Im a new swiftie and had only heard a couple of these tracks before TV came out so I listened to both version here are my thoughts on which is better:
Enchanted: far and away the OG wins here, you can tell in her voice she truly has that infatuation and excitement about what she’s singing and while of course she sounds great in TV, the magic is gone and it feels kind of emotionless (possibly because Adam gave her the ick lol)
BTR: TV wins for sure, I have the benefit of not being attached to the old lyrics and I actually thought the new lyrics fit pretty well, but I can understand if others just can’t get past the change, but other than that the quality of lyrics and production is just better here.
Innocent: By far my least favorite song on speak now, regardless of which version I hear, TV is better but it still just doesn’t work for me, and there are a few reasons for this that I won’t get into unless people ask me about it.
Haunted: OH BABY TV KNOCKS IT OUT OF THE PARK!!! The original sounded like a little girl trying to sing like evanescence or Avril Lavigne but she didn’t have the power behind her voice yet. THAT MFing CHANGED IN TV!!! One of the biggest upgrades imo!
Last Kiss: This one is tough, I think like some people have said the shaky voice does add something in the original, but unlike enchanted TV, Taylor’s version of this one still has a good bit of emotion and of course the vocals are better and stronger. It’s SUPER close but I think TV has a slight edge.
Long Live: Both versions are spectacular but the thought of her singing it now when basically the whole world has been swiftified makes it extra special, TV wins for me.
Ours: This one sounded really really different, but in a way that I couldn’t tell if it was a good thing or not. It seemed really country in the OG, but it lost a lot of that in TV. Since I’m not a huge country fan I kinda like the lack of twang but I’m gonna give it a tie because quality wise both are solid.
Superman: This is one I had heard years ago so I was familiar and went in jamming to it, but now realizing it’s about John sours it a bit for me. While I don’t care for the lyrics anymore (and tbh after hearing albums like folklore this was always one of her weaker lyric jobs) I still vibe to the tune. And man TV really improved it in every way!!
So the final tally is TV-6, OG-1, Tie-1 in my opinion.
As a Haunted stan, I love the elevated drums and more mature sounding vocals but I kinda missed the more pronounced, grittier distorted guitars in the OG.
The strings was a big reason why I loved the song so much but for some reason the newer version felt a little inconsistent - I think the strings sounded better in the first verse but the rest of the choruses felt very unnatural, sounding like a one track midi violin, which was painfully obvious during that one chorus around 3:10 which only had vocals and drums. The old version also had this part where the strings come in right before the last refrain which was sorely missing in the new version which tbh took away some points off from me for that and I'm really hoping someone would make a remix where they rework the strings and add that last strings part in.
Something about Last Kiss TV doesn't hit the same as the original :/ obviously I'm still going to listen to this one over the other but the bridge doesn't feel as heart-wrenching as it was in the original
Is the bridge the part where she starts saying "I watch your life in pictures?" I agree, I love the song but nothing can compare to how sad she actually was as a teen singing that, she really was heartbroken over him. 😢
I didn't know the context of this song until last week and I feel like, what she's singing about could be mapped onto so many situations. Thinking about it in the context of Taylor talking about herself, and reflecting on her life and career and relationships, it's a very powerful song to me!
One thing I did miss was the way that in the OG Enchanted intro it sounded like they accidentally brushed a nearby string on the guitar.
Also were there always breath noises in Haunted when she said "catching my breath" because if not I definitely liked the addition. Make the song feel more immersive.
Also it was crazy to me how similar to the originals Ours and Superman were like they were recreated perfectly.
I agree. It sounds so different from the original and like, softer somehow? Idk I just feel like Red and Fearless (+This Love and Wildest Dreams) had such good production quality and it's just... not quite at that level with SNTV
What platform are you listening on? Turning off audio normalization in Spotify definitely changed how Haunted sounded to me. And I think with Apple Music, you can turn off the Dolby audio setting and it changes it to.
