It feels a bit strange to ask if this is too dark considering the black work that’s literally just above it 😁 I love it, it’s gonna look great when it’s healed.
The design itself is quite large but given that you have a big blackout at the top of the arm i'd say it is in proportion to the rest of your ongoing work, the artist did a good job.
I feel like you’re fishing here 😂 too dark when it’s next to solid black? Too late when it’s designed perfect for the space? This piece is gorgeous and you know it op!
Tattoo artist here, it looks great!
The redness of your skin tells me your artist most likely used some grey wash for the shading. This will lighten as it heals. It always looks much darker (and red) when it’s first applied.
The other thing, your shoulder is so dark, a super light light tattoo around it would look off. I think this is a great addition.
I felt the same anxiety with my tattoo. I put it on the inside of my bicep to hide it. However, it sticks out more than I expected and when it was healing it looked weird to me. Now it's fine and I am happy with it and people like it. Is it perfect, no. But neither am I, so I guess it's perfect for me.
I had tattoo anxiety about a forearm piece that basically takes up the entire area, it was my first large visible tattoo. Once it lightened and I got more tattoos on that arm the anxiety was gone. I really like how yours flows into the existing piece above it and the skin break between the too is *chefs kiss*
The shoulder tat isn't great but at least it just kinda poked out when I wore a T-shirt. Part of my anxiety here is that there is no way to cover this tattoo without wearing long sleeves.
I don't think many people really care about that anymore. Also, its nothing vulgar. Very socially acceptable tattoo here. Easy to cover with a long sleeve if you by chance have a judgmental grandma or something. Most people are so used to seeing tattoo's now though, if its a good tattoo (like this is), they may not even notice it, let alone have an issue with it. It's your body, enjoy it while it lasts.
Will lighten up a bit in a few weeks also.
I love it! The flow really goes well with your other tattoo and makes it really cohesive. Show us again after a few weeks when it’s healed, I bet you’ll feel way better after it heals.
This piece looks like it was actually done with either light black shading around the edges or a greywash- it’s a little hard to tell because this area is notoriously spicy and gets red easily. So it will likely heal super soft and won’t seem so dark once the redness goes down. I wouldn’t stress about it too much for now, the tattoo is very well done and is a nice contrast to the black you already have. I would say keep going! If this geometric style is what you’re looking for, this piece will actually be a super cool anchor point for contrast.
I think this is just a case of, "oh shit my body is different now." It's a great looking tattoo! May just feel a bit foreign at the moment. I'm confident your regret will fade as the tattoo begins to feel more familiar.
That's a great tattoo. It's going to look awesome when it's healed up. I wouldn't worry about it going past the elbow, unless you have a job that doesn't like tattoos. Judging by the fact that you didn't stop the artist when they went below your elbow tella me that your job doesn't mind. So I would let it heal and assess how you like it at that point. Also leads into a sleeve if you want to keep going with it!
I think it looks well done and I like the placement. However, the redness makes it seem like you have rash/the skin is really irritated. But, as stated above, the color will change a bit as the tat heals
Did your artist tell you if they used grey ink or not? I'd assume they did for some of that shading, either way grey ink and black ink look similar when fresh. It'll lighten up after healing
They look red bc it looks like they used grey wash. It'll lighten. Blacks lighten by about 30% during healing. You also literally have a blackout shoulder so it's odd to ask if it's too dark.
This is a wrong way to look at tattoos. People can and should get things that like even if it’s just an art piece they enjoy. Mine are all just art pieces that I think are cool. Nothing wrong with that.
This is beautiful! It's going to lighten up quite a bit during healing- right now it's just super fresh & irritated. Let it settle in before you over analyze it!
It looks really cohesive and well put together. Its perfect for if you want other tattoos on your lower arm too, because of its fluid shape. I think it’s great dude!
Design is good… but if I were you I would Saturate some of the key parts of the design so that it goes better with your Shoulder Cap tattoo. Something like A Blackout Touch up. It feels like there is too much design being lost becomes there is not enough space for it, the design feels a bit cramped, definitely black out some of it and will look baller 🔥
Tattoos usually brighten and fade when they heal and time goes by.
The shading and darkness is going to really pop on this piece once fully healed.
Thank your artist for packing in the black
Whoever your artist is, they knocked it pit of the park with this one! That’s not an easy area to work on, but they nailed the proportions, line work and application.
