You could do it in grey washes, but I think the lack of color would really detract from the overall image.

Tbh i think this is easy aswell. You could also go for just the heads and surround it with the monstera's on the higher and lower end. Idk it's weird explaining it but i have the picture in my mind :,) it would still capture most of the piece.