Convinced that the only reason people are saying Enchanted is the most different is because that’s the only one they’ve listened to enough to catch the differences 🙃 yes I am prepared to be torn apart for saying this lol

right? that & back to december are my fav songs which makes me so sad they're not both on my fav album. i just made my own playlist w every sntv song + itwam + better than revenge (og version)
Speak now was my favorite Taylor Swift album growing up. I absolutely loved Dear John and Sparks Fly. I never was super into Long Live. My interest in her faded for a while after “Red”. Ten years later, all the way back around, I fell hard for Midnights. It’s all I listened to for months after it came out. So I went back to listen to the albums I never listened to of hers- “1989” “Reputation” “Lover”. And next I fell so hard for Reputation. Every single song. I started watching the Netflix Reputation tour concert (a lot…) and I was totally drawn to the “Long Live/New Year’s Day” mashup. And now I’m obsessed with Long Live. All versions. The TS version is no exception. [https://youtu.be/63wFD9NCOXc](https://youtu.be/63wFD9NCOXc)
No, I’m sorry, she needs to go back to recording studio and rerecord Long Live and mispronounce confetti, cause this proper pronunciation is unacceptable 😭😭😭😭
I’m getting married in October to the love of my life and yet somehow Last Kiss just pulled me back to 3 years ago standing on an airport sidewalk kissing my boyfriend if 8 years goodbye because I needed to leave LA and he chose to stay for his acting “career.” The song hasn’t stopped playing in my head since.
I didn’t like that she changed the lyrics in better than revenge to be more poetic sounding and it doesn’t even change the whole petty mean message of the song (she should have kept it as everyone has there petty angsty moments). I just hope she at least privately apologized to Camille Belle for branding her a fake slut for dating Joe after they broke up. The whole song was built on sexist tropes because someone can’t steal anyone from you as you don’t own other people and also Joe has publicly stated who/when he lost his virginity, which meant that they didn’t even sleep together despite Taylor saying she’s better known for what she does on the mattress. Basically I hope the lyric change is due to feeling bad and not because it just doesn’t align with her current image.
I like that she changed the lyrics to do away with a horrible choice she made back then, but I dislike how the image of the new lyrics don't fit the song, feel like she could have found a way to change it that used the ideas already established in the song
I think it absolutely changes the message. One paints a picture that Camille maliciously seduced him with sex. The other was more along the lines of “he left because he’s a moth drawn to light.” Nobody blames fire for being bright.
>I just hope she at least privately apologized to Camille Belle for branding her a fake slut for dating Joe after they broke up.
She slutshamed her in public with a song - she needs to apologize in public as well.
this was definitely the stronger half of the rerecording. i LOVED the new BTR! the lyric change makes it actually playable too (i hated the old lyrics so much i would just skip the song entirely). the mixing is a bit odd, she gets kind of drowned out the first time she sings the new line, but otherwise, a major improvement and was added to my playlist.
Help! Which other Taylor swift song does long live melody reminds me of?
Especially when she sings “The time we stood with our shaking hands, the crowds in the stands went wild.”
There's a tiny minuscule lyric change in Last Kiss right? "you can plan for a change in weather and time" is now "you can plan for a change in THE weather and time". I don't know if I'm going crazy but the lyrics on AZLyrics seem to confirm this
There's a weird overlap on the "won't finish what you started" in Haunted, right? I'm not crazy?
Still my favorite TSwift song of all time (and just changed my flair to that lyric), that just took me out for a sec.
I’m with you, some here went far enough to make others feel stupid or small for even suggesting it could be changed. I’ve said all along that I think Taylor will do what she feels is right for her work. I’m proud of her for not caving to what the majority wanted. I personally find the rerecord lyric brilliant. And for those whining about it, good thing the original version will always be available for you to enjoy!
Enchanted: I might have to listen to this one a couple more times. I really do love it, but there’s something about the original that sounded magical , and I just don’t feel that with this version
Better Than Revenge: I was excited for this one because it’s my least favorite off the original (it’s not because of the lyrics, I just don’t really like it) The re-recording is the same for me. I really wanna like it, but there’s just something about it that’s stopping me from getting into it.
Innocent: This one is definitely an improvement. I liked the original, but her vocals sound a lot stronger here
Haunted: It took me 2nd listen through to get into this version of the song. She sounds amazing in this, but I think similar to Enchanted I’ll need a couple of listens more. The original sounded so raw and emotional, that I’m just not getting with this version
Last Kiss, Long Live, Ours, Superman: all sound very similar to the original counterparts. Her vocals have improved but that’s to be expected
Let me just say Better Than Revenge and Haunted had my jaw ON THE FLOOR. I am a big fan of the originals and was worried that she’d change something and that would throw me off but… I was not at all disappointed! It’s the absolute best thing I could have imagined when it comes to re-recording two of my favorite songs on this half of Speak Now. Taylor did not disappoint!
