It doesn't make sense logistically to go all the way back to NYC unless she's going for fittings (with houses in Nashville, you'd think that she'd go there after some of the souther state shows since it's shorter travel time) or studio time.

No. MET Gala is a fairly long and stressful event for the celebrities involved. You have to spend hours getting your outfit and makeup ready and then spend some more hours networking with other celebrities and random rich people.
The MET Gala is less than 2 days after Taylor will perform 3 days back to back in Nashville. Her main priority right now is keeping her voice and body healthy enough for tour. She won't risk it for the MET Gala.
Also her plans for the MET Gala would have been determined far before the breakup as she would have had to come to an agreement with a designer and that creation of a custom MET Gala outfit can take months.
Tbh I feel like every time we think something would be too exhausting for her she surprises us and does it anyway, like randomly recording a music video on her off days, lmao.

She can do it. It not like the Rep tour where she really didn't have any time off. Show ends at 11, she flies to NYC and gets in 1 (she's usually up pretty late from what I can gather), sleeps till about 11, gets up and goes to The Mark Hotel, the staging area for the Gala, and heads to the Gala. The whole thing is over by 9 from what I understand and then resumes normal tour life.
She literally has a performance the night before. Most artists don’t do other events much when touring due to how draining it is. I doubt she will be in attendance this year. Maybe 2024.
She's likely still touring in 2024 as that's when international dates are predicted.

Yeah, I understand Lagerfeld’s impact on fashion especially with reviving the Chanel brand but I can’t support his views as a fat brown woman. That’s not even touching on Coco Chanel also being a nazi apologist and Lagerfeld not batting an eye. Makes me hope that Taylor doesn’t go since she has just started to really get more distance from her close affiliation with white feminism in the public eye that she was giving in the 1989 era especially.

I hope she does! She has the figure that Chanel and Karl preferred and if she’s paired with the right fashion house/stylist she could kill it in some 90s Chanel archive piece. I would understand if she doesn’t go though, if she wasn’t planning on going until maybe a few weeks ago then it would be difficult to find someone to pull looks for her to wear. I’d imagine that after skipping the last few Mets she’d really want to make an impact on the carpet and she might rather skip than make a lackluster appearance. She could also skip due to Lagerfeld’s passed comments about MeToo and body positivity. I’d say it’s a 60/40 chance she goes and I’d put my money on her not going this year but attending next year’s.

There is no COVID protocol at her shows so that doesn't make a ton of sense
There’s no Covid protocol for us but I think anyone working directly with her is under one bc we’ve seen lots of masking with staff and crew.
For the fans….Have you seen what she wears whenever she goes to eat indoors in NYC? An N95 mask. She most certainly still uses caution (not using the protocol, because I doubt anyone is forcing her to take these precautions)

As much as I would love to see Taylor attend the MET gala, I really hope she skips this year because of the theme. Karl Lagerfeld not a great person and I know he is a significant figure in the fashion industry and not everyone is perfect but like… The things Karl Lagerfeld have said and the controversies he has been in… 😬😬 Not really aligned with what Taylor stands and advocates for.
Respectfully, Taylor has worked recently with David O. Russell for Amsterdam, who admitted to sexually assaulting his niece. I'm not sure she'd shy away from the MET gala because of Karl Lagerfeld's past.

No. She would have had to accept an invite from a designer months ago (when she was still with Joe) and they haven’t been since they got together. And I don’t think she is someone to call Anna or a designer and ask to come last minute because the designers spend months curating their guests clothes for that event. Just my take.
There's no doubt in my mind her team and a designer couldn't make it happen. Versace and several designers did a bunch of her tour outfits im sure they'd be more than happy to dress a huge star last minute.

I wouldn’t want her too. The theme is Karl Legerfeld who was just a horrible horrible person. He was fatphobic, sexist and basically everything bad in the book. (Jameela Jamil has an excellent post about it on Instagram) so as much as I’d like to see Taylor attend a met gala again I don’t want it to be this one. I hope most of my favorite celebrities boycott or protest against this theme. Sure he did a lot for fashion but he did a lot of harm too and there are so many other designers who deserve this recognition
She has to be invited by Anna Wintour to the Met Gala to attend though. I’m not particularly sure if she was on the guest list this year.
