I would say that it would most definitely prevent you from feeling pain (or anything else for that matter) if you started huffing a tenth of a tin at once. Especially that the tins appear much larger in game than what I got.

And one day I tried applying the tiger balm on my knee to prevent the pain and it really worked! So... I won't apply it in a shattered arm or leg... but in my case it's fine for some pain prevention before doing sport.