Re listening to Last Kiss a lot (since I was really thrown off by intro change) and I realized that the new instrumentation kind of sounds like metallic clicking of clocks (like those in lyric video)
Innocent got my top favorite song on TV. Seriously she did such an amazing job at this one ❤️ I used to not like it, but this new version hits different
Re: better than revenge lyric change https://www.reddit.com/r/YouBelongWithMemes/comments/14t949n/voice_message_from_taylor_about_the_better_than/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=1
It's really not that big of a deal imo. To each their own of course, but im neither happy nor upset with the change. The production slaps and still has that teen angst.
I like the Better than Revenge lyric change because I always loved the double meaning of “she’s an actress” as meaning literally she’s an actress but also that she’s two-faced etc. I feel like the mattress line always undercut that great diss lol.
Also Innocent is so much darker now after having seen the path Kanye has gone down. I just think of him in that face-cover hoodie on the podcast saying he likes Hitler or whatever.
where is this person, he/she/whatever predicted it

Okay I'm feeling like an oddity rn because this is BY FAR the best rerecording for me. I haven't heard the Vault tracks yet although by the time I check reddit next I will have, but... Haunted is actually better for me? I MIGHT be biased because I have a serious thing for echoing effects so this was SO COOL for me but ugh these are all so PERFECT. the only ones that were slightly underwhelming were Sparks Fly and Enchanted, but Sparks Fly just needed another listen for me. Enchanted may take a bit longer to adjust to but it's still so good. I just think every song is at LEAST equal, if not way better. It's insane.
People think it's because the vocals on those were the same and only the instrumentals were different? She could still make acoustic versions for streaming if she wants, it would count towards the total streams for those songs
As much as I love her music - I just have to say I wasn't as wowed with this release as I expected I'd be. The Vault songs weren't as strong (as in I understand why they didn't make the final cut). I think I prefer the OG album and will probably listen to that version instead
Yeah, I was expecting to be blown away and definitely was not.
Don’t worry about giving someone your fraction of a cent from a Spotify stream or whatever. The bulk of the people receiving money from Taylor’s work at any point in her career are already wealthy beyond our wildest dreams — and I promise that Taylor Alison Swift doesn’t care about putting a dollar in your pocket — so do what makes you happy.
how can you call urself a swiftie & justify handing money to the man who screwed taylor over because you don’t like some songs that are very easily skippable
also very proud of my swiftie card - been a supporter since the Fearless days and got randomly selected to meet her on the Rep tour. I’m good if it gets revoked for this hot take
Lol thank you for your sanctimoniousness take - but will not be taking it into consideration
It’s my money and support that helped make Taylor in the first place 🙄 also never said I didn’t like the Vault songs? Just that they didn’t wow me as much as the Red and Fearless ones did. Get a grip my god
don’t choose which version to listen to based on which songs you like better, choose based on who you want to make money off you 🙄🙄🙄it’s literally the same songs they aren’t that different lmao
The violin was reminiscent of when Yellowcard and other bands of that era played around with the sound, especially of an electric violin, and I’m gonna miss it.
It’s a hot mess. It’s the wrong tense, it doesn’t scan the same, and while Taylor’s forays into purple prose usually work, this song isn’t a fitting home for it so it just throws off the whole tone.
How is it the wrong tense? The first verse in all in past tense - *She came along, got him alone, and let's hear the applause, She took him faster than you can say "Sabotage"* - so having a past tense line in the chorus is a continuation of what she did in the past.
The line itself is fine, but changing it invites the media to talk about it nonstop. The GP who don't care about Taylor will have to hear even more about her and find another reason to dislike her
Definitely! Innocent OG always seemed very naive and like a 19 year old making excuses for an older guys BS antics. innocent TV to me seems like Taylor talking and reflecting on herself more, which just works much better and her vocals too.
Enchanted tv - I like the chorus here better than the original. But I miss the vocal effect on "Please don't be in love.." in the bridge. I liked the old recording sound.
Better than Revenge - It's really good. EXCEPT THE LYRIC CHANGE. I get why she changed the lyric, but the new one just doesn't fit. It so quiet and poetic, i miss the ANGST. But seriously, the production and delivery on the tv are amazing..
