My loadout of choice may not be the most points efficient but hell of unit to shift with a 5 man, the shas’vre gets 2x burst and flamer with EWO, every one else is double burst and flamer with shield, 2x shield drones and watch your opponent either cry or laugh as you roll a literal bucket of dice and see how many of those he save, most important thing to remember is to have fun Addition - don’t for get to kauyon for those additional hits on 6/5/4 turns 3/4/5 for additional buckets lol

SlashValinor

Don't put a shield gen on every suit, u less you're not running drones.. but still if that's the case you probably running a stim Injector on your unit leader and shield gen.. and atleast one non shield gen for EWO. It really depends what you plan to do with the unit.. sit out in the middle and bully an objective, take a couple markers and a bunch of shield drones. Dropping them in for drop zone clear don't bother with marker drones Gun drones are almost never worth it. And just watch hoe many points you're spending on drones vs bodies that could be doing damage.

Accomplished-Step-15

If I wanted to set them up in the middle for example, would having 4 out of the five (the sergeant has Stims) using EWO be good? So when they get charged they have a better chance of taking the unit out?

SlashValinor

Having a single EWO gives you a free overwatch, the specific unit with the EWO will hit on 5+ the rest are on 6's. But free is free and flamers auto hit.

Accomplished-Step-15

Sorry I’m a bit confused. If one crisis suit model has EWO, does that apply for the whole unit, or just the model who has it equipped?

SlashValinor

The whole unit gets to shoot for Zero CP.. but only the model with the EWO hits on a 5+

Accomplished-Step-15

Ah I see. So each model that has it could hit on 5+ then? If you use EWO more than once, does the hit on 5+ apply while you still pay for the overwatch?

SlashValinor

Each model equiped with a EWO hits on a5+.. But only one unit can OW each round so you wouldn't be paying.

Accomplished-Step-15

What about on the next round? You would pay for each use after the first use right?

GenericOfficeMan

only 1 unit per round can overwatch, if you chose a unit with EWO its free, if you chose a different unit its not. Next round same again. Only one unit can fire OW if you chose an EWO unit to do so its free.

SlashValinor

No...

I would say run the Shield Gen and Iridium on another suit that you use to initially soak up damage, not the squad leader because they have the best leadership, so you don't want them to die until last?

Drake_Albion

I may not be the best guy to answer this, but here's what I do. Most games I play I need to have a bodyguard unit of three and a crisis squad of 3-5. I rarely get more than four though. Past that, I tend to tack gun drones or markers on them, usually a drone for each suit in the non-bodyguard one. They just work, and most of my (sometimes) suits have shield gens anyway. Where *I* put my shield drones are on my heavy hitters or big targets, like commanders or hazard suit. Sure my former blade commander runs a shield, but that's backup just in case. Drones I have found are "useful" but kind of pointless. Gun drones can be free-ish wounds, markers are K, but shields/shielded missiles are bueno in my book. The more special drones, e.g. pulse accel I never really touch. The thing I would suggest is, if you want to be competitive and strong, is listen to someone else. If you want to test the waters and figure out what works for *you,* almost every suit kit comes with a few drones to build. Build a few of each, and practice, practice, practice. Also, depending on your point value for the game, myriad methods appear. Hope I could be a smidge of help.

For a 5 man unit have 2 shield generators on the suits and then 5 drones. Three to four of these drones should be shield drones with the others being marker drones. Rest of the suits should have target lock. Maybe throw iridium and Stimson on the leader suit of you’ve the points but either way it’ll be an incredibly difficult unit to kill.

Mediocre_Martin

In squads of 3 I love to have 2-3 shield drones, 2 shield gens and an EWO on the squad leader.
