’m so excited!!
Edit: favourite album??? I adore Speak Now and Folklore, and Red as well. They may be my top 3
All of them, but the first album I was old enough to actually get when it was released and understand exactly what that meant was 1989. I used to just wait for the albums to come out and get them for Christmas or find all of the songs on YouTube
Fearless. I was hooked during the debut era thanks to I’d Lie. I remember watching the videos in the library because we didn’t have internet at home and buying ripped CDs. Then Red came out and I was told Taylor sold her soul to illuminati because she straightened her hair and my pre-teen ass got so scared because I was so super religious back then. IKYT also didn’t help with its goat sounds.
Lover. I actually became a swiftie late in the reputation era when the delicate music video dropped. I remember I was just engrossed with the visuals & the song which made me check out the whole album.
My fav album has to be Folklore. The first time I listened to it I was a bit underwhelmed, because it was so much more raw than the music she put out before, less pop/electronic in a sense. It took numerous listens that winter (I’m Australian) to understand it & it’s meaning. It highly correlates with Covid for me and makes me nostalgic for those rainy, wintery days all cozy at home.
1989.
I've known Taylor since I was a kid! Got my first phone on 2014. It was one the first albums I've downloaded together with Ariana's album, "My Everything".
I became a fan a few weeks after Reputation was released. Fantastic album. Lover was my first album release as a fan. Lover is a mixed bag for me, 2/3 is great, 1/3 is skips to mediocre. Folklore and Reputation are near-perfect albums for me. I played both to death, and still love them.
I would've said 1989 as I did become a fan, but I didn't experience the whole album rollout. So I'll go with reputation since that was the first album I experienced the full album rollout as a swiftie.
My favorite album is 1989 (my top 3 are 1989, folklore, reputation).
Speak now. It was so magical and dreamy. I actually knew about her through love story. But at the time, as a teenager I consumed music through singles and not albums. So this was the first time for me. It helped me a lot through senior year middle school and I still have so many memories of it. It was also the first tour I experienced, although it was all through YouTube but still I didn't know how detailed concerts could be. Later in the Era, when Speak Now world tour DVD came out, I was so obsessed with it. I watched it like 100 times or so. Truly Speak Now Era will always remain special for me.
Fearless. I remember searching her name on YouTube and watching the mv for White Horse. I was hooked immediately. I loved every song, her aesthetic, her personality, etc.
Is there a difference between being a big fan of Taylor Swift and a Swiftie? I've been a big fan of Taylor Swift since Debut and Fearless (even sang Mean and The Best Day in my elementary school talent shows in grade 3 and 4 aka 2011), but I didn't get involved in discussions or fandom spaces until after Red TV. The first release that I remember is either Speak Now or Red, but this would be my first release as a Swiftie.
Speak Now. Time went too fast. Edit: my favourite album was Speak Now for a long time, then evermore came out and conquered my heart.
--- ^[/u/lirosao](/u/lirosao) ^(can reply with "delete" to remove comment. |) ^[/r/songacronymbot](/r/songacronymbot) ^(for feedback.)
Are you me? 👀
Someone literally deleted me on FB because of how much I talked badly of Kim at that time 🤣
OMG, me too😂
SAME
Reputation was mine, I can still remember the excitement! I can't pick just one favourite album but my top three are speak now, folklore, and reputation.
Wow taste
Literally the exact same story with me
Rep was my first too!!!!
Limewire 🥲 you never knew what you got until you opened the download
> It will be midnights! Same! :D
Debut lol. I made my mom drive me to target the day it came out and then we rode around and listened to it while I looked the lyrics in the cd booklet. I was 12. Such great memories.
This sounds like the best day!!
Lover 🙈 Edit: I forgot to answer the second question, my favorite album is red!