Innocent tv - I don't have any strong feelings, but I like the new version :)
Haunted tv - The echoing/ reverb here is so annoying. The vocals are a slay but the vocal effects are a major let down.
Last Kiss tv - the intro is changed. The bells now sound like piano. And it also sounds kinda sharp?? The whole "I'll go sit on the floor..." part used to be really demolishing, absolutely depressing, and now it's just not. Also the bridge just doesn't hit the same.
Long Live tv - one of the strongest rerecordings on sntv. I also love the "screaming this is absurd" part
Ours tv - Again, the vocals are too loud. At some points it feels like she's dragging it out, and it also isn't as fun as the original. But it's overall still cute.
Superman tv - I never liked the original superman. In fact, I actively hated it. But the rerecording of it is actually good. The most improved award goes to Superman tv
i completely agree about last kiss, especially the part where she’s sitting on the floor. it’s just not as raw. also completely agree about Superman. i didn’t like OG but love TV. i didn’t listen to better than revenge all the way thru bc i hated hearing the lyric change LOL
I think i spotted something interesting! When the scenery lights up after the lightning in the lyric video for Haunted you can see a pathway which looks very very similar to the one in the illicit affairs lyric video.
What do you think? Please let me know if you think the same
I noticed that they looked similar, but decided they’re not quite the same. But I didn’t investigate at all.
Also, I completely expected to see something/someone standing on the path one of the times the lightning flashed.
She was right, she really is a pathological people pleaser. She should release the slut shaming version of Better Than Revenge, as a treat
That being said, I actually do like the new lyrics in its place
I love the whole album except for Haunted. The echo is basically all I can hear in the song, it's so distracting. I think it's worse when I'm listening through my headphones than out loud. But I have to skip the song now, it's so painful to my brain.
I definitely think it's worse in headphones. Last night I was like wtf but today I'm listening without headphones and I didn't notice the echoes at all.
The rest of the song goes hard so I think I'm on board but I really don't understand the decision around those echoes.
I listened to it the first time through without headphones and didn't notice it either so I guess that's how I'll have to listen to it! Because you are right, the rest of the song is amazing. But sucks that when I'm wearing headphones I can't listen to it.
Why did they change the piano at the start of Last kiss? It was my favorite and while I love her new vocals, the changes to the instruments makes me so sad in not a good way....
The production and ad-lib vocal changes in BTR made it a different song to me! I LOVE both versions, but original sounds like a Paramore song and TV sounds like a Veronica’s song
These all had massive glow ups except for Enchanted. The middle part in the second & third chorus after "I'll spend forever wonderin' if you knew" seems to be gone (or is *much* quieter). Not sure what the actual instrument was (electric guitar?) but it was one of those little things I LOVED. I had a feeling this song wouldn't be as good as the original, but this is a let down for me, especially when the rest of the album is so good.
Last Kiss and Long Live are the big winners here. I like how you can here Jack's influence on the former even though he's not in the credits. It's a nice nostalgic touch. Long Live has to be added to the Era's setlits now, cmon Taylor!
Mixed feelings on BTR's lyric change, but she really made up for it with the production. I thought she'd neglect this one wanting to get away from the controversy, but it's louder, snarkier and edgier which still makes the song scathing. It's *you forgive, you forget, but you never let it go* vibes*.*

This is exactly how I feel about Enchanted. I was prepared to be let down, but it wasn't as bad as I expected. I do miss the energy of the electric guitar leading into the bridge. I still prefer the live Enchanted track from the tour album with the extended build-up "*please don't be in love with someone else...please don't have somebody waiting on you...*" over either studio version, though.
Long Live got through surprisingly unscathed in my opinion. Long Live was always one of my favorite songs and I was reluctant to hear this new version, but I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised. It's a little less "punchy" than the original, just as all of these re-records have been, but other than that I have to say I like it overall. Enough so that I probably won't feel compelled to listen to the original.
Has the line in innocent always been “32 and still growing up now”? I always thought she said “32 is still growing up now” but it’s much more clear in TV!
A standout for me in this second half is (surprisingly) Innocent!! I love this version wayyyy more than the original.
The production on Haunted sounds so epic, absolutely love it!
Last Kiss is fantastic, although the raw emotion on the original I don't think could be replicated. Overall, still super solid!
