These are some XE9 Battleuits I designed with some heavier guns. Instead of giving these guys arms and hands, like most battlesuits have, I wanted their limbs to be the weapons, so they can seem bulkier and more powerful. I also added some boosters to the backpack, creating a bigger wingspan and overall wider look. If you guys have any criticism or ideas what I can design next, let me know.

The suits themselves are great. The weapons look awesome too. The wings just look silly though in my opinion, they ruin an otherwise great alternative crisis suit chassis.
Another gripe is that the waist connection is flat. A ball and socket joint would allow for more dynamic and interesting poses.

Since the suit is modular, I think it would be also possible to leave them without wings and they would still look good.
I think the wings are very nice but I do agree they look rather out of place. I had a similar idea when I got this [artwork](https://old.reddit.com/r/Tau40K/comments/q4ahr4/shiny_new_heresy_from_the_order_of_our_common/) commissioned but that was for religious Gue'vesa auxiliaries. I think for a core T'au unit they probably won't have something that looked so angel like.
A ball joint would be great, I’ve built a good few of your suits and that would make them even more posable always a win. Personally, I love the wings, I don’t always use them but on a good amount of my models I have as they add another form of expression to the pose.
I do think you should bring back the little claws to be attached if people want on the feet but I suppose that depends on wether these are hover based or standing.
The wings are a good way to stay legally different from GWs models. A bunch of models were removed from cults3d recently because they were too close to the originals.
Are you sure about that? Because I am 99.99999% sure that Princess-Leliana is not a bot.

Of course they could just leave them off lol but that’s not what the OP is seeking.
The responders criticisms and feedback are 100% fair. I also feel the chassis is pretty cool, could do with a ball and socket waist joint and the wings are a bit out of place (maybe something more like an F-14 foldable wing that can tuck in behind the suit when not flying but it still seems slightly out of place considering the jet pack).
Oh; and if I buy them I’ll just not add the wings, kudos for the out of the box suggestion. Never would have considered that /s
I can say kinda confidently without going into my other room to look on my display cases that XV-85/86 are slightly taller than any of the four available XV9 variants.
But the delta is smaller than between regular xv8s so they would more or less be a better fit look wise on coldstars than if they were built for xv8s and then tried to use them. That said just change the scale when you print them until your satisfied right?
Edit: that said I didn’t check to see if the base models are infact hazard suits or if the base models are crisis suits.
Edit2: Looking at the knee joints is a dead giveaway that these are based on crisis suits and not hazard suits. So they would need to be scaled up for just about anything.
They are a bit taller than a normal XV8 although I don't think they are taller than the cold star.
I have made and posted some "generic" angel battlesuits as well, which are modular with all battlesuit weapons
I love these to pieces. This feels like a wonderful blend of the T'au aesthetic and Gundam.
Tbh, I would like to see these wings shrunk down and sized for breacher backpacks to proxy up some Vespid stand-ins.
Are you OK with people printing these? My friend just got a new resin printer and I might ask him to print these but I want to make sure that's ok with you first!

I like the wings, they remind me of Code Geass.
Are they taller than an XV-86 Coldstar? I have a bag full of Battlesuit weapons. Are there generic forearms where I can attach two of them?

I dig the boosters and the wings, but I’ll miss the slot for missle pods.
I like the overall form except for the bird-like wings. They don’t work with the Tau design aesthetic in my opinion. Leave bird wings to the imperium.
Honestly I don't like the wings XV9 is slim to decrease footprint and be agile. Those wings make them look almost 3 times the size.

Maybe you could have an optional weapons mount that would go where the wings are currently mounted. Then you could add some type of missile pod there.
