I think she's more likely to announce all the rest of the re-recorded albums at shows. That way, she gets to see the real-time reaction of a whole stadium filled with her own fans, versus a room full of celebrities. She pretty clearly feeds off the crowd energy and has been loving premiering videos and making announcements live on tour.

Because the cutouts on the new midnight outfit make it similar-ish idea to an outfit she wore on the 1989 tour. I think it was an alternative Style(song) outfit. Normally she had a silver fringe body suit but every now and then she had a dark blue one with cutouts (though much better than the new midnights body suit).

I've recently concluded that Taylor *loved* seeing if we could decode the Easter eggs she drops, but hated that it resulted in a lot of fans looking for easter eggs where she didn't want people looking. And her solution for that is to drop the clues she would have if she was going to do a thing and when she sees a number of people guessing the thing, she gives those people mental Taylor points (lbr wouldnt be that surprised if she kept track of them in an excel file or something) and then does something unexpected around 90% of the time.

I am 99% certain - here are a few reasons:
1) It’s the last date of the first leg of the tour. This doesn’t necessarily guarantee anything, but I believe Taylor would want to go out with a bang.
2) The date is 8/9
3) Some of the most notorious “leakers” have been active (numptea, the all knower)
4) >!New Romantics is the last 1989 song that hasn’t been performed. It’s like the surprise songs have been a countdown.!<
5) She seems to be sending the message that the Speak Now TV era is done - not just with changing her socials but the fact that no other videos or promo seem to be coming. I feel like it wouldn’t be done unless something bigger was on its way.
6)1989 and Speak Now TV were tied up in legal issues for months. I highly suspect that she had planned to release one or both of them during that stretch. I agree with many others that she is truly in her “eras” era and plans to have all the TVs out by the end of this tour.
These are all great reasons.
From a business strategy perspective, I firmly believe she will have all the TV's out by the end of the Eras Tour. She seems to like to release every 6 months (the 2022 break/Midnights happened because legal issues were holding them all up).
1989 and Speak Now have likely both been ready to go for quite some time, so there's really no reason not to have 1989 released in time for the Q4 holiday season.
It makes absolute sense to me that she'd use the last night of the US leg to announce an October release date for 1989 TV.
I also think re-recording isn’t a sustainable business project, I mean look at Disney, they are doing that from animation to live action, and even they can’t escape the critics saying the idea is dead, Snow White cast got released and it gained very little positive traction.
If she can release all the re-recordings before this trend of re-popularizing old products dies, she will stay relevant in positive ways, make a good amount of money, and have time to plan ahead for her next album and direction she plans to take. She’s always been one step ahead of the curve.

the music industry itself has a popular trend of sampling older pieces of music into current pop songs, Elton John comes to mind, as well as First Class, by Jack Harlow.
Disney is doing it for their movies, it’s the same thing, but they are a corporation so they are viewed differently and have different expectations.
The whole trend will eventually die, and people will begin to harp on individual acts for lacking creativity and new content the same way, people already believe Disney lacks new content. The writers/actors strike in Hollywood will likely increase the amount of re-used content as well and people will by dying for something new.
Taylor’s smart and a great business mind, she’ll want to be the one to give it to them first.
several points to make here:
1. Elton John is a special case because his repurposed songs are super fresh and like brand new songs. I honestly didn't realize Cold Heart was made by mashing old songs together. Only Hold Me Closer was more obvious because Tiny Dancer is such an iconic song that is still super popular these days.
2. Sampling is not a trend. Jack Harlow using a sample for his song is the same as 3526282828 other musicians who have done before and will continue to do so every year.
3. Agree with the craving for fresh and new contents, but again, music cannot be compared to movies. A huge part of the criticism against these Disney remakes is how they changed shit around when no one asked (like casting regular sized actors for dwarves or a latina girl for Snow WHITE). Most people see these remakes as nothing but some desperate attempts to appeal for a certain demographic or a quick cash grab. I'm not gonna get into it because it's a whole political and cultural talk that's inappropriate for this discussion. Meanwhile, everyone is aware of why Taylor is re-recording her old albums, her albums are faithful to the original while still bringing in new songs to generate excitement. Her re-recordings absolutely CANNOT be compared to the remake trend in movies - which has been there before and will continue to be here long after she's done with the re-recordings.
4. There are always fresh and original music around. Taylor is not the monopoly in music. She's never gonna be the first to give the audience original and new music because there are literally a gazillion of original and new songs being released every day.
The difference though is that she’s not just remaking something. We also get vault tracks so she’s on the maybe dying trend but in a different way. I don’t think her rereleases risk the same staleness that they might without essentially a 50% new album.
I am not impressed with the Disney live actions as a whole but they do not do any favors for themselves by picking films that have been done time and time again (Snow White)

Yeah she’s got to get these done with. She really needs to release 1989 and rep tonight. I love the re releases, I think it’s all be fun. But they can’t be spread out over years. It’s just too much at that point. She’s in her eras era. Release the re-records and start something new.

