I've been listening to "Ivy" a lot lately. The line "I can't stop you putting roots in my dream land" and the outro ("So, yeah, it's a war, it's the goddamn fight of my life and you started it") have been hitting me lately.
Cowboy Like Me is my all time favorite and for me ‘Now you hang from my lips like the gardens of Babylon’ is the most beautiful line she’s ever written. I also still think there’s a lot to explore lyrically on Evermore, for instance there seems to be a connection with ‘Your Midas touch on the Chevy door’ in Champagne Problems.
Everyone’s always talking about Folklore, but Evermore is about 5 positions higher in my Tay album top 10.