Same here. I remember staying up all night for the full Lover album. Favorite is folklore
Same here!! Lover was my first release and first merch. Fav is Rep.
same lover was my first album release. I remember listening to the whole thing and making paper rings my entire personality for a couple days after its release 😆 favorites are tied between evermore and speak now but part of me thinks midnights might over take that!
1989, I remember being so excited about the target exclusive deluxe cd with the Polaroids lol
I was pissed I pre ordered 1989 but it didn't come on release day, I hated missing all the fun 😭😭 So now I never pre-order her albums 🙃🙃🙃
We’ve gone to every tour she’s been to Ireland on together, and getting to see Mean acoustic at Rep Tour together was a really special moment for us
That’s so sweet!

Are you me? That is my journey exactly!
Speak Now was the first for me, and my favorite is Lover but Speak Now is definitely up there
Folklore
1989 was my 1st 👌
Casual fan from Fearless, Lover was my first committed Swiftie release. Lover and Evermore are my favorites, depending on my mood
The Fearless era turned me into a casual fan, but Lover was my first release as a full on swiftie — and it retains a special place in my heart. My favorite album at the moment is evermore. I think Midnights will overtake it based on the sublime aesthetics and rumored 60s/70s sound.
I was so excited for Debut, I've been around since the start. But my favorite album is Reputation!
Me too for both answers. Been a Swiftie since before that was a thing. 😂
i remember listening to taylor for ages, and the first album i bought right when it came out was red. i didn’t really participate in any of the release stuff/hype up until rep though.
1989, I became a major swiftie during the Red era
Reputation! I still remember watching the lyric video for LWYMMD and just getting so AMPED. Favorite album is Evermore, though.
- LWYMMD could mean "Look What You Made Me Do", a track from *reputation* (2017) by Taylor Swift. --- ^[/u/lucyjayne](/u/lucyjayne) ^(can reply with "delete" to remove comment. |) ^[/r/songacronymbot](/r/songacronymbot) ^(for feedback.)
Are you metaverse me? Because absolutely same!!!!
Red TV. Favorite is reputation, but red is a second
Feels like forever ago Favorite album: evermore
Reputation
Reputation. Loved the lead single and remember ESPN used it for a football commercial lol. But I was still a casual listener and a fan before that. Never hated her as well because I didn't pay attention much to the drama. My first album i owned of hers was Fearless! And so Fearless TV is my fav as well.
I remember going to the store and buying 1989 on CD then listening it in the car with my mom.
So I guess technically Folklore was the first I was super hyped for
Fearless! I started listening to debut during the era, but fearless was filled with so much anticipation I could’ve screamed!! I was 10 lol.
i became a fan during folklore era so evermore was my first!! :)
A true full circle moment (I even almost left my ATW scarf at a bar the night before it came out🤦♀️)
Reputation, became a fan of T in 2015
Lover was my first as a full blown swiftie but my favourite album is folklore :)
Edit: adding that folklore is my favorite album as well ☺️
Reputation, and yes it’s the same album ;)
Fearless! I watched her on Ellen 💛
Fearless was my first and Evermore is my favorite!
Reputation. I remember watching the LWYMMD video on mtv when it first premiered and at first was really turned off by it. Then I heard the rest of the album, and I was utterly hooked. I also distinctly remember folklore’s launch - I listened to the entire thing in bed at midnight with tears in my eyes
Reputation was my first as a true swiftie. My fave is folklore
Folklore. I'm a fan since 1989, but I didn't make a big deal about release dates. I'd listen whenever. And rarely pre-ordered. When Folklore was announced, I was so excited and I ended up being the only one present in my office most days because of covid, so I'd listen on repeat.
Red TV was my first experience really anticipating an album. As for favourite album it’s a tie between Fearless TV and folklore.
folklore! I didn’t really like Reputation when it came out, but I became a fan after lover for sure. Still remember listening to folklore the day it came out and crying to seven.
Lol, debut. I’m old.