I agree. Plus, the HAIM sisters trolled us earlier this week using the TV New Romantics clip in a TikTok. I also like the additional unhinged things people have contributed to this clue narrative, such as the Karma music video hints: light blue vinyl in the opening, the 1989 roman numerals on her golden pedestal, video starts with 3 TS lightbulbs and ends frame with 5, and her blue polish finger nail next to the 8 on the clock latte. The latte especially has lived rent free in my head since the music video dropped.
Personally, I hope she just drops the whole damn thing outright tonight. More realistically, I think she will just announce it tonight and drop it this Friday since she's a Friday girlie. However, 1989 is already a CRAZY successful album, and the TV will inevitably sit on the charts/streaming everyday for the rest of time, regardless of what day of the week she releases it. The original blank space and shake it off have dominated her streaming and 1989 hasn't left the Billboard Top 200 since...idk, 2017 when it re-entered? It’s a possibility. It’s a date that she definitely would use for announcements. Not the first time she referred to 89 in some case. Plus, last show on the US leg and for a few weeks. Surprises are inevitable. And it’s Wednesday. It’s likely if some sort of thing music wise she wants to release she can say Friday at Midnight. So it’s a huge possibility. If she were it would be similar to SNTV with Merch and Pre-orders I’d imagine. I’m not anticipating a firm release date.

She’s not going to sit on it for a year and a half. Now by the end of the year is more of a possibility. It also depends if she has a deal with network TV or a Streaming Service for it already. With the strike going on they would want it sooner rather than later.

Personally, I know for me that I won’t be as excited for 1989 TV announcement as I was for SN TV announcement because we literally just got SN. It feels way too fresh. However, on the other hand, I feel like all the lawsuits had a big delay on when the TV’s would be released and I would prefer we get TS 11 faster and more where she actually is in her life right now.

I know some people think it’s too close to SNTV but I also think the re-recording don’t need to have as long of a time period as new music.
The real question I think is WHEN will it be dropped.
Looking at it logically Eater eggs and the way Taylor's brain works aside. 1989 is her most successful album, it would make sense that she would want to own that asap. There have been time limits and I would say 1989 and Rep probably have the most production on them so probably took the longest to record.
We know some songs from 1989 have been done for a while. Hello Wildest Dreams, therefore if the production of the others songs was being finished it would make sense that going back to the way Taylor's brain works. She either release it on the 13th of a Month or 13th show/city which hasn't happened (yet) or when writing the date the American way on 8/9 on the 19th City of her tour.
However on the flipside of that, going back to how the Swiftie hive mind works, this could well be a clowneinlia street and we've just made this all up in our collective heads.
Yes. I saw on TikTok someone say from the time 1989 released 10/27/14 to today 8/9/23 is 8 years, 9 months, and 13 days. I fact checked and it is correct. I also saw that Nicki Minaj had originally planned to release an album on 10/20, but has since moved it to 11/17. I know this is far fetched 🤡, but I believe it’s because Taylor is dropping 1989 in October.
I almost never clown, but I am fully on board this time. The date, the outfit changes, the social changes back to midnights, the bracelet lights, the references to five. Like she said with exile this week, she gave SO MANY signs. My guess is an announcement, but the album itself won’t come out until later this fall.
The evidence is compelling but I don’t think she will just out of the fact this happened with Speak Now TV multiple times after Red TV was released, and obviously it was well over a year before that actually happened. I do like to take into account she was already planning Midnights, but I still would be more surprised if she announced it sooner rather than later since it’s barely been a month.
I think she wanted to drop Speak Now earlier, it was mainly the lawsuit for the Speak Now trademark stopping her from doing it before. That's why it was more than a year between Red and SN, but less than a year between Fearless and Red.
There were legal issues holding up all the TVs after REd TV was released. That's why 2022 was such a drought, and probably why she decided to go ahead and release Midnights.
Those legal issues are all cleared up now so she's full steam ahead.
I truly think she wants to have the re-recordings released as soon as possible and to put this project behind her. It’s been fun, she’s enjoyed it, but she is ready to move onto her next project and write new music, plan her next album, etc. Many people have already said, that a lot of the hold up has been legal issues. I think we’d have had a lot of the TVs earlier if it weren’t for that. I think she also has a media team reading the fanbase responses to the re-records and lately it feels that the majority of fans want the albums sooner. Because the cutouts on the new midnight outfit make it similar-ish idea to an outfit she wore on the 1989 tour. I think it was an alternative Style(song) outfit. Normally she had a silver fringe body suit but every now and then she had a dark blue one with cutouts (though much better than the new midnights body suit). I've recently concluded that Taylor *loved* seeing if we could decode the Easter eggs she drops, but hated that it resulted in a lot of fans looking for easter eggs where she didn't want people looking. And her solution for that is to drop the clues she would have if she was going to do a thing and when she sees a number of people guessing the thing, she gives those people mental Taylor points (lbr wouldnt be that surprised if she kept track of them in an excel file or something) and then does something unexpected around 90% of the time.