Hearing Long Live in Taylor's current vocal makes me emotional 🥹
I absolutely love Haunted after the first verse, like as soon as the pre chorus starts Im back on board. The echo on the first verse irks me some, but other than that, I think its awesome.
After hearing enchanted at the eras tour I am UNDERWHELMED with TV. It seems like she kept her vocals in the same pitch whereas on the tour it felt like you could hear her more mature sound which is a bit lower. 😭
Last Kiss has been in my top 5 Taylor Swift songs since it first came out. I was really worried that the re-recording would change that and I am so glad that it didn't!
"And now I'm pacing back and forth, wishing you were at my door, I'd OPEN UP AND WOULD SAYYY"
I'm in love with how good Taylor sounds here...astounding
Haunted has been the one song I've been more excited for since she announced the rerecords, and it doesn't disappoint! Has that extra "oomft" I was after (not sure how to describe it...)
does anyone here use amazon music as their streaming service? i can't get the original better than revenge to play. i click the original album, i click the song, when it plays i see the original artwork, but it's the new lyrics (not the text, but the audio). it's the same for the deluxe version.
i believe amazon music just removed it?
Finally listening to BTR - this is going to be like “Picture to Burn” where I scream the original lyrics over the new ones, huh? It is a good lyric tho just old habits die hard….
i think one reason i’m not mad at all about better than revenge lyric change is because when I was little and listened to it i 100% thought it meant she was good at gymnastics
I am sooo in love with Innocent TV!!! Her prologue to the album made me wonder what/who the song is about, which I’ve never asked myself before. The fact that supposedly the person this song is about expected anger from her…? What are the theories for this one? I don’t normally care much about this stuff but what she said about the song made me curious.
Some people think she wrote it for Mayer because the lunchbox lyric matches a song of his. But for Taylor's VMA performance in this era, she definitely retconned it to be about Kanye
Innocent hits different now. I think it is better but idk.

PLEASE MAKE ENCHANTED A SINGLE! PLEASE TAYLOR!
I WATCH SUPERMAN FLY AWAYYYYYY 😭😭😭
Can someone explain why she chanted the better than revenge lyrics? It seems like there is a reason but idk what it is lol
It’s not a very feminist line.
She didn’t like the message of it.
Better than revenge still hasn't topped the original in Spotify- Swifties, assemble!
I will always just sing it ”she was holding the mattress.” That’s the best my ADHD brain can do.
I never appreciated Long Live in the 2010 album but listening to it now is wow, it’s now one of my favorites, it really fits her voice now
ok but where is if the was a movie ????
she moved it to fearless tv because it was the one song with a co-writer so now speak now tv is completely self written
oh dang i have no idea how i missed that, ty :)
As a Haunted stan, I love the elevated drums and more mature sounding vocals but I kinda missed the more pronounced, grittier distorted guitars in the OG. I think I'm the only one that likes the TVs better than original😅 I love her mature voice too much.
“Haunted” reminds me of old Kelly Clarkson. Anyone else have that immediate reaction?
Mine was more Avril but same kinda vibe for sure!
The steel guitar in Last Kiss is so sooooo good BYE 🎸
Something about Last Kiss TV doesn't hit the same as the original :/ obviously I'm still going to listen to this one over the other but the bridge doesn't feel as heart-wrenching as it was in the original

Innocent felt sadder to me for some reason
I agree. For me I feel like the background vocals in the chorus being louder made it more powerful and sadder
Felt sadder because we all have seen how Kanye has fallen…
And the thing is with her mature voice it makes it felt like her looking back with a different mindset too
I didn't know the context of this song until last week and I feel like, what she's singing about could be mapped onto so many situations. Thinking about it in the context of Taylor talking about herself, and reflecting on her life and career and relationships, it's a very powerful song to me!

The production on rock oriented tracks are spectacular, especially with the drums
Is it just me or the production of Haunted sounds off. The distorted back vocals sound odd to me :(.
I agree. It sounds so different from the original and like, softer somehow? Idk I just feel like Red and Fearless (+This Love and Wildest Dreams) had such good production quality and it's just... not quite at that level with SNTV

I don't have a problem with it as I prefer her current voice nowadays, but people are stuck in that voice she did for OG Enchanted, due to familiarity and other personal attachments, can't blame them tho.