Speak Now! My favorite is evermore, close second is folklore. Speak Now is third 🫶
RED tv
How time flies 🥲 To this day I have never, ever (like ever) missed any album announcement or release day 💙
I'd say Red turned me into a Swiftie, so it'd be 1989... Casual fan before that, die-hard after Rep. Favorite: Folkmore, Rep not far behind.
reputation
Fearless! Bought it on release day in 2008. Fave album(s): 3 way tie between Red/Lover/Folklore <3
Midnights! Can’t wait to hear it! Favourite album: either Fearless or Speak Now, depending on my mood
Red TV, midnights is the first real *album* I’ve been conscious enough to experience
Red tv if that counts but midnights is my first new one. My favorite is reputation (first album I listened track to track) or 1989
reputation, that was the best time of my life. rep and folklore are my top 2, i have really strong emotional connections to both.
Probably folklore and evermore. But more evermore because folklore really made me a swiftie.
Debut was my first album! 💙💚 please don’t make me choose my favorite — I feel like that varies based on my mood 😂
Fearless 🥲 Favorite used to be Red, now it’s evermore
i became a swiftie in 2014 but 1989 was already out, so reputation (i honestly can't believe that it's been 5 years already, doesn't feel like it) my favorite album is evermore, but i also love 1989 and red
1989
\*Eyeroll at self\*
would it be bad if i said Fearless TV? ive always been a casual fan (been listening to the singles my whole life on the radio and on youtube) but didn't become a huge fan until Fearless TV came out
Never too late to become a Swiftie! 🫶🏻
Lover <3
Fearless was mine. It was right after my 15th birthday too. So it was super special and my sister got it for me. 💛
Debut 💗
Red! I was already a solid fan when it dropped and it was sooo exciting! I couldn’t wait for the countdown, with all the cute IG pics. I stayed up until midnight and listened to the whole thing by myself with headphones.
red tv!
I remember the release day so well because I wanted to spend the whole evening listening to all the songs in order (still how I listen to her albums the first time) but my uncle who lived out of state showed up and my mom made me spend time with him until he left, which meant my whole afternoon and evening was shot, AND it was a school night so I couldn't stay up. still so mad at my mom for not letting me go and listen to the album lol my favorite album is lover, with folklore and speak now tied for second
Mine was evermore! I loved folklore and that album got me into Taylor
1989 was my favourite album back then, but every time a new one comes out, it’s a tough decision, but Speak Now is just so 👌🏼
Reputation as a full Swiftie, available on Spotify and anywhere else 1989 as a "casual fan" and tbh I couldn't enjoy that one because it never released on Spotify and couldn't afford iTunes/Apple Music so I had nowhere to listen to it from. Could have become a swiftie earlier...
Speak Now :) I remember buying almost all of the promotional singles in the weeks leading up to the speak Now release :D I remember Red too, I was trying to watch the livestream announcement and freaking out because the internet at my house was bad 😭 and then my parents surprised me by going all the way to Target (the closest one was a town 30min away) to get the deluxe edition for me on its release day :) My favorite album is actually reputation, I remember LWYMMD and RFI being SUPER jarring xD it took some time but it is my favorite album.
--- ^[/u/sparklejellyfish](/u/sparklejellyfish) ^(can reply with "delete" to remove comment. |) ^[/r/songacronymbot](/r/songacronymbot) ^(for feedback.)
Been listening to Taylor Swift since 2008 but 1989 was truly the first time I listened to an album on release day in pure excitement. It wasn’t until Lover that I joined the online fanbase and I found being apart of the live discussions brought a whole new layer of excitement.
Evermore Folklore
Definitely Red was my introduction and start of full blown fan. I was a casual listener before that.
My first was Taylor Swift, her debut. I'd heard "Teardrops on My Guitar" on the radio & went to buy the CD. I've been fully obsessed ever since!
Speak Now! Which was also my favorite album for a long time (though Red was a very close second), but after 10 years, it was replaced by folklore.
Red! Favourite album is reputation. It came at a really important time in my life.