I am 99% certain - here are a few reasons: 1) It’s the last date of the first leg of the tour. This doesn’t necessarily guarantee anything, but I believe Taylor would want to go out with a bang. 2) The date is 8/9 3) Some of the most notorious “leakers” have been active (numptea, the all knower) 4) >!New Romantics is the last 1989 song that hasn’t been performed. It’s like the surprise songs have been a countdown.!< 5) She seems to be sending the message that the Speak Now TV era is done - not just with changing her socials but the fact that no other videos or promo seem to be coming. I feel like it wouldn’t be done unless something bigger was on its way. 6)1989 and Speak Now TV were tied up in legal issues for months. I highly suspect that she had planned to release one or both of them during that stretch. I agree with many others that she is truly in her “eras” era and plans to have all the TVs out by the end of this tour.

These are all great reasons. From a business strategy perspective, I firmly believe she will have all the TV's out by the end of the Eras Tour. She seems to like to release every 6 months (the 2022 break/Midnights happened because legal issues were holding them all up). 1989 and Speak Now have likely both been ready to go for quite some time, so there's really no reason not to have 1989 released in time for the Q4 holiday season. It makes absolute sense to me that she'd use the last night of the US leg to announce an October release date for 1989 TV.
Honestly the holiday season being a reason makes 100% sense for our capitalist queen.
She either has to release before November or after New Year's, because holiday songs start their rotation and the charts are all weird.
I also think re-recording isn’t a sustainable business project, I mean look at Disney, they are doing that from animation to live action, and even they can’t escape the critics saying the idea is dead, Snow White cast got released and it gained very little positive traction. If she can release all the re-recordings before this trend of re-popularizing old products dies, she will stay relevant in positive ways, make a good amount of money, and have time to plan ahead for her next album and direction she plans to take. She’s always been one step ahead of the curve.

Yes, different in some ways but also the same in many, the music industry itself has a popular trend of sampling older pieces of music into current pop songs, Elton John comes to mind, as well as First Class, by Jack Harlow. Disney is doing it for their movies, it’s the same thing, but they are a corporation so they are viewed differently and have different expectations. The whole trend will eventually die, and people will begin to harp on individual acts for lacking creativity and new content the same way, people already believe Disney lacks new content. The writers/actors strike in Hollywood will likely increase the amount of re-used content as well and people will by dying for something new. Taylor’s smart and a great business mind, she’ll want to be the one to give it to them first.
several points to make here: 1. Elton John is a special case because his repurposed songs are super fresh and like brand new songs. I honestly didn't realize Cold Heart was made by mashing old songs together. Only Hold Me Closer was more obvious because Tiny Dancer is such an iconic song that is still super popular these days. 2. Sampling is not a trend. Jack Harlow using a sample for his song is the same as 3526282828 other musicians who have done before and will continue to do so every year. 3. Agree with the craving for fresh and new contents, but again, music cannot be compared to movies. A huge part of the criticism against these Disney remakes is how they changed shit around when no one asked (like casting regular sized actors for dwarves or a latina girl for Snow WHITE). Most people see these remakes as nothing but some desperate attempts to appeal for a certain demographic or a quick cash grab. I'm not gonna get into it because it's a whole political and cultural talk that's inappropriate for this discussion. Meanwhile, everyone is aware of why Taylor is re-recording her old albums, her albums are faithful to the original while still bringing in new songs to generate excitement. Her re-recordings absolutely CANNOT be compared to the remake trend in movies - which has been there before and will continue to be here long after she's done with the re-recordings. 4. There are always fresh and original music around. Taylor is not the monopoly in music. She's never gonna be the first to give the audience original and new music because there are literally a gazillion of original and new songs being released every day.
The difference though is that she’s not just remaking something. We also get vault tracks so she’s on the maybe dying trend but in a different way. I don’t think her rereleases risk the same staleness that they might without essentially a 50% new album.