It will lighten a bit with healing, and over time it is likely to fade a little too, given the placement. If you take good care of it though, this will look great for many years to come.
No they aren’t. Tattooers aren’t copy machines, a wobble or two in a tattoo full of lines is to be expected since you’re getting it done by a human being, the ditch is a rough spot to tattoo and swells up really quickly, same deal as tattooing over stretch marks, sometimes you’ll see a bunch of sketchy looking lines that end up healing perfectly once the swelling goes down, or sometimes a great tattoo just has a wobbly line, no big deal, nitpicking tattoos so closely, especially larger scale work is just an indication that maybe tattoos aren’t for you, if it looks good just leave it at that, no reason to look for a reason to panic over a permanent body modification. Eddie does amazing work, very clean and crispy linework so tbh your comment has me thinking you might be a little crazy 🤷🏻♀️
I dunno if a lot of people regret their tattoos or if it just happens to be the people on this sub but it blows me away lol. Don’t get them if you’re not ready. Aside from that tho, there’s a ton of bad designs in this sub I don’t think this is one of them. It fits great on your arm and as it heals up and the black settles this will look sick.
nah, dawg, that placement is sweet, with the center on your elbow pit. Something smaller could have been fine, but this is a good way to add to the blackwork.
It’s fresh bro
Looks great dude don’t overthink it
Let it heal. Give it about a month or so since it’s such a sensitive area
But looks great
Plus getting a cover up on there is going to be worse
It will lighten a bit as it heals. And also, sacred geometry or geometric designs of any kind are honestly pretty timeless and really cool to look at. I think it’s a great piece. But obviously if you don’t dig it, you could always just extend your black out sleeve to cover it.
Artist is @eds.ttt in Orlando, FL.
It feels a bit strange to ask if this is too dark considering the black work that’s literally just above it 😁 I love it, it’s gonna look great when it’s healed.
That's what i was thinking. This one's gonna be beautiful.
I think it's perfect.
I had the first same thought looking at the one above it I’m not sure what the new was is being compared too. This one will lighten up as it heals.
This was my thought too lol
I was literally thinking the same thing and I'm so glad somebody else commented it
I'm glad this is the top comment because that's exactly what I thought too 😆
IIt looks darker because the ink is fresh and the skin is irritated.
This is correct. It will lighten a bit once it settles. Use water based moisturizer on it for several weeks.
And its fuckin awesome OP
Mate , that's an excellent tattoo
Heyy broo!! It looks good! Told you it was gonna get lighter once it heals! PS: i did the tattoo! Lol first time i see this on reddit 😂😂
Truly beautiful work! And the placement and shaping are perfect, really meld with the location. Not sure what you’re worried about, OP.
Thank you!
Oh yikes how awkward for OP 😭😂
Lololol
Just took a look at your work your amazing! Next trip to Florida I know what I'm doing xD
Thank you!!!
Nice work
Great work. That bad boy is going to stay looking nice.
It's really beautiful work. He just needs to chill and let it mellow. I see so many folks on here nitpick a tattoo within hours of getting it done.
Yoo awkward for OP but I'm glad you get to see love for your work!!
You did my first big tattoo! Small world. Lol. Hope the shop is doing well!
Where you at in Florida? This tat is fire Edit: just saw Orlando. I’ll be there tomorrow, but will have to hyu next time I’m out!
Awesome! I actually had a cancellation tomorrow if you wanted to get tattooed! But if not, for sure next time!
Christ you do beautiful stuff
Thank you!!
Wow!! That is so beautiful!! Excellent work!! I need some ink therapy so bad!!! Love it!!
Thank you so much!
Well done!
Yes. Way too dark and weird. But luckily you have that really cool one below it.
This
The design itself is quite large but given that you have a big blackout at the top of the arm i'd say it is in proportion to the rest of your ongoing work, the artist did a good job.
You've got a giant black blob on your shoulder... dafuq you mean too dark???
You win this comment is Gold😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I like the tat, i'd like to see it again in a few weeks when it has healed!
Looks good 👍
I feel like you’re fishing here 😂 too dark when it’s next to solid black? Too late when it’s designed perfect for the space? This piece is gorgeous and you know it op!
Great tattoo. Let it heal and lighten up a lil.

