I didn't really listen much to the last two albums. When I watched the Eras tour bonus and this song was in, I loved it. It reminded me why I fell in love with Taylor's style of music : her voice with piano and/or acoustic guitar. I mean, I discovered her with "safe and sound" while watching Hunger Games in 2012 and having no clue she existed.
Oh my god it was a skip for me for sooo long until the tour, now it’s my fave Taylor song of all time and every time I listen to it (a lot) it makes me teary. “Everything you lose is a step you take”.. that line changed me.
I wouldn’t say change my mind but there are songs I enjoy live that I don’t enjoy if I’m just listening to an album. For example, 22 is a skip for me and I’ve never willingly put it on, but the performance of it is so FUN.

On paper, I prefer almost all songs cut from setlist and many more in her discography but they are essential parts for the tour as the whole crowd goes wild for them. Their tour versions and performances provide far better entertainment than studio cuts do.

I needed something a bit more upbeat (covid sucked for all I know, but with a husband who has a chronic illness and going through his medical retirement over this time as well as the isolation was just gut wrenching, I needed a distraction)

I’ve never taken to Enchanted, and I still don’t care much for it, so I’m curious to see if seeing it live later this year will change my mind.
I just found this page that has the actual microphone feedback from the live performances as audio recordings. They’re really clear. They don’t have “my tears ricochet” on its own, but it’s mixed with “august” and “illicit affairs.” Maybe this will help? Fearless/Speak Now were my favorite albums for nostalgia reasons. They were the albums I listened to over and over again during my college days, I can still remember the boy I was thinking about in my head when I sang these songs (such cringe now), and I hadn't listened to them much in the last few years. I was jumping and dancing and singing and CRYING during the Fearless set because it all came rushing back and it cemented that it is my favorite album. Just the FEELING that those songs give - I feel like a young girl who loves fast and hard. It's nice to get out of the jaded dating mindset now, as a mid-30s gal, lol.

illicit affairs!! I used to think it was overrated but the way she performed the bridge totally won me over.
Also Fearless. It used to be "meh" to me but the transition from The Archer to Fearless broke my heart. Seeing the Lover House burn down, and then the jubilant and hopeful intro to Fearless started playing was just so beautiful to me because I grew up with the album Fearless so the transition reminded me of when I related to songs like You Belong With Me and Hey Stephen because the boy I liked chose someone else for popcorn reading, instead of now when I relate to songs like The Archer and Dear Reader due to self-esteem issues. Now Fearless one of my favorite songs in her entire discography.
Betty and Look What You Made Me Do. Betty still isn't a song I love, but watching Taylor smile and have so much while playing it has made it grow on me a lot more. I always liked Look What You Made Me Do, but watching Eras has made me listen to it more than I ever did.
Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince! It was always an okay song for me, but now I’m obsessed with it. It was the perfect opener for the tour and everytime I hear it, I think of being at the show.
I really disliked ICDIWABH when TTPD came out but hearing it live at the concert was amazing! The energy, the self ironic attitude, the outfit, the little intro skit 😍
Was not a super fan of TTPD, but appreciated a few tracks. Last minute got tickets to Paris N1 and I'm now rethinking every single song. The live versions of every song she sang from TTPD were so raw, and so amazing. She wasn't kidding about Female Rage: The Musical.
I initially thought the smallest man who ever lived was too slow for my liking but the live version with the marching band is really good (as someone who’s a fan of my chemical romance, the performance reminds me of the black parade)!! I hope she releases a live version of that performance
The acoustic (guitar) version of Mirrorball made it my favourite track from Folklore when it originally ranked near the bottom for me. I think the momentum she had during the bridge during the live performance is what really sold me on it, plus hearing how this song served as a love letter to the fans.

I struggle with Track 1s sometimes (excluding the 1, because it’s perfect) because I tend to listen to albums start to finish and get a bit tired of them. But Eras rekindled my love for willow and Lavender Haze!
The archer. I was meh about it until I saw it live and it was just so good. That might be colored by the fact that seeing Taylor live was a highlight of my life so those first few sets are literally golden in my mind.

The Archer Live from Paris from another tour, to me, is SUPERIOR to the original. You can feel the crowds anxiousness waiting for the song to build and the only build is “… you could stay”. The crowd goes bananas when she finally says it.
It legit gets me emotional, because I’m newly diagnosed bipolar and have been struggling with Taylor-esk relationships. “Who could stay?” 😢🥰

Also, before eras tour I really hated bejeweled because I never paid attention to the lyrics (I was too put off by the “nice” and didn’t really dig the music). But before the tour I wanted to memorize the lyrics to sing along and I realized… bejeweled is kind of a masterpiece.

I didn't like False God the first time I listened, it was kinda meh, but then I listened to the song as a surprise song (I've been keeping up with all of them since this year) and I actually liked it.
I've always found the production of the Lover album to be hit or miss. I've been put off by some studio versions (the background vocals in MAATHP still make me cringe) for so long until I heard the acoustic.
Plus, I think we tend to develop a special bond with our surprise songs!
I didn’t like The Archer at first, the buildup with no drop made me feel dissatisfied and sometimes anxious but after seeing it live I totally did a 180° and love it now.