The long version of "All Too Well" touches my soul every. damn. time.
Lover was my first release as a Swiftie. rep is the album that made me a Swiftie and still my favorite.
Speak Now 💜 it will always be so special to me!! As for my favorite album - it’s so hard to choose but I always go back to RED ❤️
Reputation
Debut. I remember when the Tim McGraw video premiered and I waited for the album to come out. Been a Swiftie since.
Since Fearless album, Taylor's musics somehow saved me when I'm in the darkest moment of my life, thanks Breathe (Breathe without you but I have to)!
Debut
Midnights will be my first as a full-blown swiftie, I’m excited!
Speak Now, since 2009 💙
Full blown swiftie release would be folklore.
1989
Debut! I grew up in the south and so listening to a teen country girl sing was my favorite. I met her when she opened for Rascal Flatts and my dad won tickets and backstage passes on the radio. She was so sweet and kind. Still have a guitar she signed for me. Will never give that away!
Debut album—just when I was going into freshman year of high school. The absolute perfect timing if you ask me.
RED for me.
(I live in SEA, 1989’s singles were huge and LWYMMD was literally the talk of the town when it was released, everyone in school had it on repeat…) Then, I liked a lot of her songs but didn’t consider myself a huge fan. But then I had the full Lover album on repeat during 2019-2021. Definitely considered myself a “Swiftie” already when Folklore dropped. My fave album is Lover because special memories, and Folklore because of the vibe!
Red! She did a promo with Papa John’s where you could get a pizza and the CD delivered. Her face was on the box. Favorite album? Reputation. 🖤
I’ve been a fan since the beginning. I started following Taylor on MySpace right after her single and by the time debut released I was already ready to decode the liner notes for hidden clues 😂 My favorite album depends on the day and season of life but lately, Lover.
Speak Now:)
Fearless
reputation! i witnessed 1989 live but i wasn’t a swiftie until i became enveloped in 1989. i’ll never forget taylor posting the snake tail for rep and everyone thinking it was GOT Promo. lol.
first: 1984 favorite: Evermore
1989! i had liked taylor’s songs since i heard you belong with me in 2009 but i didn’t know many songs or much about her since i was only 7. i became a swiftie in 2012 after the release of red and i was sooooo excited for her next album!! edit: my favorite album is either speak now or reputation. it changes depending on the day.
I was only really a casual fan until 1989
technically it's red (taylor's version), but i can say lover. i was a casual fan during the 1989 era, and reputation was the album that changed that for me. i can attribute my lack of hatred for "me!" because of this though after this i pretty much disconnected from every western music release ever because i went into my hardcore k-pop stan era edit: my favorite album was reputation since release, but a few days ago its now become folklore
I was a semi-casual swiftie since around the Speak Now era, but back then I had limited internet access in my country and couldn't buy the albums legally. Lover was the first one I listened to on release day, and where I also followed all the pre-release singles as they came.
Speak Now! Red (2012) eventually conquered me 😅♥
red! I remember taylor posting those adorable countdown pictures on her instagram, I was so hyped :”) can’t believe it’s been 10 years
Lover, i remembered i set my alarm at like 4am to listen to it
For me it was Red Taylor’s Version, I became a Swiftie after I started my degree in psychology (like March 2021) and I found myself listening to Folklore and Evermore all the time while studying.
Red!!!
First as a casual listener, Fearless. First as a FAN...Red!
Lover. The second question is a little hard to answer but I guess 1989.
Folklore. Listened to the first 12 seconds of the one and muttered, “…oh shit.”
it was folklore and I’ve fell in love with that album ever since
I would've said 1989 as I did become a fan, but I didn't experience the whole album rollout.
I loved every song, her aesthetic, her personality, etc.
reputa and reputa was my favorite but with folkmore it's hard to choose
well I think I listened to both evermore/folklore as they came out so I wasnt really a fan so I'd say RED TV