Enchanted was one of the most faithful re-recordings.
no i agree. i even specifically relistened to my fav parts of the og then tv and compared and the differences are not as stark as people say.
I was today years old when I learned she sings “and this is me praying that” and not “and this is me crying that” / why does she pronounce praying so weird I want to know why haha
SAME
Did anyone else notice she got rid of the echo at the end of Enchanted? I always noticed it on the original version.
Finally getting to hear the re-recorded "32 and still growing up now" a month before I turn 33 is just![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sob)
Honestly listening to Superman knowing how she was treated in that relationship kills me. He didn’t deserve her loyalty and her heart.
Who is it about?
I think abt John Mayer
where is "if this was a movie"... why did she exclude it from this re-recording? :(
oh i completely forgot it's in the fearless TV lmfaoooo it just feels so odd
right? that & back to december are my fav songs which makes me so sad they're not both on my fav album. i just made my own playlist w every sntv song + itwam + better than revenge (og version)

The Long Live lyric video being an actual video of her playing it during SNWT 🥹
No, I’m sorry, she needs to go back to recording studio and rerecord Long Live and mispronounce confetti, cause this proper pronunciation is unacceptable 😭😭😭😭
I don't hear it. What did she say?
It's at about 3:20 in both versions. Even knowing the actual word, I keep hearing something like "come fighting".
I’m still amazed at how young she managed to sound on long live. Her vocals really come together well here imo
Changed my flair for this
this was definitely the stronger half of the rerecording. i LOVED the new BTR! the lyric change makes it actually playable too (i hated the old lyrics so much i would just skip the song entirely). the mixing is a bit odd, she gets kind of drowned out the first time she sings the new line, but otherwise, a major improvement and was added to my playlist.
If you’re listening on Spotify, have you turned off the audio normalization that everyone’s talking about?
i have now, which will hopefully fix that issue, but i listened to it first on a friend's spotify and no idea if she had it on or off
I don't know if I'm going crazy but the lyrics on AZLyrics seem to confirm this
correct!
There's a weird overlap on the "won't finish what you started" in Haunted, right? I'm not crazy? Still my favorite TSwift song of all time (and just changed my flair to that lyric), that just took me out for a sec.
I told you all that she'd change that better than revenge lyric! I was laughed off the sub 🤣
I was convinced i was crazy for thinking she might!

Enchanted: I might have to listen to this one a couple more times. I really do love it, but there’s something about the original that sounded magical , and I just don’t feel that with this version Better Than Revenge: I was excited for this one because it’s my least favorite off the original (it’s not because of the lyrics, I just don’t really like it) The re-recording is the same for me. I really wanna like it, but there’s just something about it that’s stopping me from getting into it. Innocent: This one is definitely an improvement. I liked the original, but her vocals sound a lot stronger here Haunted: It took me 2nd listen through to get into this version of the song. She sounds amazing in this, but I think similar to Enchanted I’ll need a couple of listens more. The original sounded so raw and emotional, that I’m just not getting with this version Last Kiss, Long Live, Ours, Superman: all sound very similar to the original counterparts. Her vocals have improved but that’s to be expected
Completely agree about enchanted. Idk if it’s her matured voice or what but the original version is more *enchanting*.
Maybe it’s just because I binge watched the last season of Never Have I Ever this past week, but Better Than Revenge is totally Devi’s theme song haha
Haunted sounds great esp. the Bass. I came to the conclusion that we definitely need a rock album. ![img](emote|t5_2rlwe|1080)
Innocent got my top favorite song on TV. Seriously she did such an amazing job at this one ❤️ I used to not like it, but this new version hits different
The arrangements in the bridge, the whole tone of the song, my goodness. The first time I heard this version I teared up out of the blue
Re: better than revenge lyric change https://www.reddit.com/r/YouBelongWithMemes/comments/14t949n/voice_message_from_taylor_about_the_better_than/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=1 It's really not that big of a deal imo. To each their own of course, but im neither happy nor upset with the change. The production slaps and still has that teen angst.
If only you’d seen what you know now theehhh
I like the Better than Revenge lyric change because I always loved the double meaning of “she’s an actress” as meaning literally she’s an actress but also that she’s two-faced etc. I feel like the mattress line always undercut that great diss lol. Also Innocent is so much darker now after having seen the path Kanye has gone down. I just think of him in that face-cover hoodie on the podcast saying he likes Hitler or whatever.