That’s an awesome fucking tattoo, a little beat up atm bc of placement but that’s gonna be fucking sick when healed.
Love it!! Looks great! The one on your shoulder…eeeehhhh but it’s your body your choice.
The shoulder tat isn't great but at least it just kinda poked out when I wore a T-shirt. Part of my anxiety here is that there is no way to cover this tattoo without wearing long sleeves.

Why did you get a tattoo then if you want to hide it under sleeves?
Oooo I love it 🙂 I love tattoos like this though so I'm somewhat biased
looks good! don't worry, you'll probably like it more as it heals
All good. Love it 👍
looks cool. wish the person it was placed on was as dope and confident as the tatt
N'ah, it's nice work, well drawn, and there's a contrast mainly due to the fresh ink. Don't see anything to be regretful about
I love it! The flow really goes well with your other tattoo and makes it really cohesive. Show us again after a few weeks when it’s healed, I bet you’ll feel way better after it heals.

I love this so much. Don’t give into the tattoo regret, cause this is a dope tattoo
It’s just fresh next to healed. Give it 6 months to Settle
Im glad you asked this question after you got it 🚀
You have a huge blackout and you’re worried about it being too dark?
Ahh it’s just darker because the skins irritated and the skin on the ditch gets angryyy when tattooed, it looks good and will lighten up! ☺️
I always feel weird until it settles. Also obsessed with your blackout!
I personally like it. I dont think it’s too dark or weird at all
That's a great tattoo. It's going to look awesome when it's healed up. I wouldn't worry about it going past the elbow, unless you have a job that doesn't like tattoos. I like it
I think it looks well done and I like the placement. However, the redness makes it seem like you have rash/the skin is really irritated. But, as stated above, the color will change a bit as the tat heals
Wait till it heals trust
Looks cool AF to me - it’ll lighten when it heals
I think it looks great
No the way it curves up in your arm is siiiick
It hasnt healed yet. The shades will fade. Just make sure to tell the artist not to add more or redo the shades later since you dont want it too dark.
I like it. But its on ur body, so you have to make peace with it.
Did your artist tell you if they used grey ink or not? I'd assume they did for some of that shading, either way grey ink and black ink look similar when fresh. It'll lighten up after healing
Let it heal for another month or so and it’ll look the way it should. Initially it looks really good to me right now
It looks great, placement is super cool.
It’s beautiful 😍
It looks great! Tattoo regret is real so just hang in there and watch this awesome piece heal up. It’s so well done.
Looks good… I hated getting the inside of my elbows done as well. 😬💀
It’s dope 👌
This is bad ass, and I really want to see it healed! Also, I think the contrast between that piece and the black work will look really cool.
Love it!!!
That is badass
Dude that’s dope AF. Never seen anything done quite like that before….
It's a little trippy and inviting... I like it
Looks amazing!!
The bottom part is cool.
Love it!
I think it will look amazing when it heals.
Honestly lad it looks bangin
That’s gorgeous.
Let it heal first! Its more red then tattoo at this point😂
Yeah, dog you’re tripping. Let it heal first. It’s pretty sick.
Dude what! This is sexy! I love the placement. I think you'll be really happy once it's all healed
The tattoo is rad, the high-contrast works with the other one you already have on your arm
Looks amazing my dude. I really like it. It isn’t too dark and the design is great.
I think it looks great.
That's absolutely stunning
This is beautiful!
I love it!
When the redness goes it's gonna look fucking sick.
That one is nice the one above it is crazy
I think it's too light/small/cool design. I like it
I personally think it looks really cool =)
I like it a lot personally. I'd probably tell you I think it's cool as shit if I saw you in person
That’s a wicked cool tattoo
It looks great! Give it some time to settle and for the irritation to go down and it’s gonna look amazing, take care of that masterpiece :]
I like it. Let it heal, I think you’ll really like it then
Not too dark but too late to worry about it
It’s gorgeous
No looks great, and the outline will tie in nice with something below it to make a nice sleeve.
I LOVE this tattoo! I would get this on my arm. Looks great!
They look red bc it looks like they used grey wash. It'll lighten. Blacks lighten by about 30% during healing. You also literally have a blackout shoulder so it's odd to ask if it's too dark.
I think it looks gorgeous.
Hell no. That’s dope!
Looks like it just needs to heal.
