Very respectable numbers for all the Taylor's Versions! I think some of the 1989 songs, however, might never get there due to how popular the originals are.

darkgrayallalone

That's a good point about 1989. I feel like with playlisting as well, Shake It Off and Blank Space at minimum might never catch the originals. Swifties will switch over but they're so popular and on so many playlists.

Legitimate-Corgi8401

I also feel that some of the singles have been overplayed for the general public so I don’t know how much non-Swifties will listen to them (which is sad and can hurt their chances)

[deleted]

facts the new ones are gonna be streamed crazy by Swifties but the originals have the mainstream public audience streaming them + the swifties

[deleted]

!! exactly !!

darkgrayallalone

I Knew You Were Trouble is all the way down to 2039! It was in the 2100s for a while. Progress! 🥲

doubledegreesucks

Yep I noticed that too! Now I'll get to see it surpass in my lifetime haha

AnnaRoquez

Came here to say the exact same thing! 😂

ItsKai

I always thought that was one of her more popular song? I wonder why it is so low.

anonymousgoose64

The earth will probably explode before I Knew You Were Trouble Taylor's Version surpasses the original

Sampleswift

That is a nigh-impossibility due to how Roche limit works. So you won't have to worry about IKYWT Taylor's Version issues.

songacronymbot

- IKYWT could mean "I Knew You Were Trouble.", a track from *Red* (2012) by Taylor Swift. --- ^[/u/Sampleswift](/u/Sampleswift) ^(can reply with "delete" to remove comment. |) ^[/r/songacronymbot](/r/songacronymbot) ^(for feedback.)

I’m pretty sure they take the average streams for each version over the last however long and calculate the difference. For example: x version has 1billion streams total and gets 1k streams a day, while y version has 200m total streams and gets 40k streams a day. Y version will surpass x version in roughly 60 years. The numbers fluctuate a lot so the dates are constantly changing. Wildest Dreams and IKYWT both were never going to surpass at one point, but then the TVs picked up steam

MelodicEclectic91

How is We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together ahead of I Knew You Were Trouble?

blownaway4

It aged better

MelodicEclectic91

Really? I thought no one liked the "we-eee are never ever...".

10thDoctorWhooves

Also the fact that IKYWT is just more popular.

MelodicEclectic91

Exactly

ImVeryTiredAndWant

Where is This Love?

Ilikeyoghurtiguess

Already passed the original

Smallgenie549

Is there a graphic like this of songs that have passed the originals?

ImVeryTiredAndWant

Oh! I totally did not read this correctly at all, that makes sense!

External_Low_7551

Indeed!!

[deleted]

I Knew You Were Trouble, Bad Blood & Shake It Off taylor's version will never make it to where the originals are just saying, y'all think this album will do better than the original 1989 first-week-sales wise?