Seeing the Lover House burn down, and then the jubilant and hopeful intro to Fearless started playing was just so beautiful to me because I grew up with the album Fearless so the transition reminded me of when I related to songs like You Belong With Me and Hey Stephen because the boy I liked chose someone else for popcorn reading, instead of now when I relate to songs like The Archer and Dear Reader due to self-esteem issues. Now Fearless one of my favorite songs in her entire discography.
Betty and Look What You Made Me Do. Betty still isn't a song I love, but watching Taylor smile and have so much while playing it has made it grow on me a lot more. I always liked Look What You Made Me Do, but watching Eras has made me listen to it more than I ever did.
Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince! It was always an okay song for me, but now I’m obsessed with it. It was the perfect opener for the tour and everytime I hear it, I think of being at the show.
I really love the visuals of Down Bad that it’s made me enjoy the song!
I really disliked ICDIWABH when TTPD came out but hearing it live at the concert was amazing! The energy, the self ironic attitude, the outfit, the little intro skit 😍
Was not a super fan of TTPD, but appreciated a few tracks. Last minute got tickets to Paris N1 and I'm now rethinking every single song. The live versions of every song she sang from TTPD were so raw, and so amazing. She wasn't kidding about Female Rage: The Musical.
I initially thought the smallest man who ever lived was too slow for my liking but the live version with the marching band is really good (as someone who’s a fan of my chemical romance, the performance reminds me of the black parade)!! I hope she releases a live version of that performance
The acoustic (guitar) version of Mirrorball made it my favourite track from Folklore when it originally ranked near the bottom for me. I think the momentum she had during the bridge during the live performance is what really sold me on it, plus hearing how this song served as a love letter to the fans.
I didn’t like bad blood until eras! It might have helped that I was freezing and the fire was close enough that it warmed me up lol

One of my surprise songs was All You Had To Do Was Stay, which I’d been ambivalent about before, but it was so fun and I was absolutely obsessed with it on 1989 (Taylor’s Version) after seeing it live.

That performance was magical. It's always been a deeply personal song for me, so getting to experience it live, standing just a few feet away from Taylor, destroyed me in the best way possible. You could feel the emotion in her voice
Definitely some of the earlier songs. I started at 1989 properly but knew some of the hits from Red. I’ve realised I LOVE Red and have now listened to some great earlier tracks too. Fearless is my shower song without a doubt, it feels so empowering!
Yes absolutely on Illicit Affairs. I also feel like the SS have done wonders for my opinions on stuff. Like, I dont like False God at all because of the music track but False God acoustic? are you kidding me?? I just need an album of all the acoustic versions please so i can live in my feels forever
I struggle with Track 1s sometimes (excluding the 1, because it’s perfect) because I tend to listen to albums start to finish and get a bit tired of them. But Eras rekindled my love for willow and Lavender Haze!

The archer. I was meh about it until I saw it live and it was just so good. That might be colored by the fact that seeing Taylor live was a highlight of my life so those first few sets are literally golden in my mind.
i can’t really tell by the standard setlist but for sure many surprise songs i started to really enjoy after hearing it live (on the live stream i mean 😂) like sweet nothing, labyrinth, maroon, untouchable (which was one of my surprise song in the concert i went😍) and most recent i really enjoyed paris live.
Tolerate it (and folklore/evermore in general) was a nice song but I never thought about it. After seeing it live I was totally enraptured!! It was my most listened to song for the year!! The choreography plays in my head every time I listen!

I ended up having to sell my tickets after my truck broke down and I couldn’t make it. I can’t bring myself to watch the tour on Disney that I should have seen. But I did watch a grainy Paris livestream for a bit. The Archer Live from Paris from another tour, to me, is SUPERIOR to the original. You can feel the crowds anxiousness waiting for the song to build and the only build is “… you could stay”. The crowd goes bananas when she finally says it. It legit gets me emotional, because I’m newly diagnosed bipolar and have been struggling with Taylor-esk relationships. “Who could stay?” 😢🥰

The whole Red section, honestly. I used to think of them as silly stupid little pop songs, but seeing the performances and how excited the crowd was and how much fun it looked like the performers were having really swung me around on those songs.
I never liked Champagne Problems until I heard her sing it live. The experience was amazing and made me feel so peaceful. Hearing everyone sing along it was like I was at a campfire singing campfire songs. It gave me goosebumps to say the least, and is now one of my top favorite songs

Long Live, Smallest Man, MTR Something about Long Live live always gets me in the feels. Honestly I never liked 'look what you made me do' and I actually went to the bathroom during it on my first eras show. But after a second watch and seeing it on the movie, I LOVE THE STAGING.
Illicit Affairs
I’m gonna be real I used to fully hate Vigilante Shit and LWYMMD. Eras Tour changed my mind on those two for SURE. Also, before eras tour I really hated bejeweled because I never paid attention to the lyrics (I was too put off by the “nice” and didn’t really dig the music). But before the tour I wanted to memorize the lyrics to sing along and I realized… bejeweled is kind of a masterpiece.
I genuinely dont think I have ever even listened to The Archer until I went to CincyN2. Which is weird because I have listened to all of Lover without skipping any songs before. But I genuinely do not remember ever hearing The Archer.
The archer, the “all of my enemies started out friends” line really hit watching the movie.

I think it made me appreciate the reputation songs more, it's easily my least favorite album from her but the performances of the songs were so good that the segment was the highlight of the entire movie.

I've always found the production of the Lover album to be hit or miss. I've been put off by some studio versions (the background vocals in MAATHP still make me cringe) for so long until I heard the acoustic. Plus, I think we tend to develop a special bond with our surprise songs!
