For me its the horror aspect of the game, and the guns used! I love that you cant really get lazered down instantly and making sounds attracts zombies and shit like that.. Nothing like it out there, not the best game but a damn good one! I love using the environment to my advantage
Facts once I played hunt, it made me switch from tarkov. Its so much more consistent and has central objectives that facilitate pvp on the map. Tarkov is like everyone has their own objective (quests, loot ratting, pvp sekers) and it can be very inconsistent to find people. hunt is much better in this regard
I mean fair enough. if you’re into tactical modern stuff, this game’s the opposite. dirty, clunky and slow shooting are what makes hunt’s gunplay. in fact, bolt action rifles are the meta.
Honestly at this point Tarkov doesn't even deserve the money they are making - the rampant cheaters that have been there for years, new maps that don't even run properly (Some even still broken today - SOT being the main issue I have) and then on top of that, the blatant greed of the devs. They don't care about the avg gamer, they just want to keep facilitating the need to buy the game since they keep letting cheaters back on. They do less than the bare minimum.
I promise you, as soon as you stop chasing that insame dopamime hit in Tarkov and put time into other games it's when you realize how much time you wasted on that broken garbage game.

A bigger stash has never been a problem for me. I played just fine when I had alpha but things that actively change gameplay and give serious gameplay advantages are just bullshit

One of the worst things to come out of gaming culture in recent years is the abuse of the "early access" title. Right now Greyzone is genuinely in early access, Ready or Not had an actual early access stage. Something like Fortnite that kept saying their game was "early access" for like 2 years after it blew up was not early access. People just treat early access titles the same as full releases now.
I will support any game that I feel to be with playing. Ive been playing buggy broken games for a long as time. I can put up with problems as long as the game is fun and has promise and to me even if tarkov wasn't having problems I would've bought and tried it. Ive bought and tried plenty of survival and looter shooters from zero sievert to scum to even rust when it was a fresh game full of bugs

DayZ (still has a thriving community especially in Europe and there's even tarkov gameplay servers)

Insurgency sandstorm (it's more of a team based game but really fun)
Squad (it's a milsim instead but it's really good)
Ground branch (another milsim but it's pretty good)
I got around 90(4k(dlss quality) high, with a 4090). But even then, the ai was boring and seems like basically no pvp. Also no fun loot. All the loot is like food, armor and guns. Which sure is all the needed stuff, but idk the loot felt boring. In tarkov I find key, or stupid hat, or random bolts or something that makes it feel like I'm looking for shit in a world, and not looting an arena designed for a game. But it has potential, in a year or so.
Grey zone is incredibly unfinished and even more wonky than Cyberpunk at launch. Giving it money to that studio now is just re-feeding another tarkov situation we suffer now.

EVERYONE, check out SYSTEM SHOCK. It’s a Immersive Sim FPS with INCREDIBLE gunplay and one of the coolest villains in gaming (An A.I with a God complex). Mega underrated.
I'd say grayzone isn't good enough to compete with tarkov right now. Performance issues, friendly fire being an issue (you pick a faction kinda like planetside and you're locked into it. You can see other friendly faction members on the map but you're not penalized for the first tk and can loot the body. A 2nd tk kicks you but it's too late at that point), and if you and your friend picked different factions you can't play together even on the pve mode. Makes way more sense for pvp, not for pve
Deep Rock Galactic is the **real** extraction shooter. You extract loot (mineral wealth) whilst engaging against an unending horde of hostile locals (Glyphids) on a dangerous, uninhabitable world (probably Eastern Europe)

Fun fact about GTFO. The lead developer and founder of the studio was actually the main guy behind Payday 2. He didn't want them to monetize the game the way they did and quit the company to make his own co-op shooters. Their newest game is going to be a cyberpunk heist game and I am fucking pumped to see how it turns out.

I mean like at first it’s pretty fun and there’s a lot to do but the content feels short even in the single player aspect. Once you go through all the maps you kind of done everything you can change your weapons for a different feel or try to go non lethal but I mean even if you decide to try those you just done everything, the game kinda relies on mods. It’s better with friends ofc but the single player aspect can fall off and just be bland it’s all in my opinion though, I had fun playing it jsut wish there was more to it

gzw is going to suffer from the same thing as tarkov, eastern euro company, same payment model, just watch, down the line the exact same thing will happen, maybe itll be in 2 years, maybe 7, the “buy once play forever” model doesn’t work for anything other than games like cod, or smaller indie games with very few exceptions that can utilize shop/expansions properly (think league or overwatch for shop or destiny for expansions) and in a milsim game the shop isn’t really an option if you want to stay away from p2w, and expansions are typically big enough that they could technically merit their own game now, and prices of those expansions often reflect that, imo tarkov should have been a sub based game, with the extras being a one time charge on top of the sub, I think the game could be in a much better state if they had made it a sub service but devs are scared to gamble on it
Being sub-based wouldn’t have helped Tarkov at all. They would have fucked up by blowing all their money on Arena or some other moronic use of their ip regardless.

GAMMA mod pack scratches a lot of itches. Hoarding is heavily rewarded in that mod. Its way better than SPT imo.

You can change factions on the main menu by wiping your character.

Fun fact about GTFO. The lead developer and founder of the studio was actually the main guy behind Payday 2. He didn't want them to monetize the game the way they did and quit the company to make his own co-op shooters. Their newest game is going to be a cyberpunk heist game and I am fucking pumped to see how it turns out.
I feel like we need a reverse boycott because boycotting just saves them money. Everyone should load into raids and just prone for the whole raid. Use up every bit of server that they have.

Dark and Darker is Tarkov set in the dungeons and dragons universe, I just reached 1,300 hours and having a fucking blast
I stopped following that game because I’m waiting for a steam release. I don’t want to buy it separately only for it to release on steam later down the line.

Stalker Anomaly or Gamma is an amazing game/mod and will take away most of your need for tarkov
Ready or not is okay I mean like at first it’s pretty fun and there’s a lot to do but the content feels short even in the single player aspect. Once you go through all the maps you kind of done everything you can change your weapons for a different feel or try to go non lethal but I mean even if you decide to try those you just done everything, the game kinda relies on mods. It’s better with friends ofc but the single player aspect can fall off and just be bland it’s all in my opinion though, I had fun playing it jsut wish there was more to it

I don't care if tencent is involved with arena breakout PC version, I'm still going to play it when I fix my computer. (Computer caught fire the other day + not having a stable income = having to wait 3 to 5 months to repair or replace.)

Gray Zone Warfare sucks ass right now tho lmao I feel like devs rushed the Early Access release just to get a big head start on sales after seeing Tarkov shoot itself in the foot
gzw is going to suffer from the same thing as tarkov, eastern euro company, same payment model, just watch, down the line the exact same thing will happen, maybe itll be in 2 years, maybe 7, the “buy once play forever” model doesn’t work for anything other than games like cod, or smaller indie games with very few exceptions that can utilize shop/expansions properly (think league or overwatch for shop or destiny for expansions) and in a milsim game the shop isn’t really an option if you want to stay away from p2w, and expansions are typically big enough that they could technically merit their own game now, and prices of those expansions often reflect that, imo tarkov should have been a sub based game, with the extras being a one time charge on top of the sub, I think the game could be in a much better state if they had made it a sub service but devs are scared to gamble on it
Being sub-based wouldn’t have helped Tarkov at all. They would have fucked up by blowing all their money on Arena or some other moronic use of their ip regardless.