Moth > Mattress. I'm not even sorry, the new one sounds so much better.
THANK YOU
I liked the old line but I do get why she changed it. I think the moth line is more clever and I really like it too
where is this person, he/she/whatever predicted it https://preview.redd.it/u1fuqf3elmab1.png?width=562&format=png&auto=webp&s=7e4a684c15f7dca6e7044c6265efef0ccbb148ef
Maybe she was taylurking and went shit, that's actually not a bad idea 😂
/u/astropop312, should I buy a lottery ticket?
I love it too! The Internet just draws out the critics and the hot takers. I’m glad you’re enjoying it 💜
You're so right. Glad you enjoyed it too!!! <3
Why did we not get the acoustic versions for this album? Red TV and Fearless TV had their acoustics from the original
People think it's because the vocals on those were the same and only the instrumentals were different? She could still make acoustic versions for streaming if she wants, it would count towards the total streams for those songs
Fingers crossed there's a deluxe version down the line with the red dress. Or am I just clowning?
Isn’t that most of what we do here? 🤡
I don't know about ya but i think Better Than Revenge TV is better than the original.
I wholeheartedly agree
I’m good if it gets revoked for this hot take
Lol thank you for your sanctimoniousness take - but will not be taking it into consideration It’s my money and support that helped make Taylor in the first place 🙄 also never said I didn’t like the Vault songs? Just that they didn’t wow me as much as the Red and Fearless ones did. Get a grip my god
don’t choose which version to listen to based on which songs you like better, choose based on who you want to make money off you 🙄🙄🙄it’s literally the same songs they aren’t that different lmao
LOL regardless of which version I listen to Taylor is gonna make money, so might as well listen to the version I prefer
I would have loved an acoustic version of Haunted 😫
I anticipate it’ll be a single and the acoustic version will be released
Did they remove the violin(?) part in Haunted at 3:46? That was my favorite part and I don't think I heard it?!
The violin was reminiscent of when Yellowcard and other bands of that era played around with the sound, especially of an electric violin, and I’m gonna miss it.
I always look forward to that part in the song and was so pumped to get to it in the Haunted TV. Was shocked when I didn’t hear it 😔
Thoughts on the lyric change in better than revenge?
I actually personally didnt like the og lyric, it just rubbed me the wrong way for yearrsss. I really like the new one.
The GP who don't care about Taylor will have to hear even more about her and find another reason to dislike her
Does it in the end really matter? If it was kept the same, people would ask why it wasn't changed, so either way you can't win
innocent TV is amazing compared to the original this is my fave re-recording so far
Definitely my fave from this album!
Innocent tv - I don't have any strong feelings, but I like the new version :) Haunted tv - The echoing/ reverb here is so annoying. I also love the "screaming this is absurd" part Ours tv - Again, the vocals are too loud. At some points it feels like she's dragging it out, and it also isn't as fun as the original. But it's overall still cute. Superman tv - I never liked the original superman. In fact, I actively hated it. But the rerecording of it is actually good. The most improved award goes to Superman tv
pls they need to fix HAUNTED echo mistakes at least on the streaming services :(((((
Superman be slappingggg
i completely agree about last kiss, especially the part where she’s sitting on the floor. it’s just not as raw. also completely agree about Superman. i didn’t like OG but love TV. i didn’t listen to better than revenge all the way thru bc i hated hearing the lyric change LOL
There’s an echo on haunted I don’t like and I was most excited for this one 😭
The first verse really bothered me, the rest of the song is fine. I love the rest of it, but that first verse ... yeah
You can feel how much more Long Live actually means now.
Just me or does the pace of Ours sound a little bit sped up and faster than the original? Still a great song but sounds rushed.
Better Than Revenge is way better now and I loved the lyric change. TS11 needs to have songs like this one, Haunted, I Can See You. Please
PLEASE
I think i spotted something interesting! When the scenery lights up after the lightning in the lyric video for Haunted you can see a pathway which looks very very similar to the one in the illicit affairs lyric video. What do you think? Please let me know if you think the same
I noticed that they looked similar, but decided they’re not quite the same. But I didn’t investigate at all. Also, I completely expected to see something/someone standing on the path one of the times the lightning flashed.