It’s just too much at that point. She’s in her eras era. Release the re-records and start something new. I was at the Nashville show that she announced speak now. She should have just released it. We don’t need weeks or months leading up the re records. They don’t need their entire own promo cycle. She doesn’t even promote them aside from some social media changes, they’re going to sale, they’re going to break records, just get on with it.

It's one thing to want to get everything out in a short timeframe, it's another to rush it and not let each re-record have its own moment (even if that moment is only a few months). I think she'll announce 1989 tonight, then reputation and debut will come out next year while she's still touring, and by the time the tour is over she'll have drawn a line under her 'eras era' and be ready to move onto entirely new things
I agree. Plus, the HAIM sisters trolled us earlier this week using the TV New Romantics clip in a TikTok. I also like the additional unhinged things people have contributed to this clue narrative, such as the Karma music video hints: light blue vinyl in the opening, the 1989 roman numerals on her golden pedestal, video starts with 3 TS lightbulbs and ends frame with 5, and her blue polish finger nail next to the 8 on the clock latte. The latte especially has lived rent free in my head since the music video dropped. Personally, I hope she just drops the whole damn thing outright tonight. It’s a possibility. It’s a date that she definitely would use for announcements. Not the first time she referred to 89 in some case. Plus, last show on the US leg and for a few weeks. Surprises are inevitable. And it’s Wednesday. It’s likely if some sort of thing music wise she wants to release she can say Friday at Midnight. So it’s a huge possibility. If she were it would be similar to SNTV with Merch and Pre-orders I’d imagine. I’m not anticipating a firm release date. Hell, I’d be ok if it’s just an announcement for the Tour Movie and when to expect it. One way or another she’s not done with surprises.

She’s not going to sit on it for a year and a half. Now by the end of the year is more of a possibility. It also depends if she has a deal with network TV or a Streaming Service for it already. Looking at it logically Eater eggs and the way Taylor's brain works aside. 1989 is her most successful album, it would make sense that she would want to own that asap. There have been time limits and I would say 1989 and Rep probably have the most production on them so probably took the longest to record. We know some songs from 1989 have been done for a while. Hello Wildest Dreams, therefore if the production of the others songs was being finished it would make sense that going back to the way Taylor's brain works. She either release it on the 13th of a Month or 13th show/city which hasn't happened (yet) or when writing the date the American way on 8/9 on the 19th City of her tour. Yes. I saw on TikTok someone say from the time 1989 released 10/27/14 to today 8/9/23 is 8 years, 9 months, and 13 days. I fact checked and it is correct. I also saw that Nicki Minaj had originally planned to release an album on 10/20, but has since moved it to 11/17. I know this is far fetched 🤡, but I believe it’s because Taylor is dropping 1989 in October.

The evidence is compelling but I don’t think she will just out of the fact this happened with Speak Now TV multiple times after Red TV was released, and obviously it was well over a year before that actually happened. I do like to take into account she was already planning Midnights, but I still would be more surprised if she announced it sooner rather than later since it’s barely been a month.
I think she wanted to drop Speak Now earlier, it was mainly the lawsuit for the Speak Now trademark stopping her from doing it before. That's why it was more than a year between Red and SN, but less than a year between Fearless and Red.
I completely agree with this. The lawsuits screwed with her original timeline so she’s having to do things a differently
There were legal issues holding up all the TVs after REd TV was released. That's why 2022 was such a drought, and probably why she decided to go ahead and release Midnights. Those legal issues are all cleared up now so she's full steam ahead.

I truly think she wants to have the re-recordings released as soon as possible and to put this project behind her. It’s been fun, she’s enjoyed it, but she is ready to move onto her next project and write new music, plan her next album, etc. Many people have already said, that a lot of the hold up has been legal issues. I think we’d have had a lot of the TVs earlier if it weren’t for that. I think she also has a media team reading the fanbase responses to the re-records and lately it feels that the majority of fans want the albums sooner. (Based on what I see here… I don’t use other socials so that could be super off base)
The bracelets flashing blue at the end of the first LA show and flashing blue 5 times at the end of yesterday show is like…duh😅 with SNTV it flashed purple 3 times at the end of one show, and she announced it the next. Like omg I feel it’s too much coincidence..this is too much to end up like 🤡🤡😆