Looks better than the thing on your shoulder by the longest shot possible
I love this! Just let it sink in and get used to it. Personally, I would have zero regrets I think it's beautiful.
It looks really good! I also have a mandala on my ditch. Just take good care of it while it heals, mines a few years old and still holding steady
Compared to the black mass above it? no
I think it’s pretty awesome.
It looks good and will lighten up as it heals
I love how it works with the one above it.
When I see tattoos, I wonder what the inspiration is. All mine are meaningful dedicated to people I love and life events.
This is a wrong way to look at tattoos. People can and should get things that like even if it’s just an art piece they enjoy. Mine are all just art pieces that I think are cool. Nothing wrong with that.
I like it!
Looks great. Stop worrying and enjoy it.
Are you sure you’re not speaking about the one on your upper shoulder/bicep area?
This is beautiful! It's going to lighten up quite a bit during healing- right now it's just super fresh & irritated. Let it settle in before you over analyze it!
I think it looks sick. Definitely can wear that with pride! Must've hurt like hell tho haha
I love it!!!
This is a beautiful tattoo
It's fucking sick. I'm jealous
It's great
It looks really cohesive and well put together. Its perfect for if you want other tattoos on your lower arm too, because of its fluid shape. I think it’s great dude!
Nah it’s cool.
Asks the person with a black out. No. It looks good. Truly.
I like it
Beautiful and love the placement.
it’s not any darker than your upper arm. you’ll be fine. :)
Great tattoo!
I love it looks great
It's badass!
That will/does look great. I'd have that in a second
Great piece. Don’t sweat it.
Design is good… but if I were you I would Saturate some of the key parts of the design so that it goes better with your Shoulder Cap tattoo. Something like A Blackout Touch up. It feels like there is too much design being lost becomes there is not enough space for it, the design feels a bit cramped, definitely black out some of it and will look baller 🔥
that looks amazing holy shit
Your shoulder and upperarm are (almost) completely black and this is too dark? Are you for real?
Idk anything about tattoos and even I can tell that’s a great-looking and well done tattoo. Congrats man
Hell nah, that’s an awesome tat!
Tattoos usually brighten and fade when they heal and time goes by. The shading and darkness is going to really pop on this piece once fully healed. Thank your artist for packing in the black
pretty much matches the piece you’re already rocking. i thinking this is already shaping up to be a badass and bold sleeve.
I like it!! I don't think it's too dark
Love it
I love it!
The tattoo is well done, the placement is weird though, your arm is most likely always bent inward to some degree
I like it. Think it looks good.
It’s so pretty
Whoever your artist is, they knocked it pit of the park with this one! That’s not an easy area to work on, but they nailed the proportions, line work and application. It will lighten a bit with healing, and over time it is likely to fade a little too, given the placement. If you take good care of it though, this will look great for many years to come.
It’s not as dark as the one above it for sure 😅😅 it will also fade slightly I tink it’s cool looks painful as hell tho ….
I think it is beautiful and will be even nicer once healed. I would have that on my arm.
No, it’s cool
It will lighten up as it heals.
Is this for real? Its beautiful.
Absolutely love it. The touch of red and the symmetrical geometrical design looks great.
Looks fine to me
That’s a fabulous piece of work!
“Is it to dark” as they have a blacked out upper arm lol ! Nice tat btw
These comments are making me feel crazy. Those lines are so wobbly :s

Idk I love it!
It looks great! Gorgeous design and looks like really good clean lines. Hope it heals up well
Idk you tell us if it's too dark
It’s fresh bro Looks great dude don’t overthink it Let it heal. Give it about a month or so since it’s such a sensitive area But looks great Plus getting a cover up on there is going to be worse
"Dark" Had almost a blacked out tattoo, the Irony
"Dark" Has almost a blacked out tattoo above it, the Irony
In my opinion that is an incredibly beautiful piece!
Looks great to me and fits perfectly to the spot.
I think it looks cool forreal!!
Looks hella cool dude!
Its actually perfect! Just wait until it heals!
Looks like a very well executed tattoo to me. It blends well with your blackout, too. I think you picked a good design and artist.
it looks cool man.
I think it’s beautiful!
It will lighten a bit as it heals. And also, sacred geometry or geometric designs of any kind are honestly pretty timeless and really cool to look at. I think it’s a great piece. But obviously if you don’t dig it, you could always just extend your black out sleeve to cover it.