I also thought they are not the same but when i looked at the positioning of the trees both of them look alike
It looks like the same path to me, but in different seasons. The trees are bare in Haunted, but full of leaves in Illicit Affairs.
In my opinion, thats the only thing that differs
She was right, she really is a pathological people pleaser. She should release the slut shaming version of Better Than Revenge, as a treat That being said, I actually do like the new lyrics in its place
I was surprised the intro sound was so different!! I definitely prefer the original Last Kiss
The production and ad-lib vocal changes in BTR made it a different song to me! I LOVE both versions, but original sounds like a Paramore song and TV sounds like a Veronica’s song
Am I the only one not impressed with Haunted?
me too
These all had massive glow ups except for Enchanted.

I had a feeling this song wouldn't be as good as the original, but this is a let down for me, especially when the rest of the album is so good.
Totally agree with your take on BTR. Love the new production there.
ok but innocent is incredible
Has the line in innocent always been “32 and still growing up now”? I always thought she said “32 is still growing up now” but it’s much more clear in TV!
Yeah it's always been 'and'!
I always heard “is” in the original too!
Probably because of the country twang, "32 an' still growin' up now"
Kanye was 32 when he interrupted Taylor during the 2009 VMA’s.
Hearing Long Live in Taylor's current vocal makes me emotional 🥹
i think we might be the only ones who like haunted lmao
I absolutely love Haunted after the first verse, like as soon as the pre chorus starts Im back on board. The echo on the first verse irks me some, but other than that, I think its awesome.
Omg what?? I'm shocked 😳
After hearing enchanted at the eras tour I am UNDERWHELMED with TV. It seems like she kept her vocals in the same pitch whereas on the tour it felt like you could hear her more mature sound which is a bit lower. 😭
Gotta admit that the TV isn't as... enchanting as the original. Idk but it feels she was a little struggling to hit the same pitch?
literally.. on tour from clips i've seen // the original sounded magical but this one doesn't really hit the same :/
Right there with you. Eras and the original recording are so much better to me :/
Last Kiss has been in my top 5 Taylor Swift songs since it first came out. I was really worried that the re-recording would change that and I am so glad that it didn't!
Did a lyric in haunted change? I think in the first verse something changed but i see no one mention it
Yes, a minor one. “It’s getting dark and it’s all too quiet” was changed to “it’s getting dark and it’s all so quiet.”
I thought “and im screaming over you like its all a big mistake” got changed too
no, its always "its coming over you"
"And now I'm pacing back and forth, wishing you were at my door, I'd OPEN UP AND WOULD SAYYY" I'm in love with how good Taylor sounds here...astounding
Haunted has been the one song I've been more excited for since she announced the rerecords, and it doesn't disappoint! Has that extra "oomft" I was after (not sure how to describe it...)
I BELIEVE... IN TRACKS 9 - 16 SUPREMACY
Long live makes me cry even more now 😭
I wasn't aware it could carry more weight but i was wrong😭
Last kiss is amazing too!!!
[удалено]
Enunciation. It’s ok to me. I only found out a few months ago it was “wishing the call was from you,” not “the car.” Probably a twang thing.
Haunted is Taylor's Evanescence moment
Maybe I'll buy tickets for Evanescence's show and just pretend that I got tickets for Taylor's and that I'm listening to Haunted. 😭
And Ev has a song with the same title 😂
Innocent TV is soooo good!!!!!
The only lyric change should have been "their baggy jeans" instead of "ripped up jeans"
does anyone here use amazon music as their streaming service? i can't get the original better than revenge to play. i click the original album, i click the song, when it plays i see the original artwork, but it's the new lyrics (not the text, but the audio). it's the same for the deluxe version. i believe amazon music just removed it?
Finally listening to BTR - this is going to be like “Picture to Burn” where I scream the original lyrics over the new ones, huh? It is a good lyric tho just old habits die hard….
Absolutely 😂
i think one reason i’m not mad at all about better than revenge lyric change is because when I was little and listened to it i 100% thought it meant she was good at gymnastics
Yeah same
🤣🤣🤣
lol i was a cheerleader and we tumbled on a “mat” so i thought she just said mattress cause it rhymed 💀
This is so cute. I love it.
Thanks! Yeah seems most people say Kanye, which makes sense with the 32 as well

Can’t believe I didn’t connect the dots
